Breeders Cup After-Party Is Tomorrow!

Happy Thursday!

Team Z is excited about tomorrow’s Zenyatta Celebration, and we hope you are too! Here are a few details and important announcements about the event:

• TVG announcer Frank Mirahmadi will be the emcee of the Party.

• Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg will host the Live Auction.

• We will have a Zenyatta Merchandise Tent set up in the Paddock tomorrow, Friday and Saturday, featuring many new Zenyatta merchandise items.

• Acclaimed equine artists Fred Stone (“Born to Greatness”) and Jaime Corum (“Queen’s Dance” and her newest Zenyatta release, “Breeders’ Cup Gold”) will be signing at the tent thoughout both days beginning at 10:00 am.

• Zenyatta jockey Mike Smith, trainer John Shirreffs, and racing manager Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs are also expected to make signing appearances on Friday and Saturday mornings.

Party ticket pick-up:

• Remember, no After-Party tickets were mailed. All are to be picked up on Friday.

• We encourage all Zenyatta After-Party participants to pick up their tickets at the tent beginning 3:00 pm on Friday. This will allow them to avoid the will-call rush at the Frontrunner entrance immediately after the last race.

• After-Party online reservations will close tomorrow, however tickets will remain available at the door, while they last.

    Whisper Hill Farm is in Marian County Fl. (Ocala) Need a Fact Checker here. Don’t know if that is where Gracie is going .Hope so hard it is.
    I don’t know for sure yet. But, there is a Whisper Hill Farm there.

    Thanks for the links to Groupie Doll’s race and slide show! I so appreciate to posting these links for me to see, since I missed her race by about a half hour! What a power house she is too! Can you please tell me how old she is? Is there a chance we may see her next year racing?

    Re-watched Shanghai Bobby’s race again, what a character he is! Waiting for his buddies to catch up so he could run faster and win the race, too funny! ( I think he almost gave poor Rosie a heart attack!)

    The article on Bloodhorse.com said that Ms. Pope also had mares in Kentucky. With the number of quality stallions in Central Kentucky, Grace could very well end up there. Hopefully, there will be some reports of how she is doing and her foals as time goes by. So glad she is staying in the USA.

    I think it is wonderful that Gracie and Plum Pretty will be together in Lexington at Timber Town. What purchases!!!!!! I believe I read that Plum Pretty has a mom who is out of AP Indy. That is super too!! Am I right?

    Please see the following that I just read on Bloodhorse.com This was about Zazu being sold.

    “It’s hard to see her go because she’s a great broodmare prospect,” said Bill Farish of Lane’s End about Zazu, who was trained throughout her career by John Sadler for Jerry and Ann Moss. “I don’t know exactly what made (the Mosses) make the decision (to sell her). It’s a numbers thing I think…they’ve got Zenyatta back at home so maybe it’s a little easier to part with Zazu, but it’s still tough to see her go.”

    I was really disappointed in the after party The food cheap and not very good you expect to get this at Motel Six. They set up the stage so only half the people could see and hear. No one tried to ,move the rest of into a place were we could hear and see. The monitors didn’t work we couldn’t hear the video. We finally wised up so we could see the some of the action and the merchandise was great. I got the wonderful Photo o Z getting a shower, I would love to know who shot the photo. I think this could have done better,

      I agree with you. We didn’t know where to go to sit and it seemed no one was really prepared like the party last year was.

    Wow, the BC was super! I am glad I went and am planning to go again next year. I had a great time at the Zenyatta party!!!! At the BC I saw some Grey Goose “Breeders’ Cup Moments” tumbler glasses. One of them featured Zenyatta on it. Did anyone get one?

      I had a great time too. And I am planning to go again next year. CA has such great weather. I did not see the glasses with Zenyatta.

      Jan, I see someone made a Breeders Cup Pix ‘folder’ smart idea. Go back to top of this page and click on Forum, then scroll down til you see the heading, Breeders Cup Pix. I’ll post some there too, so they are all together. Who doesn’t love 1000’s of photo’s?!!!
