We have a feeling that many of you have heard the news! Cozmic One has arrived at Belmont to train with John Shirreffs. We initially kept it under wraps because there is already enough excitement in New York surrounding this weekend’s Belmont Stakes.
If you’re anxious to hear about his introduction to John’s barn, you’ll find more information here on the blog next week. We’ll be sharing photos and video of his arrival along with a little news about what has happened since.
Be sure to check back tomorrow. We have a very special edition of Ask The Experts for you, and it features some experts who know Coz quite well.
Enjoy!

Wanted to tell ya. Pharrell Williams was on the Today Show this morning. He Sang the “Happy Song” So appropriate I thought. It was beautiful and such nice wording.
The Anchors had on their Hats and Top Hats. I wish we all could be at Belmont.
Go California Chrome………………………………….
Wishing Good luck to him. But, Safe Safe trips to everyone. That’s what is important.
May God be with everyone. Each and everyone. Jockeys, Horses
“Everyone” Come home safe in every race. God Speed.
Wishing the Good Lord and many Guardian Angels be with you all.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
Love that song. I hope we’re all singing the Happy Song for Chromie after the race on Saturday. We cannot all be at Belmont together, but we’ll all be there in spirit. I share your wishes for all horses to be safe and sound. Godspeed to all. Go CC! Love and Hugs, JB

I am so thrilled that John is going to be training her first born!! I love Zenyatta like she was my very own!! Thank you so much for sharing her with the world and keeping such great care of her and making sure she is a happy Queen!!! Coz is a gorgeous colt and it’s so hard to believe that he is already in training!!! Where does the time go?! Seems like it was just yesterday that I was jumping up and down in the living room screaming of excitement after hearing of his birth!! I would love more than anything to see Zenyatta in person again. Everyone who knows me knows who she is. I talk about how fantastic she is all the time! Long live our Queen of the track!!

what a HANDSOME boy he has turned into. seems just last week he was playing in the bluegrass of Kentucky with mud on his head and wild mane. BUT HENCE, he is ready for work. I am so excited to see the progress. can’t wait to see him on the first Saturday in May in the great state of Kentucky…………………….draped in the blanket of roses as the 141st Derby winner. he is going to be the shot in the arm that racing needs to revitalize the sport. RUN COZMIC ONE, RUN……………………….. he is in good hands once again……………………
Celeste/ Massachusetts
Thank you so much for the pictures of Coz. He is truly magnificent. I met John Sherrifs at Saratoga last summer. He is such a kind man. Coz is in great hands, as we all know. It will be fun to watch him progress.
I am going to the Belmont tomorrow. I am so excited!!! Maybe I will see Coz!!!
I am very excited for the race. We really need a Triple Crown and California Chrome seems like the horse who can do it. Most of all, I pray that all the horses and jockeys have a safe trip.
GO CHROME!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! What wonderful news and fantastic photos!!! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us. Cozmic One is such a beautiful colt and now that he is with the very best trainer I hope he will continue to dazzle us and show us his talent he’s surely inherited. Knowing that Mr. Shirreffs is such a patient trainer, we know he will not be rushed beyond what he is capable of doing and that is so reassuring at this point. So wonderful!!! I wish I could better express how great this news is to me, but all I can come up with is thank you again for sharing with us. Thanks!!

Beautiful CoZmic One! Thank you, Kyle, for these photos. CoZ looks like quite a ‘thinker’ and so much like Queen Z. Sometimes, I almost have to pinch myself to think that we all get to share so much wonder here on Zenny’s website. God’s many blessings for everyone here on the website and for Zenny and her ‘kids’.
Nancy Bishop
Cozmic One is one great looking colt! Can’t wait to see him at the track! Zenyatta should be very proud of her boy!
Sally David
I thought Zenyatta was the most beautiful horse I’ve ever seen but CoZ takes the cake. Wow!
Abigail_1849
Hi everyone.
Just look at our big boy! WOW! It will be so interesting to see how he comes along — how forward he is to train.
I’ve been very tied up dispersing my mum’s estate. As you can imagine, it’s emotionally & mentally exhausting. And I’ve learned that if I make it on to the blog too late, it’s almost impossible to get into the conversation. LOL!
But I saw this article on OUR JUDY BERUBE that was published on the PAULICK REPORT and wanted to share the link, hoping this isn’t “old news” here:
http://www.paulickreport.com/features/ottb-showcase/cosequin-presents-ottb-showcase-guardian-angels/
How fabulous it was to read about you, Judy, as well as your horses. It just made my day.
Love & hugs to all
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Thanks Abigail. I’m sure this is an enormously difficult time for you. You can see all of our kudos to Judy on the previous post (May pictures etc).

Abigail,
So sorry I did not hear that your dear mom had passed away. Having lost my own mom I ache with you. You have my sincere sympathy. hugs
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Abigail:
So good to see a post from you. I was wondering the same thing about COZ. Wonder if he will start racing earlier than Mama and Dad did. He’s so gorgeous. Thank you so much for your kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed the article. Hope you can take some time to rest and relax with Daisy. Love and Hugs, JB
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Zenny,
Hope you get to see these pics of your and Bernie’s amazing son CoZ, he is stunningly beautiful. He has the most wise look in his eyes it gives me goosebumps. I shall pray for him always, as I do you, and all the babies, to stay safe in his new career, and be the best he can be.
And prayers for all the horses and jockeys running tomorrow, especially our dear Chromey, who takes the hopes of so many of us on his back. Run your heart out beautiful boy and shut up the naysayers who snorted at your pedigree. You carry the blood of A P Indy, who won this race, and two Triple Crown winners so go strut your stuff.
hugs to all
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sue Fredrick:
Your posts make me smile. I mailed the DVD Tuesday morning; hope it arrived by now. Love and Hugs, JB

Wow, Coz is so handsome. He’s a true beauty, just like his mom and dad. I’m so glad that John will be training him. I know he’s in the best possible hands. Thanks for sharing, Team Z! Go Chromie!
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Oh, Hovis–you seem to meet with challenges regularly. Thanks for taking us along with you!
Concerning D-Day today: my college roommate in Georgia lost her uncle in the Normandy invasion. Will write to her, as I always remember him, though we never met, of course.
Safe trips to ALL the horses running tomorrow and to us on the road…grrrrr. Hope I get to see the race.
Love and hugs to all.

Bob Costas on the Dan Patrick Show this AM supposed to talk about the Triple Crown. He doesn’t seem very impressed with the race since he segued into a story about OJ trying to call him during the Bronco chase. Also he did not consider Secretariat an “athlete”. Sorry. Secretariat will always be remembered when baseball players are footnotes. Band of Brothers is on this morning. One of the best WW2 productions I’ve ever seen.
pamhomeier
Also on the Dan Patrick show he was supposed to have an interview with Art Sherman but didn’t because Mr. Sherman was “under the weather”. Hope whatever it was is nothing serious. Power up, Art! Go Cali Chrome! So excited! Can hardly stand it!
