Happy Thanksgiving Zenyatta Fans!
We received so many wonderful photos from the Breeders’ Cup Zenyatta Celebration! The gallery is now live for all of you to view. Many of you sent photos along with extended captions and touching stories from the event. Though we don’t have room to include longer captions in the gallery, we enjoyed reading every email.
Click here to view the fan gallery.
Here are a few more photos that Casey Phillips took at the party:
If you wanted a Celebration t-shirt and didn’t get a chance to pick one up, they are still available here at the Zenyatta Shop.

I am from Nebraska, and was one of the fortunate ones to win Zenyatta tickets to the Breeders Cup. It was my first experience and an incredible one. I hope to return next year. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the party, but perhaps will have the opportunity if it is held next year. Zenyatta continues to bring happiness to so many people, in so many ways . What a beautiful and wonderful horse, that is surrounded by beautiful and wonderful people. Thank you.

To ALL of you and especially Zenyatta I am so thankful for adding a special, unexplainable “light” to my life and the lives of so many other.
Hope your Thanksgiving Day is a happy one.

Does anyone know how much the painting went for? Also, was it the original painting or a giclee?

It was an original painting, not a glicee, but I don’t remember what it went for,

What great photos! Zenny continues to inspire, delight and be a source of light in an often bleak world. I love to see all the huge smiles in these photos…happiness spreads so easily when Zenny’s people are around.

Five years ago today, Zenny won her maiden race and the journey began. Thanks to the Queen for continuing to inspire a nation and make us believe anything is possible if we try our best.

All – just a note to let you know that our dear dumpling LouAnn Cingel has passed away. I am not sure of the spelling – Trina, I know you know how to spell her name. RIP LouAnn – rest in heavenly peace with the horses and your family that have gone on before you ….
Nancy Wilkinson – Zenyatta:
Zenyatta- Wanted to let you know a dear fan of yours has passed away, LouAnn loved you very much, and I know she is watching you right now from heaven. She was a speical friend.

Thank you Karen for this information. I had noticed that LouAnn hadn’t posted in a very long time. She certainly loved Zenyatta and credited her for making her days brighter than they might have been. Peaceful rest, LouAnn.

I am so sad to hear of Lou Ann’s passing, but happy that Kari now has a celestial Dumpling friend of the first order to keep her company and to watch over all of us. That is a tall order! Lou Ann had a sweet way with words and her joy in Zenyatta was contagious. Rest in peace.

The news of the passing of our dear LouAnn Cingel is sad indeed. We will always remember her touching comments in which she spoke to Zenyatta. She would finish with some form of her signature closing: “You sparkle and shine brighter than any star up above!” She credited Zenyatta and her Diary with keeping her smiling even through her battle with cancer, much like our dear Kari Bussell, our first Dumpling to become a celestial.
In one comment, LouAnn opened with a little poem for Zenyatta:
LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri said:
April 27, 2011
I never saw or got to touch you in person,
And likely never will,
But you always dazzled, thrilled and amazed me,
And you do so still!
LouAnn then continued:
Thank you, Zenyatta, for giving me such wonderful memories in which to draw upon each and every day, warming my heart and bringing a smile to my face.
Love & Blessings, my sweet Zenyatta–the star that shines brighter than any star up in the sky!
Another excerpt from four months later:
LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri said:
August 31, 2011
Thoughts of you today helped me tremendously with my first infusion today to fight my cancer. You are such a comforting source for my soul. You sparkle and shine brighter than any star up above. I love you lots, Zenyatta, and you will always be in my heart.
Now LouAnn herself shines down on us from the stars. We love you lots, LouAnn, and you will always be in our hearts.

Such sad news about one of our dumplings. We loved her posts which showed her love for Zenny and those around her. She will be missed.

A beautiful tribute, Trina.

Dear Trina,
Thank you so much for this lovely tribute to our LouAnn.
With her own words and yours, too, no one could have said it better.
Hugs to you and to LouAnn’s family.

Dear Kathy R,
Calumet Farms in KY is where American will
Be standing. It was recently sold and has not stood
Stallions since 2004. They are rebuilding the business
And had purchased 30 mares to breed to Dynaformer,
Who passed this year. Americain will be their 3 stallion
Standing in 2013. The farm has 50% interest in the horse.
Not sure if he will be traveling to stud in Austrailia yet.

To The Kennedy’s:
Great link with info on “E” as well as US breeding issues. Steve Haskin has a great point,
seems like the focus is making horses into “fast cars” and $$$$ selling off the stamina
and longevity. Bodemeister and Paynter were direct results of that; and they ended up not being “fast cars” as they are animals not metal.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT LINK !!!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Everyone,
The photos in the “gallery” are best viewed when enlarged. Click on the first one (or any photo, really) to view them like a slide show. Sometimes there is more to the captions than can be seen by “hovering your mouse” over the photo. Congrats to Casey for her beautiful shots. Some of us didn’t quite catch on that you had to say “I took these photos” (vs your name in the email sender slot) to be credited.
Trina Nagele in SoCal
Thanks so much for the tip on viewing, Sandy! And thanks so much for taking and submitting photos 49 to 57. I was MIA at the time that Jeff Mallard so kindly took the marvelous group shot of the Dumplings gathered in front of Z’s statue, and I appreciate so much that you managed to photoshop me into the group portrait!
High hoof to Jeff, Casey, Sandy, and all the photographers who enable us who were there to relive these wonderful moments and share them with those who were not.
Z hugs!
Barbara Wood (Texas)
@Trina–thank you for digging into the past to find posts from our dear Lou Ann Cingel. I would love to send a card of sympathy to her family if anyone has the address.
Marty R / Colorado
Barbara,
I just did a White Pages search and found an address, but I’m not sure about posting it in a public place. ( I’m pretty cautious that way) I’m sure you will be successful if you do a White Pages search. If it doesn’t work, please reply here and we’ll firgure something out. Marty R.
Barbara Wood (Texas)
Thanks, Marty. I will do just that. Hugs.
Marty R / Colorado
Thanks for the hint, Sandy.
Isn’t Madison just the luckiest little girl? Her grandparents, James and Jane Wade, take her to the race track, Barn 55, Breeders’ Cup and Zenyatta’s after party. She knows racing royalty, both equine and human and Mike Smith is her own “Uncle Mike” ( not to mention that JAG is her own Auntie Judy, too). I’m pretty sure I saw her in the winners circle photo for Eblouissante’s first race. What absolutely spectacular memories Madison will be able to recall, complete with photos.
Did anyone else notice that JAG and Dottie have the same hair style? Too Cute, as Zenny used to say in the Diary.
Another “Too Cute” is 12Z’s first halter. That one looks to be from before he got together with his rowdy friends and had to have his halter taped up.
I’ll stop now, but thanks so much to Team Z for putting up this gallery so we could all experience the essence of the Breeders’ Cup and the festivites surrounding it. And thanks to all the photographers for submitting your pics. Zenyatta Nation sure has some great folks residing here.

Loved the BC celebration pictures. Hopefully the BC will come back to Churchill and I will be able to attend. Looked like everyone was having a wonderful time. It would be fun to meet all of the Zenny fans who post on here and keep the rest of us up on what is happening with her and other news.
Good omen for Shackleford? His half sis, Afleeting Lady, won big at Churchill yesterday.

LouAnn was such a wonderful person and great contributor to this site from the beginning Oct/Nov 2010.
Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness.
Still waiting to hear where Bullet Train is going, may be to Calumet, too ????

I would sure like to know how much the visit to see Zenyatta sold for as well as some of the other items if anyone could post it.
Thx

If I’m not mistaken it was $6300. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. It was noisy, and lots of conversations were going on at the time.
