Why You Don’t Have To Hurry Today
I stare out the window into the backyard. From my breakfast table I can see a summer robin fluffing out her feathers. The trees reach up to the sky with new leaves that wave good morning. A chubby squirrel gathers a few acorns to save for later. As I look, I realize the pace beyond my windows is so different than the one within them. We, as humans, are tempted to hurry. And yet it seems God is intent on slowing us down.
He gives us a Sabbath and we work through the weekend.
He gives us three meals a day to let us slow down and we pick fast food. He gives us eight hours of sleep a night and we try to squeak by on far less.
We hurry when we’re afraid that we’ll be late, miss out on something, or disappoint someone. God doesn’t need to hurry because He has all the time in eternity.
God is okay with where you are right now. The God who loves you is willing to give you the time you need. All of time belongs to Him and He is generous with it. He gives it freely to fluffy birds and friendly trees and chubby squirrels. And He’ll give it to you.

Thank you Alys and Team Z for the beautiful photos of Zenyatta, 13Z and 13LIS! You made my day! It is cute that those two are good friends. Maybe someday they’ll be racing against each other just like their mother’s did.

Dear Max Yes, of course, Guy Fawkes.Maybe Moose needs a rocket to get him going! Cue Card won he race last year. For me it holds sad memories, it was the race in which our beloved Best Mate died on Nov 1s 2005. Hope Moosie stays safe. Hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. I would rather see Moosie refuse to move a hoof in that race than see something bad happen to him. He’s already a winner to his loyal fans like us. We can forgive anything in relation the Moose. I’m going to be thinking about this until he’s safely back to his stable, that is if he leaves the stable.

Dear Vampress Queen So very sorry to hear about your paralysis. Can understand why you prefer the pain, miracles do happen,if anyone deserves one ,you do. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.God bless Hugs Sheena

Never ceases to amaze me of the strength and courage animals possess.
God Bless this woman who found her. She will enjoy her remaining years as it should be.

This is a wonderful story with a few heroes thrown in. Bless the woman who nurtured this horse and brought her back to life. However, there are some in this story not so heroic. How did this mare get from Finger Lakes to the Cayman Islands? It would be interesting to look up her race record and then find out something about the odyssey that brought her there.. I remember the quote from the Tom Smith character in Seabiscuit. Every horse is good for something.
Janet Newman
Terry,
I wondered the same thing about the Cayman Islands angle.

Dear Janet Am in tears as I read this story. What on earth happened to her original owner. Why oh why are people so heartless.Thank God we are not all made the same, this mare had the will to live and now she can thanks to this wonderful woman who showed a living creature some kindness. Hugs Sheena
Terry Crow
Sheena-Agree with your comments. Yes, it is great that this kind woman found this horse and made a difference in the mare’s life. But, what about the people who allowed this to happen?

Dear TC GP and Janet:
This video is about two years old I think. It was a special on PBS and she was eleven years old then. She was eight years old when she first started entering talent competitions. She finished second in 2010 on America’s Got Talent when she was 10. Hugs, JB

Today, God’s message for you is to give yourself some time. Whether you need time to think it over, time to heal, time to have fun, or time for doing nothing whatsoever, it’s yours if you just give time to yourself.

Great article on Bloodhorse.com celebrating Zenyatta. Still gives me chills up my spine watching this race. Wish I could have been there in person.
Then there was the matter of her running style, loping along behind her field before igniting a sustained drive, employing huge strides to inexorably close the distance between herself and her targets. And there was her giant physical stature of more than 17 hands, the machinery from which those great strides sprung.

As I have posted before, I was in a race book in Las Vegas the day of the BCC in 2009. I struck up a conversation with a man who was sitting next to me. He commented that it was amazing that, with Z’s running style, how she had never run into traffic in her races which would have made her get stopped and cause her to lose. As we know she never lost. I told the man that she had a great rider on her who knew her well and could be trusted to make the right decisions during a race. After all, I said, he isn’t in the Hall of Fame for nothing. And, I added, you have not seen anything yet. I then told him that this was great chance to cash a reasonable bet because her odds would be much higher than usual. After the race was run, and Z was being led back to the winner’s circle, everyone in the race book stood and cheered. The man looked at me and grinned. He then said you were right. I had not seen anything yet.

When it comes to the Queen, there is always a reason to post things more than once, because she means so much to everyone. She makes us weep with joy just talking about her.
She will always be UN-BE-LIVE-ABLE!!!!

Here is an old chestnut that I hope you enjoy. An old man was arrested for shoplifting a can of peaches at a grocery store and taken to court. When he appeared before the judge, the judge asked him why he had stolen the peaches. He said that he had forgotten his wallet and he was hungry. The judge then asked “How many peaches were in the can?” “Nine,” the man replied. “Then I will sentence you to nine days in jail,” the judge said. Just then the man’s wife jumped up and said ‘Your honor, may I be heard?” “Certainly,” the judge replied. The wife then said “He also stole a can of peas,”

Hi all Zsters! Oh…my…God…24/7 with Mia, the german sheperd after major surgery, no steps, we live in a multi level, no getting at the metal staples and stitiches, Mia hated the “cone”, and so it was a truly long miserable haul on her road to recovery. My husband did help too. It is funny, it is my sons dog and she ingested things at his house not mine.
BUT, this past Sat. the metal staples etc. came out. Celebration time! Not yet. I am still picking through her poops to find a remaining one inch pipe cleaner the vet was unable to find in her intestines but showed on xray. Mia had to be watched so she did not get to the area for another 3 days, can not walk more than a block or two for three weeks. She wishes to go on her jaunts and she can not. I actually do not know what has happened to my days.
I do know, she appears now to be doing well, has become her playful self and that is priceless !!
I do not have to watch her every minute and so it sure feels great to come here and see these beautiful pictures from Alys!! Then to find the Zenyatta Celebration today too!! Wow.
Have a fun Breeders Cup and may all the horses be safe.

Hi & good nite zsters ♥
happy halloween queen z. i hope u & ur boys get lots of treats :)
Today, Vampressqueen, we believe God wants you to know that …
it’s okay to say no.
It is better to do a few things well than a bunch of things shoddily. If you are feeling overwhelmed, don’t take on anything more. It’s okay, and you might be giving someone else a chance to get involved. You don’t have to be all things to all people; a few things to a few people will be just fine.
@terry crow – loved ur story :) & funny joke
@sally blank- glad mia is ok & will cont topray for her recovery

Always so happy to see new pics of the Queen and her broad, tanx to all the Queen’s team at Lanesend for making it possible especially Alys.. I especially loved the 3rd frame featuring the young Prince and his lady friend. Those eyes of his are something to behold. So Fierce and fearless. He will be a fearless Racer and take no prisoners. From his eyes you can see he has a big, no, Huge heart. The Eyes have it and tells the story of his persona.
How is Prince CoZmic One doing in school, he is smart so am sure he is doing good. Praying for him everyday. It is well.
Glad to hear Mia is on the mend!, to God be the Glory.
@ Vampressqueen, how are you?, glad to see your post.
To all, have a wonderful Breeders Cup weekend and hope to see you all at the Queen’s party and at the races.
A restful night is wished you all. To the Queen of hearts, good night to you and your broad. hope you are getting enough rest and staying hydrated. LOL. It is well.
