Today concludes our second week of foal watch. We must admit that we arrived a little early! Zenyatta has kept us waiting, but she’s showing signs that it won’t be too much longer. As always, we’ll let you know as soon as there’s news.
We also have a little update on Ziconic from John and Dottie. They say he is doing quite well following his March 25th race. He’s been getting lots of gate practice and learning to be comfortable in small spaces. We can’t wait to see what’s next for him.
Scroll down for photos from the last few days at Lane’s End.
Enjoy!

Really enjoyed the classic black and white photo of Jerry and Zenyatta. Hoping for a safe delivery whenever it happens. Same for her paddock mate as well.

I hope she holds out till my birthday(April 11)

They are likely referring to milk tests and her hind end is getting loose and her tail is flaccid.

No stout for the pregnant lady, even on her birthday! Black and white picture is pure class. Here’s to a smooth, safe delivery and a new baby to love!
Delrene from Carlsbad, Ca
Wow Zenyatta! You have so many of us on the edge of our seats waiting for news. Definitely checking a couple of times per day. Thank you Lane’s End for all the photos and the updates on our Mama to be. She looks lovely. Everyone looks so very happy.
Safe foaling for you and your paddock mate.

Can’t wait for the little one to arrive! So excited! My prayers are with everyone and for sweet Zenny to have an easy delivery with a very healthy little one! I love you so much, sweet Zenny! Yvonne

I guess April 6th will be an okay day but 7 is a lucky number. It really don’t matter as long as long as they both come out well. I hope it will be a beautiful filly. Whatever it is it looks like it is going to be a big one!!
Rita
Too many as longs in there sorry. Kindle messes up slot.
PatB from NM
Beloved Z, it looks like you’re ready to give us a big girl or boy! A peaceful delivery for you, my Queen.
Lynne
Wow, it sure looks like you are going to deliver any hour/day.
Very suspenseful for everyone. Please have a safe and healthy
delivery of your filly/colt.
Donna Z
I’m just checking & still praying, Mama Z. Has Ann started sleeping in your stall with you yet? I would be so excited that I would not want to leave you.
I’m happy that Ziconic is moving forward. It was just a freak thing that that dove flew in front of him just as the gate opened. I would have been startled by it, too.
I hope that Coz is starting to get the hang of what he is supposed to do on the track. He may be a late bloomer like you were and will race for several years once he gets going.
Sending prayers for blessings to everyone.
Donna Z
PS. Elizabeth, I loved your little poem on the previous page!
Elizabeth in New Mexico
Dear Donna,
Thank you for your kind remarks, so glad you enjoyed the poem. I too am looking forward to future races for Coz and Ziconic, along with all of Zenny’s fans. Keep up the pacing – shouldn’t we all be in fine shape after all this exercise (… back and forth.)?! Such fun! Happy day pacing. with love, Elizabeth

I always love to see new pictures of Zenny with Ann and Jerry! Ann’s face just lights up and Zenyatta loves them soo much. Still can’t wait to see the new foal!!

Dear Zenny,
Good morning, sweet Girl! Hope you and Baby Z got a good night’s sleep.
Ok…pacing, making up poems…. thought of something new to do today. Not sure if I can do this one or not –
knitting foal hoof booties.
Seems like the booties might end up with hay sticking out all over. Hm-m-m.
Will keep pacing – maybe a new idea will come.
Love you so much,
your NM pacing auntie, Elizabeth

Thank you for the pictures we love each one but the of Zenyatta drinking from.a bowl is adorable. What a sweet personality Zenyatta has. She is one in a million. The kind treatment she gets is why. You all love her and it shows. Have safe delivery and perfect health to you and your foal.

March 6 Cherokee Devotional
If you have done something wrong, it is right to be sorry. It is right to feel remorse. If possible, make amends, even if it is only to express sorrow. After you have done these things, don’t let anything cling to you that says you must continue to feel guilt and remorse. The negatives of life will try to distract you and lead you down the wrong path. Take charge and strive to do what is right. Guard your mouth, even if you have to force yourself to be totally quiet for long periods. No one is perfect, but strive to overcome the desire to hurt and put others down. Remember that what we do comes back to us like an echo in a deep canyon.
The Creator made us to learn by trial and error.

Oh, Zenny, I just wish every mare had the love and concern that you do. We are pacing and praying, pacing and praying. It’s a good thing we have time zones. Otherwise, the internet might crash from all the Dumplings checking in first thing in the morning!
Our love to Ziconic and Coz and hugs to all, with thanks for keeping us in the loop.

@Elizabeth in New Mexico….LOVED the poem…
….
PACE…PACE….PACE…
darn there goes another pair of shoes
Elizabeth in New Mexico
Dear Carol,
Just got back from our daily early a.m. hike, so got lots of pacing energy used up. Taking a short breather, than back to pacing. Zenny should have stock in the ‘shoe’ business! So excited for her new foal to arrive. She’s the best Mom! Thanks for your kind remarks about the poem – had to sit for awhile between pacing, so wrote a poem!
Happy pacing today,
with love, Elizabeth
PS not sure, but I think I might have caught my husband doing some pacing too!
Sally B. (Auntie cherishes Z and her young)
Just checking in. I know all will be fine Z.

Dear Kathy.Very wise words today. We all have to move on after an apology. No one is perfect in the human world and I have made many mistakes but always regret.
Blue 24 and her cousin Blue 5F spent the day at Glaslyn yesterday. It’s worrying Mr G has not returned yet. There is definitely a shortage of males here.Such a shame some of Monty’s boys haven’t returned.Betsy’s surgery has begun they are starting on her legs Viktor has got about 3000 new likes since her story was posted,Please pray for her she has been through hell.
Lucca was all over our news yesterday she looked so proud receiving her medal.
I posted a link on the previous post about Denman appearing at Wincanton racecourse on Monday.Charlotte was dressed in his racing colours.I have shared it on my FB take a look at him having a gallop. He really is enjoying life and looks so well. The ratties enjoyed their beams and starberries.Dolly is having trouble with Facebutt but had a beautiful dress on.Felix has had a box full of treats from her friend Nemo in the US!Lucky girl.Gorgeous pics of Zenyatta she is determined to keep everyone waiting.Hope you have a good day.Thinking of you as you mourn Holly.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Exciting times at the Dyfi. Too bad there’s a male shortage. Prayers going up for Betsy. Loved Lucca’s story. What a wonderful dog! Will look for your post about Denman. The ratties really celebrated Rat’s Day in style. Dolly looked fantastic in her dress. Just breathtaking. Hope Felix enjoys all the treats. Yes, all the pics of Zenyatta are wonderful. You have a good day as well. I appreciate all your kind and loving thoughts. You’ve been wonderful. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Wow! Did everyone look @ photo #2 carefully? You can actually see the foal moving under Zenny’s skin, forming a U shape. At first I thought it was only a shadow. But when I zoomed in on the photo on my cell phone, you can clearly see that’s it’s baby!
Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Abigail:
We are of like mind. I mentioned in my post on Page 1 that I thought I could see the outline of Z’s baby maybe getting ready to move into foaling position. Too cute! Love and Hugs, JB
