Happy Wednesday!
As most of you know, we went to Florida at the beginning of the month to check in with Coz who has been at Mayberry Farm in Ocala for two months now. Jeanne Mayberry established the farm in 2000 and now runs it with the help of her daughters Summer and April. Today they are teaching Cozmic One the skills and routine that Zenyatta learned in 2005.
In this video from our visit you’ll see Ann, Jerry and John Shirreffs observe Coz’s morning from stall time right through to his post workout bath. Video and photos by Tyler Matson and Kyle Acebo.
We look forward to interviewing Jeanne about the process of breaking yearlings and her experience throughout the years. And in the next few weeks, the staff at Mayberry Farm will be answering questions from the fans in our Mayberry Farm Edition of Ask The Experts. Submit your questions below!
Happy Thanksgiving!
-Team Z
Edit: Submissions to Ask The Experts are now closed. Thanks to all participants!

November 28 Cherokee Devotional
Happy Thanksgiving,everyone!
A Cherokee elder once said, “Indian forgive, but Indian not forget.” It was obvious by his tone that he was not carrying a grudge-but that only one broken trust is sufficient. Trust is fragile, and truth is necessary for building trust. Most people play fast and loose with the truth, believing that others are not intelligent enough to remember what really happened. Often people couldn’t care less about the truth. They say, “It happened. OK, let’s all forget it.” But forgetting about the truth isn’t the way-at least it’s not the right way. We must be trustworthy, we must care. Truth and trust are beautiful gems. We must treasure them. When we do, the world will become a better place.
Agreements the Indian makes with the government are like the agreements between the hunter and the buffalo after it has been pierced with many arrows. All it can do is lie down and give in.

Dear Kathy:
Your post is so true and so sad. Especially on this day of Thanksgiving when the Native Americans in New England shared a meal with the Pilgrims and so began the celebration of this holiday. Conditions for Native Americans in our Country to this day are not as they should be. Love and Hugs, JB
Kathy
Hi Judy,
Absolutely. The Pilgrims would have starved had it not been for the Native Americans. It’s true the conditions for Native Americans are not as they should be. I must say, though, I always thought it was HILARIOUS that many Native Americans in OK were kicked off their land by the government and lo and behold where they ended up was rich in oil!
Hugs,
Kathy

I didn’t know that. Now that’s a happy consequence! Love and Hugs, JB

We are overhwhelmed by the joy this new blog brings! Happy Thanksgiving to our beautiful Queen Z, our red Prince, awesome Coz and all of Team Z. To those at LE who have cared for Coz, my, my what a wonderful job you did with him preparing this young colt for his future. It sure shows in the video that he seems ready for anything and everything that is to come. To the Mosses, Mayberrys and all of Zenny’s humans who we have come to know and love…have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving. You continue to provide us with an abundance of “all things Zenyatta” which is appreciated more than you could ever know.

Happy Thanksgiving to you Zenyatta and your beautiful babies who are growing up so fast! I’m especially thankful also and wish many blessings for Jerry and Ann and John and to everyone at Lane’s End and Mayberry Farms.
So many wonderful people are on this website! I pray every day for Zenny’s family here, even though we’ve all never met in person, I think of you all as part of the family of my heart. I hope and pray this thanksgiving that you will all be blessed by our Lord and Savior with many of His richest blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
With love, Elizabeth

Coz is stunning…he’s got the “look” for sure. Can’t wait till he runs!

I love it that Coz ignores the treat so he can focus on Ann. Such sweet kisses. I wonder what John thinks of him…looks like John had a smile on his face while taking pictures of Coz.
Animals that have been treated with love and good care from babyhood, like Coz, will always reciprocate that affection. Plus Coz had his momma Z to teach him that humans are not to be feared. Such a blessing.

As we count out our blessings on this day of gratitude, one of the things that I will definitely feel thankful for is the generosity of the Mosses and the rest of Zenyatta’s caregivers who so kindly keep us, her devoted fans, inside a special circle of sharing what is going on in the life of our Queen. It is so special to seek the comfort and solace and knowledge this web site provides with the updates and the photos and the videos and the links, as well as the connection to all the rest of the fans who follow Zenny and love her so. We are blessed and I am very thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I love the opening picture. What a handsome dude he is!

How great was this video!!! After watching it several times for the “important” stuff did anyone notice that Coz inherited Mama’s TAIL as well as so many of her other physical attributes? Just like his Mom, he’s never going to have one of those that are long and touch the ground!
And how wonderful to finally see Ann again. I, for one, had been worried about her since she hadn’t been seen at the track with Jerry and Dottie or John for so long. Just ADORED seeing her loving on Coz just like she always does with Zenny and, as a previous post pointed out, it DID seem as though he knew and remembered her! I STILL have those beautiful images of her sitting down in the stall just hours after he had been born with his head in her lap!
Thanks for this video and for the photos of Our Boy! We all are SO eagerly awaiting to see if his royal genetics are going to play out on the race track like we think they will!!!

Boo’s slippers are just too cute!!Did you see the video of the Boxer puppy on Joey’s facebook? such a brave dog!! hugs to you and kisses for the pack Sheena
Kathy
Hi Sheena,
Ray’s turkey hat made me laugh. Loving Boo’s slippers. I never would have thought a two-legged puppy could get around so well. Duncan is not aware that he is disabled, he just GOES. Bless him!
Hugs from me, kisses from The Pack. Kathy

Thank you so much for the wonderful photos and especially the video. What a nice Thanksgiving present ;-) He seems incredibly laid back to be so young, but I don’t know how unusual that is for thoroughbred race horses. For such a goofy looking baby with those enormous donkey ears, he sure has turned into a gorgeous animal!
Extra gratitude this Thanksgiving day for Queen Z and all those associated with her who keep on sharing. ;-)

Thank you so much for letting us get a look at Cozmic One & the Team. I’m so grateful you allow is to be a part of Zenyatta’s life & now Coz. I love his ears. The look so like Zenny’s. When he finishes growing, he’s going to be even more handsome than he is now. Any bets he’s going to reach 17 hands?

What a wonderful Thanksgiving to be able to see Coz! He reminds me so much of his mother and he already has that regal air about him. I can’t imagine how proud the Moss’s are to see him all grown up and learning to be a racehorse.
Thank you so much for sharing his devlopment with us!
Love to all on this Thanksgiving.

Hovis has had another exciting week. His fan base is increasing in size, but he still has problems with Foxy and his Mum. Have a good weekend Hovis people like Sheena in Wales and fans everywhere. Good luck to Groupie Doll in the Cigar Mile and all other horses who are running this weekend. Hovis, this could be you one day.

Max, As always Hovis delights the heart. Hope his hair grows back soon even though he is fine the way he is.

Dear Max,
Thank you for Hovis’s update. even after the haircut he still looks handsome. Love his red blanket. “…she kissed me, I kissed her back.” Awwwwww, cue the violin music. Too bad some girls are so fickle. Wake up Foxy, Hovis is HOT!

Finally catching up a bit. Hope Hovis has a “Plan B” for Ms Foxy as the current one doesn’t seem to be yielding any results. Perhaps Max is right (see below) – he’s really in love with our Z now that he’s learned about her. Some of us want to send him a picture for his stall :-) Thanks as always to Sheena via Max for our Friday treat.
