Happy Wednesday!
While recently in Kentucky for the Keeneland Yearling sales, Dottie and John went by the farm to say hello to Zenyatta and to meet “Baby Z”. John was tickled when Zenyatta came right over to say hello, and watching baby 12Z running in the paddock with his friends was pure delight! It was great time for all.
Enjoy the photos from their visit!

Hi!
I am eager to see the Zenyatta Stakes race on Saturday (Sept 29, 2012), and to
get a view of the life-size statue of Zenyatta at San Anita Park.
Lise from Maine
Pati- gradually losing sleep over BC!!!!!
The stakes race is going to be a freak of a race. Switch is trying to win the race named after the horse that beat her. Lol Oh the irony!
Lise from Maine
Hi!
When will the baby be named?
Any contest to name the baby as happened with Rachel’s baby? His name is
Jess’s Dream.

What is everyone going to do with 2 unnamed

This unnamed foal issue is common, but the public
Does not realize it goes on.
How are they going to untrain 12 Z to NOT LOOK
AT the camera for his conformation photos.
My Vizshla boy is soo hyper, he is trained so he
Is only given a treat when he does not move. Tried
To train him to shake hands impossible. He knows
He better not move to get a treat and he dosen’t.
He will never shake hands, oh well.

Good Job Sign, I get a giggle eveytime I see that question now, and of course I wait and let you answer it. Someone asked the question on facebook the other day, and I just laughed, I started to answer, but thought no, that is Sign’s job, lol.

HAHA! You did Fabulous! Won’t it just be a kick in the pants if for some ODD reason the Mosses decide to break tradition! It seems like every 3-4 pages you have to kindly remind us when and what year our precious, gangly, big eared prince will be named! I almost get upset now if someone doesn’t ask this question, because then I won’t get to read your famous speech! (which by

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a special day this is, our illustrious GP, purveyer of the greatest redneck jokes, leader of the pack, having such a great sense of humor……was born. I want you to know, as of 1:15 CST, I have flushed my toilet 12 times in your honor. (of course I should mention I’ve also had a pot of coffee…….but I digress). I send my prayers for your situation to improve, and a big hug and as I tell Zenny and EARnie, a kiss on your soft nose, ha, ha. Max
Sign. There are two great existential questions which confront us each day: what is the meaning of life, and when will 12Z be named? With you on the case, we can at least relax about the second one.

Thank you so very much. It’s a great feeling to know he’s safe and I’m pretty sure Angela (Foster Mom) is going to adopt him for her very own riding horse. I’ll know for sure in a couple of weeks. I have a question…….Where is Bernardini? I mean what stable is he at? I have to give my boy a shout out if it not be for him and his handsome good looks we would not have such a handsome prince!
I have to laugh very time you mention 13Z being a grey filly! When my daughter and I go to the track she WILL NOT bet on any grey horses, however the stables we ride at she will only ride this one grey! (Figure that out?) She is a very strange and very unusual child! Not me I will bet on any horse I like and ride any horse as long as he/she is big, I feel safer on the bigger horses, even though they take one look at me and automatically want to put me on a smaller horse! (Not happening!!!!) I know stables try to match horse with person size, I understand that and respect that, but I like them big, I just feel safer!!!!!
Have the Mosses indicated or mentioned what they might do with 13Z? I am guessing that if it is a girl they may keep her? (one of each) I guess that too will be a waiting game.!

GS,
Bernardini is as Darley USA. I will post his link and he is quite the looker,
If I were a horse, I would marry him as his yearly income in $19 million.
Zenny was soo lucky to have a great date with him.
I am not very fond of grey horses because they are sooo much work to keep clean. But a grey filly would be very fitting for Zenny to have. My favorite grey TB are the retired Winter Memories, Zazu and of course our independent career woman (racing that is) Tasty Temptation.
The Mosses will most likely keep all of Zenny’s “children”, maybe sell the grandchildren. I am sure they are interested in the “family” she will create
and the boost in their racing stock and breeding stock. Her offspring are really priceless just like she is.

Hey Sign, Bernie might be in Australia right now. I talked to Darley in the Spring and they said he would probaly be leaving in July. Went out on my late lunch hour,(I get it about 3!) to see and feed the babies. They are so cute when they hear, and then see,my little sports car! Have been feeding them early as I don’t get off work until 7 and it’s starting to get darker early–also, when daylight savings goes off,it will be even darker! They had watermelon again today,so they loved that. Traveller is so funny, she has decided that she wants the rind trimmed off now so when I slice it,I trim it for her. Barnaby loves the rind too!
Sue just called me to tell me that Traveller has been scheduled for and exam and ultrasound next Friday at 10AM. I am trying to arrange to take that day off so I can be there to help. I get a day off for my birthday and I can’t think of a better way to use it,even though it’s not on the actual day. We can take any day we want. It’s nice that they give us that benefit. The vet is bringing portable stocks, which will be great,as she is so flighty. She really responds to my talking to her from right in front of her when she is upset. I think I kind of hypnotize her talking directly to her in a calm voice. Will keep you posted on how that all goes!!
I saw Rita today, here at the store, and asked her about the saddle. She said “of course you can try it–you can use it any time–and ,if you like it we can talk about your buying it”. I was hoping she might be able to get another horse someday, but she has some back issues that preclude her riding again. What a shame, horses were once a very big part of her life. She loves having our horses at her place ,as she can watch them and visit them and give them treats–which,of course, they love. She is a lovely and very generous lady ( a REAL LADY!!) and we are so fortunate that she enjoys our babies so much!! At any rate,I hope to try the saddle this Saturday and will you know what Barnaby thinks about it. I would think he would like it because it is very light, but,we’ll see!
@Sandy–Happy Birthday to you too!!! Fun to share a birthday with the illustrious Grand Poobah!!

SHERR wa recently part of a seizure of animals. All the details will be posted as soon as I get to my computer, but it was horrible. Just to give you a sense on how bad the situation was, the woman’s granddaughter lived in a wooden “homemade” shack with the dogs… And slept on six inches of dog feces, which gave her a permanent, vile odor. Which the daycare never reported to anyone about. How messed up is that? I will have a blog post soon.

Dear Pati:
How heartbreaking is this. If the poor baby was living like that, I shudder to think of the conditions of the animals. Hugs, JB

@QueenOfSuites: Here are four of the lucky ones to be rescued from the Person County raid. Please donate to Safe Haven in High Point. http://t.co/ogJ3KQ19
These pictures were taken from their good side. They are in worse shape than this picture shows.

Sandy,
Happy happy birthday!
Did you have a store-bought cake to celebrate?
Hope you had a day filled with special moments.

Terry, Happy Birthday, my friend. I hope it’s been a good one — it looks like, as i’ve just seen you all over today’s pages here. May the coming year bring you good luck and fine health!

Now my day is complete. It just would not have been the same without hearing from Vicki, one of my favorite people.

Yes, I felt the similarly, Terry, that I was glad I had checked in here last night, in time to wish you Happy Birthday, before the day was over. I would have felt like I’d dropped the ball, otherwise — even though some days, I just don’t get here.

ALWAYS good to hear from you when you do get here.

Dear Vicki B,
How are those grapes doing, looking forward to some jelly or at least
one grape.
Wear your cowboy boots. !!!
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
Sign, that’s funny. I have to go check out the grapes, before the ants eat them all, I haven’t been able to do that yet this week. But I have some stored in the fridge, and have been snacking on them a little, for several weeks. Thanks.

Belmont Race 4 was won by D”Tiger. Announcer said 20 lenghts.
It was actually 18 1/2
Andy Serling NYRA tweet: D’Tiger gets a 103 Beyer for his 18 1/2 length romp in a $16K Maiden claimer today. Just how strong was that rail today?
Keta tweet to Andy
Andy, so glad the someone noticed D’Tiger. That was quite a race. Expected more buzz about it. Was he claimed?
Andy’s response tweet
He was not claimed. That was one of those odd gold rail performances unlikely to be even remotely duplicated going forward.
Keta Note; Ah, but what if it wasn’t a fluke?
Terry Crow GP
Good question. Andy Beyer always though Zenyatta was not so special because of her figures. Big Beyer figures are usually earned by speed horses.
Pati- gradually losing sleep over BC!!!!!
Andy Beyer is a hypocrite (sp?)
He hated Barbaro, gave him pedestrian numbers, and then spouts about Union Rags who was practically his twin. Even Matz though UR was very similar to Barbaro.
Oh well, it ended better for the lady party anyway. Beyer has his not so very touted numbers many don’t take seriously and Zenyatta has a legion of fans, a Gr.1 Win and You’re In race in her honor and a statue. Zenyatta: 3 Beyer: 1/2ish
Teehee.

Re: SANDY in NE Ohio’s birthday
Please allow me to clarify a small confusion. Our dear Sandy’s birthday falls on a 27th, but hers is in November–in her post she was expressing her delight at sharing “the 27th” with Terry Crow, regardless of their different months.
Love in Dumplinghood to all—

Dear Trina:
Thanks for this info. I’ll make a note of Sandy’s Birthday. Hugs, JB

Thanks Trina. And to think that writing “clearly” used to be one of my talents :-(

Dear Trina and Sandy,
I’m sitting here with a bright red face again (it’s getting to be a habit, I’m afraid) because of my unreliable memory. I really had it etched in my head that Sandy’s birthday was Sept. 27th without reading her comment regarding Terry’s birthday. With Darlene Daniels’ birthday being the 22nd and they’re both nurses, it fit and I swore to it. So, if you see a red glow in the direction of Colorado, it’s just me being embarrased.
Thank you ladies for so gently correcting my goof. I still hope you had a happy day, Sandy. Marty R.
