Happy Tuesday!
Cozmic One has been away at school in sunny Ocala for two and a half weeks now. He and his jolly ball are settled in to a stall with an opening so he can see and say “hi” to fellow students. On October 8, he started learning lessons like wearing a saddle, working on a lunge line, and adjusting to a rider. We’ll keep you updated about his progress.
Enjoy!

Dear Coz,
You are just beautiful. I believe you are getting more beautiful as you get older.
You sure look like your mom and dad. but in that top picture I sure do see the Quiet American influence in you too. Just love him so much too. Hope he is doing well at Darley in his lazy days now.
Thank You so much, The Mayberry’s, Ann, Jerry, Dottie, John, Lane’s End.
Words can not tell you how we appreciate all you do.

Didn’t want to slight A P Indy, Love him so much. but just love Cara Rafaela/Quiet American side too. Wow what a family. And we could talk About Zenyatta’s side for a week, wow.
HInt Hint Coz, Quiet American’s son Real Quiet was only I believe a few inches from winning the Triple Crown.
I just love to talk about Q American because I was fortunate to meet him. I believe your Built is very similar to his. It just hit me when I first saw the above picture.
Your Gorgeous Coz, Zenyatta and Bernardini should be really proud. Love Ya

Oh, Hovis, life is so hard, isn’t it? Love you, and thanks, Max!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Hovis probably wouldn’t like the weather here either (they are actually predicting sleet and/or wet snow for the middle of next week – arrrrrgggghhh!). Thanks as always to Sheena via Max for our Friday treat, and “amen” to Max’s wish for safe trips this weekend.
Marshall (NC broad)

I have fin ally figured out Hovis’ problem with the mares. He should spend more time being a wind break and less time breaking wind.

Thank you Mayberry for your courtesy pics. So kind of you to keep us Zsters and COZers informed. We’ve loved Coz since before his birth and continue to follow the Queen mama and her babes. Has anyone told you how we love videos too? **wink wink** I need to check out your web site now. Coz looks great.
Kathy
Thank you Max, it’s always a joy to get the latest from Hovis. I think the only solution if for Hovis to go on holiday someplace warm and sunny. Maybe Foxxy could come, too! Just wait it out until your real Mum returns. Happy weekend all. Hi Sheena.

Be still for a while and praise God for His favor, His grace and His awesomeness. God is able to do the impossible and is always near. He loves us unconditionally.
Together, let’s get 1000 ladies to praise Him with one voice. Please forward this to every woman you want God to bless.
Let’s all say this prayer:
Dear God, This is my sister or friend whom I love and this is my prayer for her. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs You the most, and let her know when she walks with You, she will always be safe. Amen!
Now you’re on the clock . . .Tell nine sisters you love them, including me. Get going girl!!

Dear Max Dioch yn Fawr Poor Hovis I can sympathize with him regarding the weather,it’s wet and windy here today, plays havoc with my mane as well!!Where has his real mum gone , we shall have to send out a search party!Looks like it’s going to be wet at Ascot, will suit the French raiders.Gobeitho byddwych yn cael dydd gwener braf .Hugs Sheena
Remembering the mighty Red Rum, who died this day in 1995, aged 30yrs. 3 times winner of our Grand National in the 70’s.Unforgetable.RIP hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. Hold on to your mane if the chilly winds are blowing. From Hovis’ description, winter has settled in way too soon. Ascot sounds like it will be difficult. RR however will never be forgotten by jump fans everywhere. If only MM would decide to run? Hoping to hear that Steve has made it across the Channel back to the island kingdom.

Heavyheart for Take Charge. RIP. I was listening to the race in my car yesterday and heard the jockey was ok but, I had to go back to work. I am now just reading the dreadful news, which I was afraid to hear. He came from such stunning bloodlines. These events are so very hard to understand. Stay safe everyone.
Marshall (NC broad)
I wholeheartedly agree. Take Charge, you have left us much too soon. RIP, beautiful boy. So sad
Marshall (NC broad)
Oops! Apologies for goofing up part of Take Control’s name. I knew better but obviously the old brain cells misfired. Sorry.
RIP and sincere condolences.
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Mary and Marshall,
Take Charge Indy is alive and doing well at WindStar, it was Take Control who had the accident and was euthanized in California. hugs
shirleeinindy
Thanks Sue. I was a bit puzzled by the post and afraid it was Take Charge Indy.

Wish I could be on here more, either I or husband are watching Mia like a hawk and to give her company after her surgery. She appears okay but into the fourth day she has not pooped yet and still does not drink the water that I would think she would. I guess you could say it has been “Sleepless in Wisconsin”
hugs, Sally B

@Linda–Happy early Birthday in advance–will you ever forget our trek through the SA parking lot??LOL!
Oh no–I thought it was Take Control who passed away. Was there another named Take Charge??
@Sally B.–thanks for the update on Mia. Will continue to pray. If she is drinking at all, that is important.
Off today with our daughter to Austin to the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society Expo (a pearly event in October). Would love to meet some TX Dumplings there. Love to see the horses get adopted!

Muchie’s little sis, 2 year old filly, Overheard, won a stakes at Keenland yesterday. Mucho Uno is having some good runners.
Max
shirlee. Congrats to her on this win and to Muchie’s dad. What’s Uncle Johnny doing these days?
shirleeinindy
Staying far far away from Muchie, I hope.
Max
Ha! Good one. Wise Dan might think the same.
Ann NC
Thanks for the news. Sounds like she will be one to watch. Will have to get a photo of this sis-Muchie.
Max
Here is a video of her win. Very determined filly. She’s a US bred and owned horse, who runs out of Woodbine, the home track of Tasty Temptation.

Dear Max Johnny Murtagh trains and rides his first winner at ascot Royal Diamond!!weather is a bit better there than expected.Lovely exhibit for sir henry hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. Just read about this, thanks to you. This is quite special, a 7 year old gelding taking a win at Ascot. Bravo to horse and trainer/rider. Racing Post says that JM tries very hard to understand the minds of his horses. Looks like it works. Could he get through to Moosie?
Glad for you that the weather has improved. Too soon for winter. However compared to some parts of the ROTW, winter in the UK is fairly mild stuff. How about -30 and 10 feet of snow for possibly months?
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max Doubt anyone could get to Moosie only the big boy himself!! Farrh won a very exciting champions stakes with CDA 2nd again. I’ll say no thank you to all that snow and stick to our milder winters .Good to see Moosie back tweeting, guessed he had a plan , not to run at cheltenham!!!Hugs Sheena
Max
Sheena. The mighty Frankel owes his talent to a horse who grew up in the ROTW in these snowy, icy conditions. They get this kind of weather in Oshawa, Ontario. Northern Dancer however probably got to spend time in Florida where a lot of Canadian TBs head to escape the winter with their US horsey pals.

Frankel: ‘Super stud’ stallion in demand for £125,000 a time
By Frank Keogh BBC Sport 18 October 2013
Unbeaten Frankel’s achievements on the racecourse were legendary – but his new breeding career has already easily surpassed what he earned on the track.
One year on from the final triumph of his glorious 14-race winning run, the world’s top-rated racehorse is now a stallion who commands a fee of up to £125,000 a time.
By the end of his first year at stud, he will have earned about £15m – five times his total prize money from racing.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/horse-racing/24513068
Terry Crow
Shouldn’t his stud fee have been a little lower until he proved himself in the breeding shed? I hate to say it, but Secretariart comes to mind.
Max
TC. Frankel was carefully managed throughout his racing career. He never travelled outside the UK and ran as a 3 and 4 year old with a race controlling pacemaker against mostly the same horses at times which were more than Wise Dan, who travels to many race courses across the US (compare these distances to England), goes to Canada to face foreign horses and runs on all surfaces. 14 wins and no losses is nevertheless a great feat. Breeders are clearly buying the super horse status bestowed by the UK media, who found their horsey hero. This fee is still less than the proven sire, his father, Galileo. Whether Frankel can match his sire is still to be seen. The bargain fee is Bullet Train with all of the same genes sans Galileo. The key factor might be the Sadler’s Wells – Danzig cross, which BT has. The mare in any breeding equation with this line will be the determining factor.
Especially Horses / So Cal
Remember when some were so adamant that we wouldn’t learn Coz’ name until he had been in training for a while? Can you imagine if we were just now saying “he’s at school, will we learn his name soon?” So glad the headline was “Coz in Training” and not “Z12 in Training”.
