Happy Friday!
For nearly three weeks now, Cozmic One has been able to call John Shirreffs’ barn at Belmont home. He’s settling into a relaxed training schedule, where he is permitted to learn and grow at his own pace.
We welcomed him off the truck from Ocala, FL at the end of March and met up with John and the crew at Barn 41 again yesterday. We hope you can share in our experience through the photos and videos below.
Enjoy!

THE ARRIVAL: MAY 25, 2014

Zenny, your firstborn is quite a good looking colt and seems to have inherited much of your personality. John and Dottie must be very excited to have Coz in their barn. Afterall, big girl, you left a void that will never be replaced although Coz certainly will make his own place in everyone’s hearts, too.

Sheena. Great photos. Glad that this foal and his momma have found a very good home. My bet is that she may have a future date with Galileo after the second Frankel foal arrives.
Free the Moose. Power up Danny. Power up CDA, Chromie and all others who are sick.
Beast, thinking of you. Tasty, call me.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sheena and Max:
Sheena, thank you for this wonderful photo of Frankel’s beautiful boy. Power Up Danny, CC, Beholder, ROC, CDA and all the horses that are ill or injured. Loose The Moose! Love and Hugs, JB
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.My thoughts exactly! He’s a beautiful colt and has a lot of his father’s characteristics. One of his mum’s colts is Caspian Prince who won on Derby weekend.I don’t think they’ve decided where to race him yet may not be Europe,it seems highly unlikely though given his father’s record on English turf.
I’m looking forward to RA tomorrow especially the St James Palace. The Royal family were out in full force for the Garter ceremony today.Free the Moose PU Dan and sick horses everywhere.Sheena.
Max
Sheena. His momma is an attractive looking mare. If anyone can train this foal to race, it’s Ballydoyle. He looks alert and feisty already. Interesting color too.
Royal Ascot should be interesting. I guess that Mission is sitting it out this year? Moosie was there last year until the beak.
Free the Moose! Power up Danny. Power up CDA, Chromie and all others who are sick. Reilly, that means you too.
Beast, keep up the training. Tasty, checking my email.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Thanks, Max — Reilly sends woofs, wags and puppy dog kisses!
Hugs

Matshall-We hope that your pup is living the life of Reilly. He and you deserve it.
Terry Crow
Of course that should be Marshall, nor Matshall.

Marshall (NC Broad)

Frankel foal fetches more than $2 million
Posted by: AAP+ Monday June 16, 2014
The first progeny of Frankel to be sold at public auction has fetched STG1.15 million ($A2.1 million) in a package which includes his mother Crystal Gaze.
Ireland’s Coolmore snapped up the colt and his dam who is in foal again to Frankel.
MV Magnier, son of Coolmore Stud owner John Magnier, began the bidding and kept going until he secured the pair.
“He has been bought for a racing partnership, and there are four different people in it,” Magnier said.
“It’s a nice, strong colt and the lads really liked it.”

Dear Especially Horses
I so wish I could get more of the New Mexico races. My favorite mare is there, Gabbiano. I met her when she was 2. Just love her dearly. I will look for Black N Beauty when I can find some of those races. Does he look like his sire? Devil His Due is so beautiful
I know Black N Beauty must be. If you find a link to a picture please post it here. Would just love to see him.
Especially Horses / So Cal
Peggy (N), hopefully the link below will work for you or you can paste it into your browser. Click on the little square icon with the horse in it (to the right of his name) and his photo will come up. He looks black. I wish I could find a better photo of him. He won three in a row, and then had a 2nd and 3rd last month. He is a hard knocking blue collar claimer, who has won over $300,000! I just love him and I wish I could own him.

Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Especially Horses.
The link worked for me that time. He is just gorgeous. He does look like his sire.
He looks more like Devil His Due than Roses in May does to me.
See why you like him so much. He and my Gabby might run into each other in New Mexico. I am worried about her as I haven”t heard anything in over a month from her. I get email alerts when she runs or works.
Have to hope they are just giving her a rest. Had a hard time finding her after she left New Jersey. Judy was a big help in finding her. She’s in claiming races too.
Don’t want to lose her again.
Will keep a look out for Black n Beauty
Soo glad you told me about him.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Max
Black n Beauty is Ontario bred. Isn’t he beautiful………………….
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Especially Horses,
Something interesting I found out. At first Devil His Due was offcially listed as Dk Brown, but was later changed officially to True Black.

Loved the video and photos of Coz! Thank you so much for posting them. He reminds me of his mom, especially from the side. He has some growing to do but he looks like a colt with plenty of potential.

June 17 Cherokee Devotional
How would we feel, what would we be doing or thinking if we were not in this situation? Strange as it sounds, these are questions that can guide us out of a place that is testing us severely. Just focusing outside a limited position helps us to see ourselves delivered and well. We must see it by using the same what-if that is so easy for us in negative ways. E gi ya ni ha, we are called, says the Cherokee, to use all our mental and spiritual resources to see ourselves free. It is never that we are sick and trying to get well-but that we are well and something is trying to make us sick. If we have a problem with a positive vision, then we can go back to being a child. Children have no trouble pretending. It is fun, it is joyful, and it raises the level of awareness to a healthy high so the body and mind can take over and restore and renew.
House made of dawn…restore my feet to me…Happily I recover…my interior becomes cool…As it used to be…I walk…In beauty it is finished.

I was thinking ahead. My favorite jockey of all time, even before my beloved ,
is Mike Smith, he is, and always has been known as a horses jockey. No horse has ever
been worse for mike having ridden it. He likes to get a chance to meet his horse and bond with it before he rides it. I truly hope you consider him for Coz. Loved the video,
the way he stood there and look at his surroundings , reminded me of his mother so much it made me cry, so regal. The first click of a camera an he looks toward it with his s
ears pricke forward, amazing so many qualities of his mother didn’t think all of those little things would ever be seen again Zenyatta is soooo special I havn’t been so moved since secretariat. I just had to put my vote infor Mike before he retires since Willie the shoe who I actually had the pleasure to meet Mike is my guy! Debbie. 6-17-14
Delrene from Carlsbad, CA
I do not know why, other than sheer emotions overwhelmed me after seeing this video of Zenyatta’s first-born out on the track, getting his bath, etc. I cried like a baby. He is just so handsome and knowing he is her firstborn perhaps that really hit me in my mama-genes. Thank you all for posting these photos and videos. Love seeing all her babies. Nice to see Dottie in the video too. Just a big thanks and now I’ll go get my Kleenex!!!!
Delrene from Carlsbad, CA
Lucky folks who get to see the Ascot on HRTV. Congratulations to Wesley Ward, Victor and Hoot!!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
It was on TVG too Delrene.

Dear Z Fans:
Was watching the videos of COZ again. Love in the last one how JS is walking him and he says “Whoa” and COZ stops on a dime. Love how gentle JS is in his training methods. They are bonding really well and it’s so obvious JS is overjoyed to have him. Also, when the assistant takes COZ into the barn, he yells “coming in”; everyone is so careful with this precious boy. No doubt they do that for all the horses when entering the barn. COZ couldn’t be in better hands. Love and Hugs, JB
Ann NC
Loving those videos, too, JB.
Incredible photo of, JS looking at Coz. Can’t you hear him now telling Coz great stories about his Mom. Wow.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Ann:
Absolutely, can imagine JS telling COZ about his Mama. Love and Hugs, JB
