Today concludes our second week of foal watch. We must admit that we arrived a little early! Zenyatta has kept us waiting, but she’s showing signs that it won’t be too much longer. As always, we’ll let you know as soon as there’s news.
We also have a little update on Ziconic from John and Dottie. They say he is doing quite well following his March 25th race. He’s been getting lots of gate practice and learning to be comfortable in small spaces. We can’t wait to see what’s next for him.
Scroll down for photos from the last few days at Lane’s End.
Enjoy!

HI Zenyatta. I have a compunction to check several times a day. It’s so much fun and exciting. Thanks to Team Zenyatta and the wonderful Mosses we are being kept in the loop. It is so fabulous to read the other postings. I bet when it is all quiet you will get your little foal out. Maybe early in the morning. Love you a whole bunch.

April 8 Cherokee Devotional
My dear friend, rise up from being depressed. Circumstances have caused this predicament to last long enough. Stand up and shine! Feel the light deep in your mind, will, and emotions. Let the light flow all through you so that it can burn out the mists and fog that have hidden you from reality. Whatever the day may bring you, whatever hurts or disappointments you feel, search all closely and you will find the strength to counter them face to face. Make this day one of knowing there is no power, no critic, no trouble that can come against your inner strength and your outer calm. Even when darkness seems to cover the world and all its tangled affairs, your light will never go out or let you down.
Observation is certain to have its rewards.

Wonderful article on Bloodhorse.com about Old Friends and War Emblem. He is finally ready to meet the public and Michael is so thrilled to have him. Mentions some other champs who hopfully will be joining War Emblem soon.
shirleeinindy
make that hopefully! Senior fingers don’t work like they used to.
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Know that feeling. Will check out SH’s article on War Emblem. Thanks.

Dear Kathy.Wonderful devotional.Big problems with the new Dyfi website many can’t even access.I did manage to get LS on full screen this morning but nothing now I have told them on FB.I feel it was foolish of them to upgrade just at the start of the season really. The whole website is lovely though.Monty and Glesni are fine though and Maya(Rutland) has laid her 2nd egg!Much warmer here and at Aintree today the Liverpool lasses are out in their frillies.Native River has just won the Mildmay he stays forever!Vautour is on 3.35pm.Hovey- Wovey and mini mother are a real twosome more pics up today I have shared them.Wonderful news about Treve. No post yet from her.
Zoe had a good time at the fair poor Miss Diane and her taxes!Felix has a new Transpennine identity card.Betsy is fighting hard bless her and although very painful has eaten she is on a whole load of drugs. Many Clouds has arrived at Aintree and Mullins has taken a slight lead in the trainers championship!!!Courtesy of Limini.Shorty will have big decisions to make next year when Faugheen returns.Have a good Friday know how much you are missing Holly.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.The jockeys always visit Alder Hay during the Aintree meeting and took Neptune Collonges with them the children loved seeing him.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I know all about upgrades. We are going through that at work. Everything is crazy with the computers, nothing works. A shame they did that at the Dyfi right now. So glad Monty and Glesni are fine. Enjoy all the racing. So fun seeing all the gorgeous hats the ladies are wearing. Hovey-Wovey…that gave me a chuckle! Yes, the pics from the health fair were great. Sure would love to meet Zoe in person at some point. She’s a star! Poor Betsy, I hope she will get better. All my best to the fabulous horses and the trainers as they make decisions for them. Yes, I miss Holly terribly. I do know it will get better eventually. She was so gorgeous, so sweet, just a perfect fur daughter. Have a good Friday and a good weekend. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Why haven’t there been any updates since Tuesday? I hope everything is ok…

Drama at Aintree as Vautour trips up but still pasted the post on his own!Who needs Shorty???God’s Own and Paddy Brennan won the race and Shorty looks a bit stiff.Someone had bet £80,000 on Vautour Oops!Sheena

Past not pasted! Not good to type when I am excited!XOXO

Looks like Shorty is out of the Grand National with an injured wrist from his falls. Sir Des Champs is getting a lady as his jockey, Shorty’s sister in law. My hope is that one of these women jockeys would win. Main wish is that no horse or rider is hurt. Everyone home safely.
sheena.davies(wales)
My wish too after the accidents we have had over the National fences,Minella Reception had to be euthanised despite extensive treatment. One of Nigel’s horses.Moose was a very wise in refusing to run.Nina could have a good chance of winning she’s one tough cookie.Vautour was cruising when he fell.Mullins is leading now in our trainers championship Sheena

Good Morning beautiful Zenyatta, Team Z, Zsters and Dumplings.
It is fabulous Friday and a very good day to have a baby don’t you all think? Zenny you remain in my thoughts and prayers as always. I love you my angel.
Have a great day everyone.
Allie in Texas
Well, Zenyatta you have always loved keeping us in suspense. I’ve read where the gestation period for colts is longer than that for fillies. Wishing you an easy delivery, a beautiful foal and all the best.
Marilu Villanueva
Sending prayerful thoughts for your easy and safe delivery. And a healthy baby.
Hope your paddock mate, Violet Rose, is OK too.
Love and Hugs to both of you.

Well, I guess the new moon didn’t help, no foal yet but tonight would be good. A great way to end the week Zenny. I do believe this is going to be one big, healthy baby when we finally get to see her/him.

Dear Z Fans:
Here’s the new Instagram photo of Z that Bobby mentioned above. She sure looks ready; I’m thinking AJ is going to get her wish today, April 8th. Z, safe foaling and healthy baby and Mama. Love and Hugs, JB

Mares often foal when they are left alone. Turn your back, and the foal arrives like magic. This baby appears to have inherited the Northern Dancer sire line genes of doing things on his or her own timetable. We wait.
Ann NC
A watch pot never boils. You are right about turning the back, Max. Magic for sure!
TONIGHT! Come on girl!
Ann NC
Thanks, Aunties Leslie and JB.
There will be a beautiful foal on that bed of straw TONIGHT! I hope!
Luv ya Z, sweet girl.
Love to Team Z and LE and Zfans….pace, pace, pace.

Dear Max and Ann:

I’m a nervous wreck myself anticipating the news of Zenyatta’s baby. Any time now! LOVE YA ZENYATTA!
Louise Spadafora
Zenyatta will most likely foal tonight, I think. Her foal is in position and her bag looks like it may be waxed and dripping milk. We do not know her milk count, but from the photo just provided she looks more than ready for foaling sometime tonight. Pace, pace, pace, and hoping this is a safe and easy birth for Z.
Mary in Boone
Dear Queen Zenyatta,
You have the attention only You can command of all Your ladies and gentlemen. We are trying to appear calm so as not to unduly concern you. I too think tonight is the night, for the weather is not the best, and that seems to encourage births. You have many, many thoughts and prayers washing over you and your baby.
Take care, dear Queen,
xoxo to YOU,
Mary in Boone
