Happy Wednesday!
November has been quite the month for Team Z. We’ve been busy finalizing the Celebration results, stuffing envelopes, and planning a product launch for the Shop just in time for the holidays (hint, hint).
We’re proud to announce that the first ever Zenyatta.com Celebration raised over $10,000 for Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. We couldn’t be happier with Zenyatta’s fans that contributed by purchasing the event’s signature Celebration Sticker or by bidding in our online auction. All of the stickers were mailed yesterday, and auction items will be shipped by end of the week. Look for yours soon!
As we previously mentioned, we decided to pick five winners for our Grand Prize, An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta. A complete list of winners is below.
Our next post will be all about Coz, with photos and video from our trip to Mayberry Farm.
Enjoy!

Congratulations to each of you that had winning bids and especially those that get to have a visit with our Zenny. Amazing!! Janet Newman, thank you for the beautiful post of the miracle of life. Barbara Wood, hope everything is well with you! Shari V and Sis Peggy, love to you. Sandy, thank you so much for the hymns, they are very special. Anne from Paramount
Jumping in at the 1/4 pole here, I want to refer to a couple of things.
First, in the Nov 9th issue of Blood Horse (I am always a few weeks behind ( so may have been mentioned before), there are two very good Letters to the Editor (p.16): one on Kathy Ritvo and MMM and the other about Secret Compass. Very poignant.
Second, thanks Judy Berube for that great horsey Thanksgiving card. :-)
Third, to everyone, ESPECIALLY you Zenyatta, and all of your own and extended family, a very happy Thanksgiving. Special warm and safe thoughts for those in the inclement weather.
P.S. I, too voted for MMM! Hard to resist.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Anne:
You are so welcome. Love and Hugs, JB
Anne from Paramount
Oops, meant to mention, also in that same issue of Blood Horse is a great two page spread of a photo of top of the downhill BC Turf Sprint.
Terry Crow
Anne-A happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Anybody who has not been to the top of the downhill course can get a true perspective from these photos.
Ann NC
I just love that turf course. Makes it a very interesting and exciting race.

Dear Bluegrass Girl
Thank you ever so much for sending the picture of Orfevre. I just can’t wait to see him. It is going to be very sad for me, though. Oh my goodness. He’s just beautiful and I just love him so much. I have followed his career from early on. It’s just not going to seem right not looking to see him. A girl that worked with us. Is moving to Japan. Her husband is in the Airforce.. She had been living in Idaho, but was just back here in Ga as her husband is from here. She came in to visit us just a few weeks ago and I told her that I was going to have to come over to see them. Now I know someone there.
Judy, Max, don’t know how I’m going to handle Dec 22.. Hope so much for his safety and pray so hard he comes out of this last race safe. I’ll worry about this first, then try to figure out how I can get to Japan.
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Peggy:
We will pray to St. Francis to keep “O” safe and sound. I do hope you can visit your friend in Japan and then get to see Orfevre. Dream come true. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Sandy Hope you and a wonderful Birthday and Thanksgiving day too. Here’s to many, many more. Enjoy!!! Love and Hugs SheenaX
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Thanks Sheena – just had a chat with my cousin in Scotland! Amazing how small the world really is :-) Some fans of Mr. Hovis are suggesting that another race be staged so that he can participate (I think they are really serious about this – a Hovis gathering!). You’ll have to go and be our representative!

Dear Trina Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Good to see you back posting Love and hugs SheenaX

November 27 Cherokee Devotional
Long ago I had a teacher who was nicknamed “Buffalo,” partly because of her great shoulders clad in black crepe, but mostly because she threatened to whip shy students for going blank at the blackboard.
Years later she attended a school reunion. We assumed that the nickname would no longer fit, and that something soft and gentle would have taken the place of the harshness we’d known. We were wrong. She came with the same attitude, the same overbearing manner, and informed most of her former students that she did not remember them at all.
Whole lifetimes can be lived without learning the importance of kindness. We had the privilege of knowing we were right in our judgment, but the greater lesson was that we had learned gentleness and that a real buffalo-unlike this human one-was quite amiable.
Perhaps the hardest duty in the performance of parenthood was not so much to watch the conduct of their children as to be ever watchful of their own.

Happy Birthday Sandy! Today is also my grand niece Arcadia’s first birthday.
Happy Thanksgiving to all Z-sters!

Thanks Kathy, and happy mutual birthday to Arcadia (what a lovely name). My grandnieces and nephew are too far away to visit – I hope yours are closer.
Kathy
Dear Sandy,
I’m in Riverside in southern CA and Arcadia is in Santa Clara in the Bay Area. So she’s about 8 or 9 hours away. Thank goodness for Facebook!

There is a wonderful story by Steve Haskins on Bloodhorse.com. It is about Finn Green who is connected to Muchie but also tells about how he came withing $5,000 of purchasing our dear Zenny. Great heartwarming story.

Dear Shirlee:
Here’s the article you referenced I think. Never knew Mr. Green’s story or his connection to MMM. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Kathy A very Happy Birthday to Arcadia. We had many nicknames for our teachers but never”buffalo”When I see the behaviour of the some of the younger generation,it’s a shame there aren’t more “buffalos” around. Ray,Boo Buddy and Joey must be looking forward to their turkey treats tomorrow. I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t remember my Katie, she was a gorgeous cat.Happy Thanksgiving To you and your family. Hugs to you Holly, Sugar and Nikko.Sheena

Vicki-Thanks for pointing this out. When I saw your message, I went over and reviewed the posted titles. It sounds like someone has written my biography and stretched it out to several volumes. Time for some relatives of rednecks jokes?
Vicki B. near Hollywood Park
I’ll see what I can do, Terry. I will be out of town for the holidays, but maybe I’ll find some inspiration to write up something. Glad that booklist “spoke” for you!

Nice video done of a photo shoot. Rosie Napravnik and Old Friends retiree Patton
I think Rosie could have a second career as a Cover Girl.
Although the ultimate Cover Girl is Zenyatta. I would add Black Caviar to the equine models as well.

Dawn: Thanks for the lovely e-card. I wish all of the American friends of Zenyatta.com the happiest of Thanksgiving. Here in Canada we celebrate our Thanksgiving in early October-don’t know why–think it’s to do with the long week-end. We have more holidays in Canada than in the US & they all centre around long week-ends except Remembrance Day(Nov. 11)-your Veteran’ Day. All my best to you & yours.
Nicki Boyd-Clouston1
Max: I’d like to know more about your connection to Zenny. I believe you are Canadian-Upper Canada- somewhere? Here in NB there is no Thor. racing, as you know & harness racing is dying a slow death. I’d like to know if it is just flat-racing you are interested in or steeplechase. The Grand National used to be broadcast here during the 60’s, but no more. I have to watch the Grand Nationion on YouTube.
