Happy Wednesday!
Last month we spent a morning with John Shirreffs and his crew at Belmont Park. We tagged along to watch Coz and Ziconic gallop and work on morning lessons. After bath time and treats from us the brothers even posed for a photo together. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for videos.
Enjoy!

Hot Dog, Coz is a “Gigantor” of a horse !! He is HUGE :) Ziconic reminds me of Secretariat & Curlin. Both of Zenyatta’s boys are so handsome !! Thanks for the updates & photos.
Deb E.
I know! Coz was so tiny as a foal he could toddle under Zenyatta’s belly and look at him now!
Bluegrass Girl
What a great way to start my day-wonderful photos & videos of “the boys”!
Special thanks to Ann & Jerry Moss for sharing.
Thank you to Team Zenyatta for all your hard work to make this happen.
Outstanding photos Kyle!
John Shirreffs, your patience and training of Coz is having results.
He seems less fractious than in past videos-even with baby brother near.
Dottie, question: When is the next race scheduled for Coz?
Grateful to be a fan of this great group.
Pattie
I really liked that last video. I think I heard Ziconic call his brother, Coz, a freak because he is SO BIG. Coz told him, no you are just still a baby !! Coz is the spitting image of his momma. They both are so Handsome !! THANK YOU THANK YOU :)
Pam
Coz sure looks like his Momma! Fun videos to watch :-)
Allen
Thank You so much for the great pictures and videos of the boys. They are both with the best trainer, John will get them where they need to be, and at the right pace.

Zenny, These 2 ‘boys’ of yours are such ‘brothers’! I wish they could just let loose and race each other every day. I realize they can’t, but it would be fun to watch. Boys are so competitive – especially when they’re brothers. Love seeing them training at the same time – such a treat for us! Praying for many blessings for the training of the Z Brothers and for John (what a challenge and what fun!). with love, Elizabeth PS Dottie, looks like excitement ahead for you and John and Z’s Boys.
Stella Bagwell in South Texas
Such marvelous photos and wonderful videos! This is such a treat to see both boys together. Coz is so much like his mother and looks like he could run for miles! Ziconic looks like a powerhouse with a burst of speed! And both appear to be as intelligent as their Queen Mother.
I can’t imagine the joy the Moss’s must be feeling to have two sons of their beloved Zenyatta in training at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing a glimpse into their lives.
Blessings to all,
Stel
Kimberly
Thank you for the beautiful videos of the BOYS!!!! They are spectacular!!!
andrej

It was such a treat to come home and find pictures and a video of Zenyattas “boys” Thanks for posting. They are magnificent.

Thanks so much to Team Z for the photos and the video. Our Red Prince seems a little bit in awe of big brother. They both behaved very well in the picture together. For two colts they did quite well. Still love Coz’s big Zenyatta ears and sweet Ziconic’s blond bangs. Good health and happiness to both these boys and bless Ann and Jerry for sharing them with us.
Is that Mario with Zi?
Max
Respect your interpretation, but it looked to me as if that showing of his teeth to Coz by Ziconic was not awe. It was instead a sign that no one should mess with Ziconic especially his bro. I doubt that even the Beast could intimidate Red. He’s built like a prize fighter, and he’s still a baby.
Z13Rulz
With respect to all interpretations, I agree with Max.
CoZ was arching his neck, to try to put pressure on Ziconic and Ziconic was letting his big brother know he wasn’t impressed.
Both of Zenyatta’s boys are alpha personalities!
Deb E.
Ziconic is not about to take any crap from Big Bro.
Tizgood
Those were young colt behaviors; never want to put young colts together, way too much Testosterone, that is why the lipchain. They will rear up
and fight. CoZ has more testosterone he is older.
The cocked rear leg is a sign of relaxation, he was very relaxed.
Ann NC
No denying those chompers were talking.
Hats off to John S and his team.
Back to your corners, boys!
Beastie is in MD helping Penn.
Max
Looks like Ziconic is putting all that he learned horsing around with Crescent Moon Guy at Lane’s End into practice. He won’t back down. If you check out the angle of his back right leg in the video, he might have been thinking of standing tall like the Beast, if the show of teeth failed to work on Coz. Ziconic is his own man.
Ann NC
Dancing with the front and Karate Kid action with the back. Great leg work, Zi.
Now that Coz has made peace with his bit, he is putting that energy into stretching those long legs of his!
Hope they are enjoying the energy in the air at Belmont. Absorb it boys!
Sandy (Northeast Ohio)
Wow! You miss a day here and there is no catching up! Thanks soooo much to everyone on Team Z for these absolutely wonderful pictures. And the VIDEOS . . . . Just no words to describe my feelings when I saw the boys together! The contrast in size really highlights how big Coz has become, and he may not be done yet. This is a very happy day, and I join everyone in expressing my gratitude to the Mosses for sharing Zenyatta and her family with all of us.
zfansandy
Thx teamZ for the vids. I’m in heaven over them. Love you QueenZ and boys-Cozariat and Zenariat.

I ditto, Thanks Team Z; team coz; team Zi. Wonderful, wonderful pics and videos. Zi looks so small next to his brother; but he was not taking any guff when he showed his teeth.

June 5 Cherokee Devotional
Following a certain line of thought brings us to question theories and opinions that flow to us through open windows. What are we supposed to think or believe or follow?
We can get into trouble following someone who seems reliable and important and interested in us. A common bond may be the answer-but what do we have in common with someone so far removed from our own way of thinking? It is our personal responsibility to know where we are going-is it a path of peace or is it a place where nothing can grow?
Teach us the road to travel and we will not depart from it forever.

Prayers for safe trips for all the horses running this weekend. Can’t wait to see Ziconic make his first try. They are both gorgeous boys.

Dear Kathy.Wonderful devotional. It’s turned rather dull here today and they’ve had some showers at Epsom but warm there now.Ladies day!!Lovely winner of the 1st Arabian Queen in the famous Persian Punch colours. Thanks for the beautiful pic on my timeline when are we packing our bags??Yes,we are a green and pleasant land something the “chromies”find rather funny!I have heard William Buick may be riding him I felt he did very well in his workout yesterday he’s a clever horse.I really hope it all works out well for him at RA.Blue 24 is a determined lass isn’t she?I wonder who the mystery male is.
The new kitten has been named Milo he is very sweet!Loki is ready for his birthday on sunday and of course Fubu tomorrow!I didn’t know it was National hug your cat day yesterday.Theba was hugging Joey.It will soon be a year since we lost him.TJ is hugging his Teddy while mum is in hospital!Poor Buddy’s bed being eaten by Blue my gosh he was a sweet pup.Wish Hovis could compete tomorrow. That certainly would be a race to watch. He had a very naughty mum!!He finds many ways to describe his human mum but she does love him really!!!More needles today.Did you see Mango in her doogles she’s dropping a hint to Judy about the bike trip next week.Have a wonderful Friday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Ladies Day sounds very fun and festive. You’re welcome for the pic. Looks like a fabulous destination. If only we could do that! I’m very envious of the few who can. I’m sure all the green was something CC had to grow accustomed to. Everything is pretty “brown” in CA right now. Just terrible. At any rate, all the best to Chromie. Blue 24 certainly is determined. A real thorn in Glesni’s side, I imagine. The mystery male will make things very intriguing! Another Milo! Just like the rat! I’ll check out this new kitten. Very best wishes for a happy birthday to Loki and Fubu. I didn’t know about National Hug Your Cat day until I read it on Joey’s page. Heard today is National Doughnut Day and you can get a free doughnut at participating Krispy Kreme shops. Hope TJ’s mom comes home soon. It’s unbelievable how small Blue was. He sure is turning into a handsome adult. I don’t think Human will let Buddy be “bedless.” I don’t imagine there is much of anything that trio has to do without! I know I would watch Hovis race. He is so funny and engaging. I did see Mango in her doogles. I agree that is a pretty broad hint! Enjoy your Friday. Looking forward to the Belmont! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Wow, that was so enjoyable! The boys look great! As tall as Coz looks, I still don’t think he’s as tall as Zenyatta–yet. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

Never write Aidan off in a classic!Qualify causes a big upset in the Oaks by beating Legatissimo by a short head.Avoiding the “car crash”going on behind her.this daughter of Fastnet Rock out a Galileo mare was the most experienced horse in the field.
At the moment Andy Murray is losing against Djokovic in stifling heat at the French Open.Qualify was 50-1 BTW!!!Sheena.

Thanks to Ann and Dottie and John and everyone at Team Z for these wonderful photos and videos of Zenny’s Boys. What a delicious treat!
Mary
Thank you for the pictures of Zenyatta’s boys. Please send more updates more often. I miss Zenyatta’s daily news, but know that’s too much too keep up with.
Please tell us about the Boy’s grooms.
Prayers for all, and especially for Zenyatta with the news of her being in foal. So exciting!

I probably won’t be home in time tomorrow to watch AP go for the TC, but here’s good wishes to American Pharoah, Victor Espinoza, Bob Baffert, and all of AP’s connections for a safe journey on Saturday. Let’s get the job done this time! Please! It’s been too long and the only TC winner I’ve ever watched was My Beloved Red. I boycotted horse racing from 1974 until 1979 after I found out Secretariat had retired ( I threw what my Grampy would call a conniption fit I was so upset), so I missed The Slew and Affirmed. Oh, well…
Hey Max, do you think the track record for the Belmont will hold for the 42nd year in row? (Wink, wink!) :-)
Ingrid Arnone
Dear Z fans,
Good luck tomorrow!
Hugs to all Ingrid.

For what it is worth, I think Keen Ice has a great chance to be in the exotics in the Belmont. That is my Turfcraft release.
