Happy Wednesday!
While recently in Kentucky for the Keeneland Yearling sales, Dottie and John went by the farm to say hello to Zenyatta and to meet “Baby Z”. John was tickled when Zenyatta came right over to say hello, and watching baby 12Z running in the paddock with his friends was pure delight! It was great time for all.
Enjoy the photos from their visit!

Ahhhh. so nice to see . A real treat this morning to see that all is well.
My upcoming trip to Ky is around the corner and I’m frantically making reservations to visit farms, KHP, trying to fit it all in. Quick trip. Still shaking my head and wondering how very lucky I am to be one of the folks that gets to go see RA on Friday, Oct. 12. I truly am blessed.
As thrilled as I am to meet her , dear Zenyatta you will always be number one in my heart.
I will think of you as I’m sure I’ll be driving by Lane’s End. Hoping to see your baby Daddy, Bernardini. Working on tours right now.
Love to you and baby Z.

Hi Delrene!
Hopefully, when you visit the KHP, Cigar will roll in the dirt for you…(like he did for me!) He loves the attention lol
I understand his latest “trick” during the show is to stick his tongue out :-P because it gets laughs :o)))
JAG
p.s. Yes, I understand your admiration for Rachel, as I’ve loved her, too. But, is Zenyatta is #1 in our ♥. Have fun!

Delrene,
Hope you have a fabulous trip……so many barns and stallions to see. LE has their new stallions so be sure and stop there. Claibourne is a great tour so much history there. The horse park is wonderful and you’ll get to see Cigar and others. I could rattle on and on but have a great trip and say ‘hi’ to all the guys for me. Hugs
Debbie G/Kentucky
Delrene, that’s so awesome that you get to see Rachel! I tried to get in to see her, but since I saw her last year they said they were just trying to get people in that had never seen her. You’ll love it there! Rachel and her BFF Hot Dixie Chick are real sweeties and the people at Stonestreet are so nice. When I went they gave everyone a photo of RA and an RA cookie! Too cute. I’m with you, I love Rachel dearly, but Zenyatta will always be number one in my heart.

On fb, it said: More individual pics to follow when they have a chance. I hope that means, pics of John with Z and the Prince. Would love a video too.
Zenny, you look so content and it looks like you’re getting a baby bump already. Two more days until your Statue is unveiled, Zenny!!! Man o Man, I miss the Diary: Dottie!!!
Prince: you sure are at that odd stage of growth. Man, those ears!! Will you ever grow into them? You’re pic looks very similar to that of Zenny when she was at that age. You’re going to be one big fella, that’s for sure!
SharonAtlanta
Hey, Delrene: Thanks for noting that more pictures are to come.
You’re thinking the same thing I was thinking when I saw the pic of 12Z. He is at that awkard stage of growth when nothing quite matches. Not that his ears have ever matched the rest of him. I think that’s a way down the road. He also still has that two-toned coat color. That all being said, he’s still adorable and I can’t wait to see him in a year when everything starts to match up. Even more exciting will be to find out if he is going to be a race horse or if his destiny will be in another direction. Perhaps he might be a dressage horse or a jumper. I do know that whatever his occupation will be, he will have such a huge following because we all will love him no matter what.

Dear Z Family:
So great to see photos of Dottie, Z and The Prince. You can really see Z’s baby bump already.
I have some very good news to tell you. I went to Suffolk Downs this morning and met Papa Charlie. I was able to pet him and all the horses in the shed row. I gave them each carrots and mints. I wanted to take all of them with me.
Papa was vanned to his safe place and arrived about 10:30 AM. He was very good and allowed Angela (foster Mom) to lead him out of the van and into a corral where he had a chance to get acclimated to his new surrounds. He was very curious and was answering the whinnies of all the horses in the surrounding paddocks. I am so happy to tell you that Angela will try saddling him in a couple of weeks and if all goes well, she will be adopting him as her very own riding horse. I could not be happier. Thank you all for your concern, kind thoughts and good wishes in my effort to find Papa Charlie a safe home. Hugs, JB

Judy,

Dear Judy: You have got to tell everyone the amazing story about Hudson Township too!

Dear Diana and Z Fans:
Yes. There was another horse, a mare called Hudson Township, that the trainer asked us to take along with Papa. He changed his mind three times in a week and tried to sell her. I found out yesterday that he did sell her, but I didn’t know to whom. All of our group were concerned for her.
When I got to the track this morning I asked PC’s trainer who he sold HT to and when he told me the woman’s name, I realized she was one of the people I had contacted about taking Papa. (We went to high school together and though we lost touch, she is a trainer and also does jumper/hunter shows and has rescued TB’s in the past). When I called her about Papa, she told me she had just purchased two TB’s from Suffolk Downs.
I found out this morning one of them is Hudson Township. Her farm is located in the back of the farm where Papa now lives. What are the odds! She was still at the track this morning, so I got to see her, pet her and feed her some carrots and mints. Once she gets here in R. I., I’ll call and ask if I can visit her.
Small world we live in.
Hugs, JB

Judy,
Does this mean that PC actually wound up somewhere NEAR you???? That would make the rescue even more spectacular. Great job and high hoof!

Hi,
Thank you for the pictures. Mama Z looks very happy and content. Have a question for the Moss’s and Dottie—-have you considered Zenyatta going to Ireland to meet/date/?! with Sea The Stars? or even consider Frankel for a potential mate?
Thanks again for the pictures. Anita Carter from NY
Paul
Zenyatta, how are you doing, girl? How’s your foal? John Shirreffs was really happy to see both of you while he was in town for the yearling sales. Your foal has got to be a big boy now.
Jan S. / Houston, TX
Thanks so much John & Dottie for the wonderful photos.
12Z sure is gawky looking. ;) Looks like he has a little attitude going on there too! Don’t grow into your ears buddy. They definently will be one of your trademarks. Mama Z looks marvelous. You can see Tappy is getting bigger in that tummy of hers.
Hope all of the Zsters are doing fine. :)

Weird! I noticed my name was hi-lighted – like I had a website. NOT! I just noticed there were links in the website box of the diary. How the heck that happened I do not know, but I’m typing this to clear that field! Hopefully, it won’t pop up again ;-)

Oh my.
That is perhaps not the most flattering picture we have seen of 12Z.
They do go through some wacky growth spurts.

Dear Zenny, 12Z, Dottie and John – thak YOU for these photos and the update. Zenny is looking FAB and glad to see the Baby bump going for 13Z – cannot believe we are already talking abou that!
And 12 – you look like you are entering the “terrible twos” – trouble :) but I be John cannot wait to have you at Barn 55 someday.
Glad everyone is doing so well and cannot wait for Zenny’s party at the Breeder’s Cup!!

WOW. no REAL pics since AUGUST 11 of Diamond Z. And can we get a VIDEO of 12Z RUNNING? I would love to see if he is as balanced as his Mom who never put a foot wrong.
The Queen definately has a round belly. When is she due? Cool weather coming soon so she will be more comfortable. Hope all continues to go well with both of them. I love and always will love the Queen. The Prince is going to be just that! He definately has her ears.
sue and tony
Wow, new pics of Zenny and 12Z! Of course Zenny went straight to John and Dottie…theirs is such a special bond. We hope 12Z is handled by John and feels the love and contentment that resides at Barn 55. Dottie looks great as usual.
Our love for Team Z continues to grow. God Bless all of them.

Thanks to John for these wonderful photos. He is and always will be the real Zenmaster.
Zenny will always remember John and Dottie and the love they all share.

OH thank you LE for the photos of Zen, EARnie and Dottie……they are wonderful. Big Mama looks quite lovely, getting her new baby bump. And EARnie, wow what a hunk he is going to be. The pasterns, the legs, the EARS!!! Did I mention the NECK!! I bet if we pulled up that pic of Zen as a baby there would be loads of similarities. Can’t wait for more pics and some of our dear John too.
Judy B, you are my hero!! What a great story of rescue and you played the main part.. I shall forever think of Papa Charlie as your horse and delight in any news you can give us. YOU made the difference in this horse’s life! God Bless you. Hugs
Kisses on my Queen’s nose and that handsome ( studdie ) EARnie’s too. Auntie Sue

My Dear Sue:
Thank you so much for your kind words. I love Charlie and our EAN ladies made the rescue possible because they are the most generous, caring group I have ever had the great luck to be a part of. Just like all of you when posts appear on Z’s Blog asking for help to save horses, they stepped up and now Papa Charlie is safe. I will be visiting him often and will be sure to let you know how he’s doing. Hugs, JB
HeidiK (Vallejo, Ca) aka DinkyDiva
Judy,, so glad you got Papa Charlie a good and safe place. The pic you posted before showed a horse neglected of the essentials. Just know that you helped in saving a life! Please, keep us updated on his condition and where abouts! Thank you!

What a great Wednesday, new pics of Zenny and 12Z with Dottie, thanks to John for the photos and fantastic news from Judy B about Papa Charlie and HT.
@ Delrene – Have a wonderful time in KY and please give Funny Cide a rub on the nose when you’re at the Horse Park. Try to stop by Three Chimneys if you can – it’s a great farm – I hope they’ve kept Dynaformer’s stall with the damaged bars he kicked out of shape.

RIP Andy Williams, hope you find your Moon River.
Marshall (NC broad)
Yes, Brenda — RIP Andy Williams.
What a talented and authentically nice gentleman. They don’t make’em like that anymore. More’s the pity.
His lyrical tenor and his trademark songs will always be with us.
I remember very well the Christmas Specials and how it wasn’t really the holiday season until Andy Williams appeared . He has found that “rainbow’s end waiting ’round the bend”, I am sure.
Take care!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Brenda and Marshall,
I’m right there with you. Andy Williams was one of my favorites too (right along with Perry Como – now I will be definitely be classed in the geriatric category!). I loved those Christmas specials too. Will have to play his Christmas CD. Thanks to both of you.
