Happy Wednesday!
Last month we spent a morning with John Shirreffs and his crew at Belmont Park. We tagged along to watch Coz and Ziconic gallop and work on morning lessons. After bath time and treats from us the brothers even posed for a photo together. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for videos.
Enjoy!

Dear Judy.Oh,dear I am so sorry to hear about Hudson’s unfortunate kick.Maybe the heat upset her.I often wonder how the stall guys cope at our racecourses when some horses lash out.I think ice is usually more helpful or Witch Hazel.Get to the doctor. You have had a rough time of it lately things can only get better.Do take care and don’t do too much.Good to hear Lola is improving so much.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank and all the sweeties.Love and lots of hugs for you.SheenaX

Dear Sheena:
Yes, Lola Mae is doing really well. Got a message from the Dr. Sweet today to have a surgery follow up appointment on July 31st at 9:00 AM.
Just a dumb mistake on my part. Hudson was so sweet today and I was just walking in the wrong place at the wrong time. If I don’t see an improvement tomorrow, I will get myself to the doctor. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank and all the Sweeties

Didn’t get to see Mario’s comments on Zenyatta. Anyone have a link to it?
I was so touched by how happy she was to see him when he first visited her in the snow at Lane’s End. When they made the 60 Minute segment and showed John with the lead, as she passed Mario it seemed like she was asking him why he was just standing there.

Power up Judy.

As Cary Grant would say, “Judy, Judy Judy!”. I just read that you got kicked by Hudson.
I am so sorry to hear and know you would not blame Hudson. I have been lucky so far. We can not have anything happen to you! I am sure Lola Mae feels the same way.
Please keep us posted. Sorry you had to miss seeing Charlie.
love and hugs, Sally B

Guess who purchased the Unbridled Filly. (Eight Belles Family Member) Yep, Paul Pompa, Jr. My Night Prowler’s owner. I think me and him like the same horses. Too Cute. Hope he has the best of luck with her.
So glad Lola Mae is doing good.

Zenny in photo you look well, i think clouds is not with cold heavy rain and only in weather, seven years ago girl jockey walked chestnut jumping mare Itola to eat green grass out of gate of farm, day later i lead Itola to paddock, i knew that she is bucking horse, i stopped her in open gate of paddock, untied and made one step to left, Itola didnt come to paddock she breezed along fence in open gate of farm and went to eat green grass, i walked to call her to home, weekend was, only one girl was on black Chungar, they breezed for to help me, but all was quiet, i came to Itola, seat and began to see what grass she chosed, she eat and saw on me, i collected same grass and gave to her, she allowed to connect rope to halter, i waited 5 minutes and we walked back, later she some injured hind leg in jumps and became friendly, we lightly walked to eat green grass anywhere, horses like to eat leaves from branches of hazel bushes, in green grass they like to eat bluegrass plantain dandelion lil amount of clover :-) Zenny Ziconic Coz stay comfy, kiss your soft noses

Dear Sheena,
Thanks for our Hovis! The saga of Hovis and his mum continues. Chuckles always abound. You look good in the pic and your feathers are beautiful! Happy weekend everyone. Safe trips for all horses and jockeys.

As we knew it would be, an interesting Hovis view of Karen’s struggles for charity :-)

June 19 Cherokee Devotional
To touch the earth is a lovely thing. The warmth of once again finding our beginnings, whether to walk or plow or plant. This place was created for us to have a place to stand and feel the pulse of the earth spread quietly through us.
Bitterness and fear are short-lived where we blend with the simplicity of natural things and know that we are supposed to take dominion-but never without knowing the mere privilege of walking down a country lane bright with sunflowers and field sparrows in song.
For all these favors we thank the Great Spirit and him only.

Dear Kathy.Beautiful devotional.Just seen the procession Her Majesty is in yellow today and was so pleased to see AP McCoy and Chanelle in the procession.A great honour for them.Wes Ward has fillies in the first .All speed at the start then nothing!!Richard Hughes has had a winner! The Duchess of York is at Ascot today and in the royal box!!I loved the video of the Clydesdales Hovis should join them!!!Poor boy out in a thunderstorm.Fubu’s mum had to visit the doc yesterday but he’s feeling better MOL.Loki put up a message about the meds he has to take a few I recognised from daddy’s meds.I never guessed Lasix was known as furosemide in the UK.He hated taking them.Lovely video of Zoe’s visit on Thursday with Mr Al it sounds very hot there at the moment. It was wonderful to see Ken Ramsey interviewed on TV yesterday.Such a gentleman and loves Ascot. He’s got a kitten running on Saturday.Shelby is a bit better and walking.Sad story on Joey about a cat stuck up a tree 8 days and can’t find anyone to help!Enjoy your Friday.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I’ve often wondered, what happens to Her Majesty’s clothes? I don’t imagine she wears things more than the one time. Maybe they go back into the closets ready to reappear much, much later. Who knows??? The Duchess of York was there and in the Royal box??? Wonders never cease! I thought she had been stripped of her title…Oh well, we have a hard time keeping up with all the goings on in the UK. We only get information from the gossip rags, I guess. Continue to enjoy the fabulous races. Yes, I can imagine Hovis with the Clydesdales. Was sorry to read that he was out in the storm without any protection. It’s confusing…sometimes he’s babied so, other times he has to fend for himself. That’s his Mum, for you…Glad Fubu is feeling better. I hope Loki’s treatment course goes well. Yes, Zoe’s visit with Mr. Al was very sweet. She is such an adorable little dog. Love her so. It’s terribly hot in AZ where Zoe lives. Their temps were about the same as Palm Springs here in CA. as glad to see that Shelby had improved. The story about the cat stuck in the tree is just horrifying. You would think there would be SOMEONE who could help. I would think a ladder on a fire engine would reach that far. So sad! Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend ahead. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
