Trina, your poem was such a beautiful tribute for your sweet Caroline. I am so sorry for your loss and send much love.
Nick, thanks for the info to see the races on Bloodhorse.com.
Sheena,so sorry for all the horses who have passed on lately.RIP.
The video about Layla’s rescue shows caring people who do everything possible to save an animal and fight with the same intensity the animal is fighting with to give it the best chance. Layla had what every rescue animal deserves, the best medical care possible and people who loved her deeply and gave her a reason to live. So happy she survived and is thriving.
Dear Max.Yet more bad news .Allez Columbieres, one of Mullins promising new stars was euthanized after Shorty pulled him up today at Fairyhouse. He was very distressed a cut in the iliac(sp?) artery.Very sad.Fingal Bay from yesterday’s Hennessy was found to have had a bleed after being scoped.Could do without all these losses.Sheena

This is depressing. These were wonderful horses. The loss of any horse from accidents or illness is tragic. Losing Tasty and the Princess was very tough. My Danny and the Beast as well as Big Trouble are on the disabled list. Nerves are on edge.
Sheena first made me aware of this beautiful little filly. I love her name. Thank you for this splendid and informative article on her. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Abigail,
Thanks for this fascinating article on Tiggy Wiggy! She is quite the lovely little girl and so talented, too. She does indeed have the blaze reminiscent of Native Dancer and her temperament seems similar, also.
Love the way you write! Best of Luck to The Tig — continued success and above all, may she stay safe and sound.

It is interesting that Round Table appears in TIggy Wiggy’s chart. I always thought that the 1957 edition of the Kentucky Derby was one of the more interesting and toughest editions of the Derby. All were excellent racers, with the possible exception of the winner, Iron Liege. Round Table had the same paddock as Big Red when he was at the farm. He was one of the best of his generation without doubt. It is a shame that General Duke was injured before the Derby
Dear Abigail. We all have fallen in love with Tiggy-Wiggy in the UK.Hope she can do well as a 3yr old. She’s such a feisty character.I’m glad you enjoyed reading the Racing Post whilst visiting London.I was given Richard Hughes autobiography as a birthday present this year.Lizzie stood by him during those very dark days.Thank you for a wonderful article.Love and hugs Sheena.
Both the horse and the rider made a special appearance at Santa Anita after the Black Stallion movie came out. The young man wore his outfit that the had in the movie for the race and rode him the length of the stretch. As they say, a good time was had by all.

Thanks for sharing that, TC GP. It must have been a beautiful sight. Loved his head gear!
I watched it again for what must be the 20th time. I had forgotten that the actor who played Doctor Watson to Basil Rathbone’s Sherlock Holmes was in that film.
So happy to see how CC handled the turf…..he had a beautiful stride! Opens up so many opportunities for his connections. Great to see the huge crowd at Del Mar to see Chromie! The horses are what racing is all about.

Trina,
I am so sorry to hear about your Sweet Caroline. I share your pain & sorrow as I have made the decision to have 3 dogs & a horse put down over the years & it is never easy.
I am sure that Sweet Caroline is grateful for the wonderful life you gave her and also that you were strong enough & loved her so much that you ended her suffering & let her go to the Rainbow Bridge. She is probably running in a filed with Z Princess & Dubai in her new forever life.
Please take comfort that there are many praying that your sorrow will not last long & that you heal quickly.
spare Sweet Caroline, congratulations Chromy, have good long rest, quietly recover well condition of legs, beautyfull Zenny Ziconic Coz with mates kiss your soft noses, lil 14z im remembering you

Early mornings have supernatural qualities, unreal, yet more real than most things we put stock in. So many beauties, so many things that happen within our sight are overlooked and unappreciated. They pass without notice and will continue for the sake of the land-whether they are seen or ignored. Nature thrives in place where people give up. It has defied verdicts placed on its very existence-and still creates breathtaking views. We have the same abilities if we can keep out the greed and grime that pecks at our minds. The fact that we are u ne na i, wealthy, escapes us when we litter the grass ablaze with dew gems and scatter debris in every sparkling stream.
