    The Caulfield Cup has been run and won by Dunaden with Lights of Heaven and Alcopop taking out the minors. Americain came in fourth place. The opinion of the caller was that Winchester performed well. Last was Voila Ici (probably thinking of Nelly)!
    Sheena: Safe journey to Frankel – am getting very nervous about this one! And hope to hear of success to Goose and Moose in the morning, and that Reilly is getting better and better! Love to all.

    dear sign we are all waiting over here to see if frankel will take his chance and run good news it’s been dry overnight at ascot the going will suit cirrus des angles and a german horse (cant remember his name) it would be too cruel if he were to lose his final race!!ascot are desperate to have him running big day for them!!am wondering what paul will decide about kauto decision will have to come pretty soon he must be getting leg weary now will be 13 next march he’s been such a great champion am looking forward to the jumps season there’s some very good new horses coming upbut there’ll never be another kauto!!!!hugs sheena

      Dear Sheena,

      Just saw the article in the Telegraph and Tom Queally comment.
      So glad he is going to run and best of luck to him, very excited and
      a bit apprehensive about him running, he is such a champion and there
      is no horse with leg action and and his acceleration, just hope he
      can get through the soft/heavy going.

      Zenny made it through the dirt in her face, with her eyes closed an unable to see
      in the BCC only to lose by a neck. FRANKEL CAN DO IT !!!

      Dear Sheena,
      Yes, maybe Kauto is getting leg weary. It is soo hard to see our champion’s
      decline, what a wonderful career he has had and how much fun you have
      had watching him jump and really enjoy being on top of his game.

    Dear Z fans,

    The Telegraph within the last few minutes posted that the Great Frankel will
    run in the Champion stakes. The ground is soft in parts heavy going down hill.
    Tom Quelly said ” with my hand on my heart I think he will get through it and
    I don’t think there will be any major concerns”.

      I think Frankel was just enjoying a cup of tea in the gate.

      What a race! He drafted in behind the leaders and then
      that turn of foot at the end. Did not break a sweat.
      He looked confident in the post parade.

    dear sign and max am completely shattered have never seen such a reception for a flat racehorse before to race on ground he hated and after a poor start he was so relaxed in the stalls!!! just too awesome so sad we’ll never see him again on a race course now the girls await he’s going to have the life of riley!!!hugs sheena

        • Sign. I would like to see him come to the Breeders’ Cup or some other race here. He’s a really good racer. He loves his trainer, and she seems to know what she is doing. I did not listen carefully to her moments because I was too distracted by Cirrus. What a guy! He’s the center of attention.

      Keta thanks for the replay – what a fantastic race, he was so well handled throughout – listened to the race live at 2.00 am (Aussie time) and was just so relieved that he was victorious and that he travelled safely. Another truly great memory to have!

        Judy,
        It wasn’t easy at first. Others were posting videos that weren’t authorized.
        These were taken down.
        Then I found the official one.
        Had to help Claire Novak & Joe Talamo on Twitter.
        They posted a video from the Juddmonte as the Champion.
        So, I gave the correct link.

    Keeneland Barn Notes, Sat., Oct. 20 Wise Dan
    Morton Fink’s Wise Dan, impressive winner of the Shadwell Turf Mile (G1) on October 6 and one of the top contenders for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) on November 3 at Santa Anita, completed his major work for his California test by working five furlongs on the main track in 1:00.40 on a cool, clear Saturday morning.

    With regular exercise rider Damien Rock up and working on his own at 6:30 a.m., Wise Dan posted fractions of :12, :23.60, :35.60, :47.60 and out six furlongs in 1:14.40.
    “That was perfect. That’s just the way he is; it just looks like he is loping out there,” trainer Charles Lopresti said. “This has worked out perfectly. I got to run him in the Shadwell rather than working him three times (from the Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile on September 16 to the Breeders’ Cup).”
    Wise Dan is scheduled to ship to California on Tuesday, October 30, with Lopresti heading out the day before.

    Keeneland Barn Notes, Sat., Oct. 20 Brown Almighty
    Tri-Star Racing’s Brown Almighty, runner-up in the Bourbon (G3) on October 7, worked a half-mile in :49.40 under jockey Kent Desormeaux for trainer Tim Ice.
    The Big Brown colt is pointed at the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) on November 3.

      Frankel is only 16 hands and 1/2
      With front shoe size of 7.5 and rear shoe size
      Of 7.0. Small feet compared to Zenny size 9.

          I agree with Sign’s comments on Cirrus des Aigles. That horse ran a very good race. Cirrus is a quality race horse which reinforces how very good Frankel really is.

          Here is a great fox hunting prospect, draft/quarter horse prospect,
          gorgeous chestnut already trained for fox hunting and for sale on
          DianeCrump’s web site. She has gorgeous horses, mainly fox
          hunters, for sale. This guy is a real reasonable price..

    I have just been catching up on some of the posts. I saw some of the posts about Mike Repole. I believe he is just ticked off theBreeders Cup went right back to California. I did hear him say in an article last year that there were other venue’s that he would like to see it come to. Among them he mentoned Gulf Stream.
    Don’t get me wrong I am happy for all the California people. Wish I lived near there. He’s just probably mad.
    I got to spead to him at one of the Florida Sales and I liked him. He seems like a very likable person, and I believe he loves his horses and the game very much. He seems to have done pretty good by his horses. He’ll probably stay happy as long as Uncle Johnny keeps riding for him and Todd keeps training.
    I think he’s boght some nice horses lately. I believe he bought one by Street Sense.

          Mike R better start doling out the $$$$ fast
          so they can do the building that was requested.

          All in all Mike R is a good guy, just a little high
          maintenance, remember he is Italian.

      LoL, Peggy, I kinda liked “spead”, even though i was translating it to “speak”, I was wondering what spead might mean — you know, like when you were a kid, didn’t you make up new words, before you could talk very well? My mom said my brother and I had our own language among ourselves, names for things that my folks had no idea what they meant. We called something a “mackerbeater”, until they had us show them what it was — the nightstand in the bedroom. My dad liked that, and it became a family word, used years later.

    Senior BHA handicapper Phil Smith paid tribute to Frankel following the unbeaten colt’s grand finale in Saturday’s Group 1 Champion Stakes.
    It remains to be seen whether Frankel’s final rating will be the highest of all time — the figure will be decided at a conference later this year — but in terms of stellar performances, Smith said he had never known a horse who could achieve top-class marks every time he ran.
    “He’s won nine Group 1 races (going into the Champion, his 10th), is the first horse to produce two 140 performances — in the Queen Anne Stakes and Juddmonte International at two different distances — and his consistency is the element that handicappers love to see.
    “He has been metronomic, giving performance of 130-plus over and over again,” Smith said. “The conditions were not helpful today, but he has put up another 130-plus effort.

    What an excellent career Frankel has had. Congratulations to him and all of his connections for his outstanding wins and for his staying healthy going forward to the next phase of his life.

    Another American racer is being retired. Its Tricky came out of her workout Thursday with an injury to her right rear ankle and is being reitred. Such a perky, quirky filly she is.

      A beautiful photo tribute. Frankel’s socks were so white and bright before the race and covered with mud at the end. In some of the pics you could see his veins. He made it look easy, but he worked hard for the win.

    Dear Sheena and Z fans,

    Today lots of talk by Millie Ball about Euro’s coming to BC 2012.
    Jockey’s Richard Hughes and Frankie Detorri will be there.
    Moon Light Cloud – Freddy Head

    Tomorrow Adian O’Brian will know what of the 12 horses he
    is thinking will come will actually come:
    Excalibration
    Nathaniel
    St. Nicholas Abbey and a few more.

    Also, maybe Carlton House.

    Joseph O Brian will ride at 126 lbs, Jeff Siegel and Gary Stevens were
    commenting how it would be difficult for him to ride at that weight in
    the US.

    There is an argentinian colt Calidescopia, BC Marathon, that Zoe Cadman did an
    HRTV diary on, this horse is a character, he wears special knee high
    boots sometimes when in his stall, he had a white helmet like hat he
    wears when he is exercised and they don’t use a saddle to exercise
    him in, they exercise him with a foam pad on this back and a cloth pad
    on top with a girth. I guess these are Argentinian training methods.

    Boy galloping a race horse in a “bareback pad” as we call it in the US,
    requires great balance and leg on. It was difficult doing it at the trot,
    while posting and at the canter. Much more challenging at the gallop.

    It seems I have contracted poison ivy Z family! I’m all itchy, and I have a rash everywhere! I don’t even know when I stepped in it! Oh well, here’s to the next few days filled with anti-itch cream and bed rest.
