Happy Sunday!
Team Z arrived at Lane’s End yesterday to await the arrival of Zenyatta’s third foal. At the farm, horses and people alike are enjoying perfect spring weather, green grass and sunshine. These photos offer a glimpse of how we spent our weekend.
Fans can look forward to a blog post announcing major news. In the meantime, check our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (or look here on the right side of the blog) to keep up to date with our visit.
Enjoy!

Dear Kathy.I love beavers they have been introduced back into the wild in Scotland and are doing well.It seems Blue 24 has won the battle of the Dyfi although I still haven’t given up hope of Glesni trying a 3rd time I feel so sad for her. This will be Monty’s 3rd mate since 2011,his 1st Nora sadly perished after the 2012 season.Monty is a real stud!!Loved the fact Marty watches our “Miranda”I wouldn’t have imagined it being popular in the US.Fubu is doing well these days playing and eating.Joey certainly gets a good life in the studio, think Tom is his favourite.Did you get to see the moon in your part of the world last night?Have seen pics of it ,looks beautiful.Have a great day.Hugs to You,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’ve always admired beavers’ dam-building abilities. Great little animals. Hang in there Glesni! We’re rooting for you!I’ll have to try to find Miranda. It’s really heartwarming to see Fubu doing well. Joey has raised $1600 for his play room so far. Loved the pic of Boo and his blue watering can. I don’t think it’s possible for him to take a bad picture. I was sleeping but they showed the moon on the news. I think it’s supposed to be red tonight so I’ll try to see that. Have a great day. Hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Sugar and Nikko. Kathy

Team Z,
Thank you for sharing this experience with us! Watching Ann, Jerry, Charles, Z and 13Z all relaxing, and all smiles in the spring sunshine, makes us beam equally. Ann looks like she is going to split in two with joy!
Team Z and Lane’s End do a great job of being ambassadors of Z, and spreading the soul-expanding experience! MAGIC.

Good Morning Team Z and fellow nannies. Well, I think now, at least I have a chance!! My contest entry is the 16th at 11:45 PM. Fingers, toes and all 3 of my horses (plus Lone Justice who was mine and might be again) hooves crossed!!!
Yesterday I thought I thanked everyone in Team Z but i missed a whole group!! Thank you the California part and New York part of Team Z–all of you those who cared for her in SoCal and those of you who are there now caring for John’s other horses in SoCal (especially for Eblouissante who will run Saturday in a big stakes race at Santa Anita) and those of you who are now caring for John’s new string in New York, most especially Mario Espinoza, Zennys beloved groom, and his wife, who was Zenny’s hot walker and Steve. Willard, who was Zenny’s exercise rider. Also we thank the family who raised her and who she still remembers!! (Proven when they came to visit her and she did one of her famous whirlaround and stand and stare things at them saying, “Where have you been?” ) She forgets nothing and no-one, ever. I know because every time we went to see her, she lit right up and greeted Melody and I. (and it wasn’t just for carrots)
Zenny, our thoughts and prayers are with you and Life is Sweet and Tasty Temptation. So, Pregnant Ladies, Have a happy, happy and baby filled day/night/week. And Ann and Jerry, Thank you once again for all that you do for us and for so very many other horses apart from Zenny’s family and those that you are racing now, but for those that you rescue. You are truly the poster kids of thoroughbred owners par excellence.. You do it ALL the right way. Moss horses are all so well cared for!!! I know.
All of our love and continued admiration, Marilyn, Melody and Skip Braudrick
P.S. Yes, I know I am the Queen of the run-on sentences, Sorry!! There’s just so much excitement right now!!

Dear Sally:
Go to the right side of the Blog at the very top of the page, just to the right of Z’s name. There are three symbols: an f (for Facebook), a little bird symbol (for Twitter) and a little camera symbol (for Instagram). Click on anyone and you will go to the most recent of each. Team Z posts the most recent Instagram as soon as they can. I just happened to check and found the new one before they had a chance to post it on the Blog. Pace, pace, pacing. Love and Hugs, JB

Hi all, Checking in again. Nothing happening yet but it could be tonight. The photos of the (pink/blood) moon I saw on the internet are beautiful but no chance of seeing the eclipse here with cloudy skies sending rain and snow!! Stresses me right out to see it snowing!!! Had enough this winter.
Love to you Zenyatta and to your good friend Life is Sweet.
Hugs to all,

13Z is maturing into to an absolutely beautiful horse. His head is gorgeous and so wonderfully sculpted. He looks so masculine. Unbelievable. Can there be more photos of him which we could be post to our Facebook pages? Abysis such a talented photographer.
The photos of Ann with Zenyatta and 13Z are wonderful. It is very obvious how proud and loving Ann is of Zenyatta and 13Z. Both Ann and Jerry must be wonderful people!
So great they came from California to be with Zenyatta for the foaling. Pray all goes well.
Dona
Am just heart broken at the news of my Flag dying after foaling. She was 21 years old!!!
How greedy can anyone get? She earned money racing, she produced winners as a broodmare and yet they still breed her till she dies. She more than earned a chance to live out her life in comfort. This just slaps you in the face with the reality of the business and reminds us (as if we needed it) how fortunate we are that the Moss family owns our beloved girl.
Am waiting for the birth and the joy that will come with it but my heart is very heavy at
the moment. God love you and comfort you My Flag.

I’m getting so excited and nervous for this baby! I hope it’s a filly, but most of all that it’s a safe birth for both mom and baby. Zenyatta looks fantastic, she is just beautiful. She always looks so happy when her human family is there with her. I hope she foals soon, I can barely sleep with the anticipation!
Happy and healthy foaling Queen Z :)

Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Oh Zenny, just checking in again and you still have a bump…….pace, pace, pace. Well maybe tonight seeing as you like to stay up late, ha, ha.
Rip beautiful My Flag, so sad to lose such a priceless mare as she was. Sympathies to all concerned.
Just makes me worry that things CAN go wrong even though Zenny is at one of the best farms around. Praying for a SAFE delivery….that’s all I ask.
Kisses on noses to all and prayers for all the mares waiting to deliver.

I just checked the weather for Versailles, Ky and it is supposed to be 26 degrees tonight. Maybe Zenyatta is waiting to have this baby until the weather gets better!!!!! When will that ever be??? It is pouring rain and cold here in Massachusetts.

Heard about My Flag on Racing Post.God bless her.Still breeding at 21??RIP Hugs Sheena.
Max
Sheena. My Flag was owned by Ogden Phipps and cared for by Claiborne. These are top people. How long a mare can be bred and raise her foals varies with the health of the mare. There are no absolutes. It’s a case by case decision. Some mares can have foals well into their twenties.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max, Sheena and Z Fans:
I guess you just never know what can happen, no matter the age of the mare; as we all saw with Rachel in 2013. It just seems more risky into their twenties; that’s why I worry about Vertigineux too. Love and Hugs, JB
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Worry about Vertigineux too, I believe she’s nineteen now. Love and Hugs, JB

Judy B. Coz shares a birthday with V. Red shares with Z. Who will share with 14? That is the question.
Don’t worry too much about V. Coolmore will take care of her. She’s in good hands. And she is from the Roberto line. They are all strong horses. Smart too.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Do you think Z might wait for my birthday on Friday. I would be thrilled, but I don’t think so. Most likely will be sooner. Thank you for your comforting words. You are right; I know the Roberto line is strong and very smart. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Friday is Good Friday so that it is possible.
Max
JudyB. Something Royal had a baby at 18. Secretariat.

Judy fingers crossed that Zen has her baby on your birthday! It would be hard personally to have to wait that long but it would be really cool. And maybe the weather will get better!
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Pam:
Thanks. It would be lovely if Z’s foal is born on my birthday, but it will probably be sooner than Friday. Pace, pace; just wishing for a safe foaling and healthy baby. Love and Hugs, JB
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
You are so right. If they had decided not to breed Something Royal that year, we would not have had Big Red.
I don’t know; I have a feeling Z will foal within the next two days. Pace, pace. Love and Hugs, JB
Deb E.
Zennie looks so happy to see her Mom and Dad. She’s such a gentle soul; she doesn’t have any problem with the Mosses stroking her swollen tummy or “talking” to her baby. Some mares wouldn’t allow that kind of contact when they’re close to foaling, but not Our Queen Z! And I look forward to seeing another set of pictures of Ann and Jerry right in the stall with Zenyatta and her new foal moments after the birth, as usual! What an extraordinary bond the Mosses and Zenyatta have!
13Z, you are the spitting image of your 3-times great grandpa, and he was a sight to behold!
Dona
Judy and fans of My Flag,
