Happy Friday! Here are a few photos from Alys to start your weekend. Zenyatta is looking as gorgeous as ever, and 17Z is growing older with her group of fillies.
Dear Judy.A lot of snow here today not with me but freezing tonight.Hovis has had the tube removed I had thought we might get some photos this weekend.Great to hear morehorses have been found safe but so sad for those lost.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
No words… Sending love and prayers to all involved in saving the horses. Thank you Team Z for the beautiful pictures of Queen Z and her filly. Special thank you to Alys for the amazing pictures.
This is the most recent report of lost and found horses from ” Lost and Found Horses” from the Lilac Fire in San Diego, specifically from the Bonsall training center SLRD (San Luis Rey Downs) It is from the internet.
You will learn of many horses that have been found in nearby ranches, farms or lost. I was so thrilled to learn of some of the found horses that were presumed lost or had been presumed dead. I hope this gives you hope.

If you join the group. you will be informed of each horse found. I was especially happy about “Big Train” being found.
This above “lost and found” website managed to locate 22 horses yesterday by publishing all. It is thrilling to see so many horses feared lost/perished that have been located and reunited with their owners. They identified one known horse thief to watch out for as well!
These pix of the found horses reduce the numbers of lost horses/perished horses by a lot.
It is so heart warming to see them found and back with their families. One of the horses is from trainer M Bolloq’s barn and was listed as perished. Previously they thought the filly was lost and that Marie had lost 3 of her 6 horses. Now Trainer M.Bollocq has come out of her coma and knows that one of her lost fillies is found!! This above Blog has become a salvation for lost horses and a method of getting them back to their connections!! Hooray!!!
Thank you so much for letting us know about these miraculous survivors. Happy to learn that they can be reunited with their people. Glad to hear that Marie B. is out of the coma and knows one of her fillies has been found. Bless them all.
Continued prayers for you and everyone during this horrible inferno.
Hugs and Love

Sorry, her name is not Marie but Martine Bollocq. and it is my error. One f her sillies was found . Bless them all.
Congratulations to Lucky Lilac as she becomes Orfevre’s first group one winner in the Hanshin Juvenile.
RIP Collier Bay who won the Champion Hurdle in 1996 He had lived in quiet contentment with Jim Old’s secretary Emma Grierson. He was 27yrs old.Gone where all the good horses go(and don’t worry Moosie some of the naughty horses too)RIPX
Dear Judy:Peggy will be happy for Orfevre. They have had a lot of the white stuff in Lincolnshire I think.Nothing here but still very cold.Did’nt Summer look cute in her Christmas outfit?Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Steve Haskin has written an article in Bloodhorse yesterday that is a must read. It is a tribute to the bravery of a remarkable woman named Casandra Branick who saved all the horses and 2 goats from her trainer’s barn. Her trainer was in England. This woman was amazing and I thought you should all learn of her. The trainer in the barn behind her who is mentioned in the article is Martine Bollocq who was taken to the hospital from her burns trying to save her own horses.
Thanks for this Steve Haskin article — it is superb. God bless Ms. Branick, the grooms, all workers and all those brave, selfless people who worked so hard to rescue the innocents.
Please read the December 3rd SH article about the Vox Populi award, too. Steve has such a remarkable gift! He has knocked another one out of the park with “Vox Populi Award Gaining its Niche in History”. I am unable to post the complete link here.

What a tale of courage and love of the horses. God bless and protect this wonderful woman and the men who worked with her.
I hope this horrible tragedy alerts all race tracks and stables to put a plan in place in case this terrible thing or some other catastrophe happens.
Thank God our Zenny and her little girl are safe at the farm.

Dear Shirlee:
Truly remarkable women, Ms. Branick; Martine Bellocq too, seriously injured while trying to save her horses. So many other unnamed heroes as well.
Yes, hopefully escape plans will be revamped. These horrible fires do tend to spread so quickly though and the wooden barns and hay are like tinder for them. Just awful. I get nervous when I see anyone smoking in the barn area on the farm. Worst nightmare. Love and Hugs, JB

Yes, several people have posted that there WAS an evacuation plan, but the wind shifted quickly and gave them no time to put whatever it was in place. I’m sure everyone tries to be as prepared as possible, but this just seemed like a totally overwhelming event. Certainly very said for all concerned and especially for those who might be unfairly blamed.
Dear Judy:It was colder in parts of Britain namely Shropshire last night than Moscow minus 13C.We have rain tonight though.Adrian Heskin has talked for the first time about staying with Sir Valentino and Hetti is doing very well now.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
In all this sadness, it’s sort of fitting that our hero California bred returns home. He always has lifted our spirits, and done the impossible. What a beautiful guy he is. He looks wonderful, nice and filled out. It is so nice to have him home!!
To make you smile. Stonestreet has posted on their Face Book a video of Good Magic romping and playing and having a vacation at the training center. His sheer joy in running brings a smile.
Sorry I can’t posted it here but I am not good at computer stuff.
I missed this when you posted it. Glad I saw it today. Good Magic certainly is magical! What a gorgeous boy he is. Love seeing him run around — almost on air! :-)
Thanks for posting this. Will be on the lookout for him as a 3 year old. Safe and sound always, beautiful chestnut boy!
Thanks, JB. Gorgeous, shiny, chestnut boy. The P Report has an article about him too. There is a good link with the video of him looking real fresh and spunky. Stay healthy and happy handsome boy!!
As I have mentioned previously, its sometimes next to impossible to find out what’s happening in horse world. Could someone please let me know who won the Vox Populi Award this year? Thanks!!
Dear Judy. Not so cold today.Still some wintry showers though. No Charlotte or Carl competing at the Stressage cult headquarters this year but there was a masterclass with her new mare Mount St John Freestyle or Mrs Valegro as Carl refers to her.Doubtful Faugheen will come over to Kempton for the Christmas hurdle.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Los Alamitos Race Course’s owner making another run
at re-zoning track property
By ALICIA ROBINSON | The Orange County Register
December 13, 2017
CYPRESS – Talk with Frank Sherren, the facilities manager at Los Alamitos Race Course, and he will quickly tell you that horse racing won’t end anytime soon at the 70-year-old track.
“We don’t have any plans to close the racetrack,” he said.
Still, owner Edward Allred, a retired doctor, does want a plan in place for the day the sport, which suffers from dwindling fan support overall, just can’t keep going on here. Maybe that day is eight years off, or a decade. http://www.ocregister.com/2017/12/13/los-alamitos-race-courses-owner-making-another-run-at-re-zoning-track-property/
Sorry to see this. Looks as though Los Alamitos will join Hollywood Park and others that have disappeared from the landscapes across the country. Sad commentary on “progress”.
