Happy Thursday!
Zenyatta and her Tapit colt have new paddock mates at Lane’s End. Alys snapped the first photo of the group, and we’ll post some more once the little ones get to know each other.
We have an video interview to share today. Dr. Holder, who was present at the April 1st foaling, met up with us at Lane’s End the following day to talk about Zenyatta. You’ll also see a sneak peak of our footage from the night of the foaling—there’s more of that to come along with our next round of video interviews!
Enjoy!

Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday, hope you enjoyed it. As I said before, Trina, I don’t know how you do it all and then find time to record info and write poems for us all.
Hope you enjoy the messages of love everyone sent.
I am picking my Preakness horses so I’m on record, hope I don’t jinx any of them:
1. Orb
2. Departing
3. Oxbow
I pray for safe trips for all horses and jockeys
Hugs to my big Mama and her two gorgeous boys. Zenny you’ll always be my #1 Auntie Sue

You might be a redneck if you are related to everyone living within five miles of your house. You might be a redneck if you have a four door car and only one of them works. @VIcki B–One of your old favorites. You might be a redneck if your living room furniture was on someone’s curb yesterday.

Yes, Terry, that is very familiar. A few weeks after my mom passed three years ago, we did not waste time, putting her old favored, flowered sofa at the curb. I thought it might set awhile… but within about 90 seconds, two guys from down the block inspected it, picked it up and walked away with it. It was still in good shape, just not my style, at all.
Since then, I have been looking periodically to replace that sofa, but wanted something better — and opportunity finally “walked” in, three weeks ago, as some friends were moving and couldn’t take their excellent sofa with them to a smaller place, so I now have acquired my “better” one.

Vicki-Hope I didn’t offend you. You are one of my favorite people.

Not at all, Terry — why would you think that? I feel the same way. I thought my couch story might be a bit funny, as you were making a joke, and I turned around and proved the truth of it!
Ingrid Arnone
ORB, was one of my favorites on the Derby, now he is my number one pick!
I think he is going to be the Triple Crown winner!
Good luck to all you Zenny’s fans!
Moreover, to you my adorable Zenny, My love is endless, for you and for your beautiful babies!
Hugs and kisses! Xoxoxoxoxo!
Ingrid.

Nunthorpe winner Ortensia retired to stud
By Peter Scargill RacingPost 8:22AM 18 MAY 2013
Australia: Ortensia, a Group 1 winner in three different countries including Britain, has been retired.
Ortensia became the latest star sprinter to emerge from Australia when she followed up her win in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes in Australia with a scintillating defeat of Sole Power in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint on Dubai World Cup night last year.
Travelling over to Royal Ascot with her more illustrious compatriot Black Caviar, Ortensia disappointed in the King’s Stand Stakes before heavy ground scuppered her chances when fourth in the July Cup.
However, with the sun came a resurgence in form from Ortensia and she snared both the Group 2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and the Group 1 Coolmore Nunthorpe at York.

OMG I could just cry, I can’t imagine what happened to Orb! We will not have a TC horse again this year. I must congratulate Gary Stevens and Oxbow on a great win. Everyone had Orb as an easy winner…….maybe that was the kiss of death.
Terry Crow
It appeared to me that Orb just didn’t like the track. If he runs in the Belmont, I would expect that he will reverse things and win easily.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
On the replay down the stretch, Orb had plenty of room, the winning three were aways ahead of him, but he just didn’t or wasn’t able to step on the gas. His jockey after was saying something about him just not moving well, in the middle, and he didn’t seem to think there was any reason.
Terry Crow
Very astute comment. Like I said before, I don’t think he liked the track.

Terry, I just got the chance to respond to your comments a couple of days ago, about Hollywood Park’s demise. Turns out the Indians did bid on it, when Churchill Downs was selling it to Bay Meadows!

Vicki–Thanks for posting this. This is a very interesting situation. One can only speculate about what kind of a handshake deal the Indians had with our former governor. Did he assure them about being able to “guide” legislation through that would enable the tribe or tribes to have gambling on the Hollywood Park site After all, they are only allowed to have gambling on tribal lands. For whatever reason, the Indians were not successful. It is also noted that, after this happened, there was a measure on The California ballot which enabled certain tribes to increase the number of slot machines they controlled. This whole thing has a smell to it. I wonder if Woodward and Bernstein would be interested.
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Woodward and Bernstein, indeed! That’s funny, Terry, but I don’t know any more. I want to run this by my brother, probably see him sometime this week, and see what he thinks. I haven’t told him about Dwyre’s latest, so he probably doesn’t know yet that that the Indians were in the bidding. I’ll let you know, what I find out.
Karen G. is also involved with the FB page group trying to save HP, they were making more noise about a week ago, but have been quiet the past few days, so I have to check if the effort all died or what.

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many
months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?

Wonderful video! I love the insight from those close to her. Thanks Dr Holder for taking such great care of our Queen! :)
