Happy Monday!
Zenyatta, 13Z and Cozmic One were visited by Jerry and Dottie this weekend. It was a particularly special visit because they were there to see Coz off as he departed Lane’s End for Mayberry Farm in Florida. At Mayberry he’ll follow in his mom’s footsteps and focus on his new routine—learning to be a racehorse. Alys captured video of his departure for the fans.
The team spent time with Zenyatta, who is looking great and in foal to War Front. They also said hi to 13Z, who’s having a blast this fall with his buddies.
We’d like to thank Lane’s End for all of the time, enery, and love that they have put into Coz. For that, we are very grateful.
Enjoy!

Came home tired from the day, have tremendous head cold. Once I see Coz, Zenny and 13Z, I feel better.
Also got another boost when I saw that “little girl” the starved mare at Skip Away Trouble Rescue picked my name Destiny in the drawing today for her forever name.
I can look at our Queen and her boys and know they are loved and cared for. I see that same chance for Destiny. Just painful to know it was not that way for her from the start.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Feel better soon, Janet. Hugs. Congrats on getting your name chosen, and thanks loads for helping her.

Coz takes his first step in coming of age…..such grace and beauty, so loved by many. As he steps into his destiny we all take in a deep breath and look forward to his future. Yes, we are blessed to have this shared moment. Thanks to everyone for that first rate beginning.
Karen in Indiana
With Facebook, Twitter and their own web site for all the past, present and future fans to follow this family, has there ever been a bloodline of horse followed so avidly? Maybe Man O’War & War Admiral – I don’t know. It’s going to be hard waiting for Coz hitting the track.

Arc favourite Orfevre gears up for Longchamp
By Scott Burton RacingPost.com 8:57AM 2 OCT 2013
ORFEVRE, favourite to go one better than last year in Sunday’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, put the finishing touches to his preparation for Europe’s richest race on Wednesday morning.
The Yasutoshi Ikee-trained five-year-old, who runs in the colours of Sunday Racing Co Ltd, gave Japan another near miss in the Arc when he idled having looked in full control 12 months ago.

COZ, my beauty, I hope you had a comfortable trip to FLA and are safely ensconced in your new stall, making new friends on campus. I will have you in my prayers every night, as I do Zenny and Red, but especially for your safety while learning all the new things in your life.
Janet Neuman, I’m so happy for you that your name was picked, “Destiny”‘, for the little starved mare at Skip Over Trouble rescue. It will take a long time but I’m hopeful that Penny can bring her back from the brink, and she’ll blossom into the darling pony she should be. Bless your heart.
Happy Birthday to Anne, Sue N, and Casey, wow, three great people on the same day, how did that happen.
And Welcome back to Maureen and Trina. we haven’t heard much from you lately.

Thanks to Bluegrass Girl for posting the news that Mike Smith will be reunited with Game on Dude. Game on Dude got an excellent ride from his jockey last time out, I don’t mean to take anything away from that, but there’s a certain something special about Mike and the Dude together. I’m very much looking forward to the Classic.
Good luck and safe trip to Mike and the Dude!
Terry Crow
Rosemary-At least Mike will not have to make a decision between Royal Delta and Game on Dude this time. I have a feeling he will add to his record number of wins in the BC, although I must admit that I am pulling for MMM this time.
Rosemary McCauley
Terry: Thanks for your comment. I also am a fan of MMM – how can you not be with his obvious ability and his very touching backstory But if I have to chose a favorite between the two in the Classic – I have to go with the Dude . I believe he will win the Classic and not solely because of Mike – but the gutsy bay gelding works his way into your heart and I’m pulling for him.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Dear Terry,
I too like both these horses and jockeys. But this time I’m pulling for MMM and Gary. Oops, don’t know if Gary’s been announced yet who he’s riding. I hope MMM

Hi Bobbie, thanks for the vid, one of my favs of him. One interesting thing I noticed is that he has grown into his ears!!!!, I thought they would remain big for ever. He is handsome though and looks calm and assured now.Where is that fractious squealing kid?.
Love, love my baby, and pray that God would endow him with heart and speed. Amen. Oh, and another thing, he has such beautiful tail like his papa, sorry Queen Z, you’re still my fav. Remain Blessed.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!! What a wonderful way to start off my day!!! Before I came to work,I went out to see Barnaby and Traveller to give them treats and breakfast–another great way to begin my birthday. Last night at one minute after midnight,my friend,Richard, called to say Happy Birthday–we started the custom, many years ago,of calling each other on our birthdays at 12:01AM to be the first ones to tell each other Happy Birthday!! My friend,Ross, who lives in Colorado and took me out for early birthday dinner two weeks ago when he was here, started a custom of our sending each other TWO birthdays cards—FUN!!
@ Anne and Casey–I’m honored to share my birthday with you–hope you each have a truly marvelous day, filled with fun things to do!!
@ Trina–LOVE the card–it looks like Barnaby when he is leaning over the fence toward me when he sees the carrots and apples in my hand!
@ Sandy–Thanks so much for the “snail mailed” card–so pretty!! I,too, can hardly wait for the BC!! One month from today and I’m airborne!!
Last evening, after work,Sue took me to Ketchum Grill for dinner–I have made a tradition for the past few years of having their fabulous Mac and Cheese–very unique–on my birthday–just love it!! She has to teach down in Twin Falls tonight and Thursday so we had to do it then. Tonight my friend,Judy,is taking me to see “Rush”,the new Ron Howard movie–and we will have dinner at the theatre–onje of the great pizza places in town sends pizzas over there every night so customers can have “Dinner and a Movie” right there!! Wish you could all join me–the theatre is SO great–the owner has owned a theatre here for almost 40 years, though the current theatre was built for him about 20 years ago–it is decorated with fabulous old movie posters and movie memorabilia. He has 6 screens, with two of them being in a small intimate setting called The Screening Rooms, which are decorated in a very Art Deco style,as if they were screening rooms in an old-time movie mogul’s home–very swanky and cozy. They have a license to serve beer and wine also,so going to the movies there is quite an event. He’s having a two week film festival right now–just saw a beautiful film called “Unfinished Song”, with Terrance Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave. If you have the opportunity to see it,you should!! Talk about heart-warming!!
This is a BIG birthday for me—-75!!! You have made it extra-special for me!!!
My gosh–several of the gals here just came up singing, with a big hand-full of balloons and a yummy chocolate sheet cake with two horses on it–one looks like Barnaby and the other one looks like Zenyatta—can’t believe how fun this day is!!!
pam homeier
Sue happy birthday. Several years ago my husband and I visited his aunt and uncle who lived in Rupert, Idaho. Loved every bit of it! While sightseeing at Sun Valley we ate at Bruce Willis’ restaurant for lunch. Is that the one you were at? Then for dinner we ate at his other fancy restaurant. Cant remember its name. Both very good.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Wow, Sue N.! Your birthday sounds absolutely fabulous!!! I know you have enjoyed every minute, and you deserve it!! There is no way you could be 75!! No way!!!

Bluegrass Girl
sheena,
Not good for Frankie-this is such an important time of the year.
Hope he heals well and will back to riding.
One of the most amazing rider recoveries has been Lauren Collette’s.
Can not believe how fast and complete.
It may have even surprised Kauto-neigh
Hugs, BGG
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Who do you think would ride Treve if Frankie can’t?
Max
Peggy. Thierry Jarnet has the ride. Very experienced. Has won the Arc before, maybe twice.
Keep positive on the Big O.
Peggy (N) South Georgia

Oh no, did you say he’ld won it twice. Ok, still i’m gonna stay positive.

Dear Judy & Max
Praying so hard for safe trips.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Just something on my mind. Does any one know the answer
If you had a horse entered in the Keeneland Sale. Has a hip # and in the catalog.
Up to what point can you opt your horse “Out” of the sale? If you changed your mind not to sell etc, etc. Can you go up to right before entering him or her in the ring, Or not.
Any of our In The Know People here know the answer.
Terry Crow
Peggy-I don’t know the exact wording of the regulation regarding withdrawal from the sale but I know for a fact that horses have been withdrawn less than a hour before they were scheduled to go under the hammer and there probably have been cases of closer calls..
zfansandy
omg, how beautiful Coz is…and he has that lovely graceful walk like his mommy…Can’t believe how long those legs have grown….WOWEEEE.
