This is one of my favorite jokes, although horses are not involved. And, some might consider it a bit racy. For that, I apologize. A preacher and his wife were up late on Saturday night while the preacher worked on his Sunday sermon. He finally decided to use the subject of water skiing as it pertained to life. He informed his wife and they both went to sleep. His wife went shopping in the morning before the preacher left for the church and, at the last moment, the preacher wrote a new sermon, the subject being sex. He proceeded to deliver the revised sermon. His wife got to the church just as the parishioners were filing out of the church and joined the receiving line at the end. She received many coy looks from the congregation and was asked how her husband became such an expert on the subject of the sermon. Unaware of the change ln the subject of the sermon’s theme, she replied “I don’t know. He only tried it once and that time he fell off.”

So happy to see you here again, Terry Crow, have missed you and your wonderful sense of humor! We need more humor in our lives these days.
This new filly is just lovely to see, and of course her mom is the best. Ideas for baby names are always fun – am thinking: Stargazer, Dazzling, Prinzessa
What do you think?
Best to all for a healthy and happy weekend, and heartfelt respect to all those we honor on Memorial Day.

Dear Sheena,
Daddy’s Lil Darling is a lovely girl, and from the looks of it, she isn’t a biter — either that or she really likes Kenny McPeek. Good Luck and health to her!
Winter sure is a beauty, also. Safe and sound racing to all.

On this day in 1961 at Windfields farm a little colt was born.He was to become one of the most influential sires of the 20th century. His name was Northern Dancer. He sired our last Triple Crown winner Nijinsky and the daddy of them all Sadlers Wells. He died on November 16th 1990 at the grand age of 29 after a severe bout of colic and taken home for burial. His legacy lives on.
Remembering all your servicemen men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts past and present.Lest we forget.RIP
Max
Northern Dancer was not one of the most influential sires of the 20th century. He was the standout sire of the 20th century, and maybe of all time. He won the KD and the Preakness, and but for being held back in the Belmont by his jockey, he would have won that race too. He set a record in the KD that was only surpassed by Secretariat. His return to Oshawa from Maryland after his death is a tribute to the high regard in which he was held by his people and all of Canada. He was also the first horse to enter the Canadian Hall of Fame. Secretariat later joined him. This is his story.

These are not my words just reported on Wiki as one of the most influential stallions of the 20th century.Any horse who can sire a British Triple Crown winner is great in my eyes.We are still waiting for another after 47yrs.We hold our champions in high regard also.
Max
Nijinsky took after his mother, Flaming Page, in size and appearance. He was at least 16 hands. She is the mare who gave Northern Dancer a kick in the chest during the breeding of Nijinsky. She came from a long line of great US horses and was like her name in character too.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena and Max,
Thanks for posting about Northern Dancer — what a horse he was!
Sounds like Flaming Page was not intimidated by Northern Dancer. :-)
Enjoyed the article about ND, Max!

Churchill has won the Irish 2000 guineas in fine style.Thunder Snow was 2nd.He was behaved well today obviously didn’t care for the slop in the Kentucky Derby but the race I enjoyed most was Gordon Lord Bryon’s win.His 73rd start at 9yrs old and he still loves to run. Many congratulations
Marshall (NC Broad)
Congratulations to Churchill on the Irish 2000 guineas win, and to Thunder Snow for securing second! Congrats to Gordon Lord B on his 73rd start and the win!

Thinking of all of you, TEAM Z, as you attend to ROYAL MO. I really, really hope that he’s coming along, but I do know what a heartbreak this is for each of you.
Sending you my love.

I just read that Gormley will in fact be running in the Belmont. May he not only run fast but safely. I’m also rooting for Irish War Cry and PATCH! Also, RIP Holy Bull and may you run wild and free with many others who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Betty Thompson
Perhaps her name could be ZenStarlia
or Zen d’Oro

What a great Mother she is. The way she looks at her young foal.
