Happy Wednesday!
As most of you know, we went to Florida at the beginning of the month to check in with Coz who has been at Mayberry Farm in Ocala for two months now. Jeanne Mayberry established the farm in 2000 and now runs it with the help of her daughters Summer and April. Today they are teaching Cozmic One the skills and routine that Zenyatta learned in 2005.
In this video from our visit you’ll see Ann, Jerry and John Shirreffs observe Coz’s morning from stall time right through to his post workout bath. Video and photos by Tyler Matson and Kyle Acebo.
We look forward to interviewing Jeanne about the process of breaking yearlings and her experience throughout the years. And in the next few weeks, the staff at Mayberry Farm will be answering questions from the fans in our Mayberry Farm Edition of Ask The Experts. Submit your questions below!
Happy Thanksgiving!
-Team Z

To Team Z –
I’ve never posted before but have been a fan of Zenyatta for years. Just wanted to say Thank You!! It’s wonderful to see Cozmic One looking so grown up, and to see how much the Mosses love Queen Z and her growing family. Thank you for sharing her journey.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Nice to meet you Susan! Come back and chat with us often – we are a nice group :-)

First and foremost, a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING to my family here at Zenny’s Place, including Team Z, Zenny and her boys, from your Canadian cousin.
WOW! This is a GREAT post and Coz, you are looking like such a big boy! I still see Zenny in him — ears & tail for certain — and it sure looks like he got Zenny’s “grown up” temperament. No question he has some of Bernie too though, although I note that compared to other Bernie colts I’ve seen, he doesn’t appear to have his head. Coz has such a kind eye and appears fairly non-plussed by this training phase. I find myself wondering if he’ll have Zenny’s size or be slightly smaller. And I’m anxious to see if he’s got the “slow developer” gene, like both his mum & dad.
I just loved watching Ann give you kisses and it was equally great to see Mr. Moss, OUR JOHN and the Mayberrys too. The video was just FABULOUS and so interesting to watch.
I guess it won’t be long now before Coz heads off to OUR JOHN, like his mama before him….it seems to have gone so fast (too fast!) from our first glimpse of that wobbly colt foal to today. No wonder the Mosses and Team Z are busy accompanying Coz on this exciting journey!
I will say this: I would have loved to be a bug on the wall to hear the Mayberrys first impressions of Zenny’s son. I will always remember their observation about Zenny, “Either the others running with her are very slow or you’ve got yourself one fast filly!” or something to that effect.
THANK YOU SO MUCH TEAM Z. YOU ARE THE BEST AND ONE OF THE THINGS I AM MOST THANKFUL FOR IN MY LIFE.
Love & hugs to all and kisses to my sweet, sweet Zenny.
Delrene in Carlsbad, Ca.
Thank you so much for this wonderful Thanksgiving gift of Cozmic One and his life in Ocala, Florida. What a treat. He is certainly a handsome boy with the best of both parents. I can’t help it but when he was getting bathed I was thinking, “those ears are from Mama” Wouldn’t she be just so proud of him.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone connected to this wonderful world of Zenyatta. And to all the Z’sters Thanksgiving blessings to all.

Thank you, Team Z, for the wonderful video and gorgeous pictures of Coz. Please know I am always thankful for Z, her beautiful sons, and Team Z, who know how much her fans love her.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Cathleen
Thank you so much for sharing the video and photos. Coz has grown into a fine young man with mama’s ears! I love how Ann was just showering him with nose kisses! It’s so great to see how he is progressing. Does anyone know about how long he will stay there?
sue and tony
Cathleen…that is an excellent question for the Ask an Expert Section of this blog.

I love the way Coz had his upper lip pursed in pleasure as he shared kisses with Anne. He clearly remembers and loves her.
He is still trying to figure out how to carry a human in the middle of his back but he is trying ever so hard to do it right. He’ll get it soon.
You can see how the rider has soft hands and a quiet seat. Only the best for Coz.
My very best wishes for a great Thanksgiving and a healthy, happy future for all of Zenyatta’s connections — both equine and human.

Thanks, on this Thanksgiving eve, for sharing these photos and video of darling Coz… seeing Ann kiss his nose was so sweet and he remembers she was right there the night he was born. What a handsome big boy he is for a one-year-and-almost-nine-month-old, but wait! – he’ll turn “officially” 2 on Jan. 1st. Wow. But we all will remember his actual March 8th (2nd) birthday…
Sally Blank (cherish Z for my lifetime)
I came to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and instead I have received the best gift ever!! Coz sure resembles Zenyatta and I would love to see him. He appears so amiable and cooperative for being so young. I wish Coz all the best!!
Ann, Jerry, John (Dottie), Team Z, Jeanne Mayberry and Marguarita, and all Zsters I wish you a most blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!!! Thank you so very much for thinking of us and thank you to those who took this awesome video of Coz.
After visiting at Mayberry last year, I could pick you out Jeanne and Marguarita!!! I had such a special time with you there.
hugs to all, Sally B.

I’m just now getting to the blog and what a surprise. Coz seems to be very well mannered which I’m sure is helping in his training. Thank you so much to the Z team for keeping us involved and up to date.
@ Sandy NE Ohio, I hope you had a special birthday today. Thanks to you for your friendship and caring.
@ Carol in Ar. Best wishes to your husband for a successful procedure next week. Prayers for both of you as you face this new challenge.
Finally, a happy, healthy and blessed Thanksgiving to all. Be safe if you are traveling. If anyone will be doing any early Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving or shopping on Friday, enjoy and good luck finding those bargains.

Coz is awesome and thank you for sharing, however, what needs to be publicized is how fabulous the owners are!!! It is unbelievable and the way it should be!! I never cease to be amazed at the care, dedication and unconventional approach the Moss’s have with their horses….. anyone who spends time with horses knows this is true…….Coz is sure to be a superstar………
