April Visit to Lane’s End

Happy Friday!

Spring is in full swing at Lane’s End! We spent the earlier part of the week in Kentucky visiting Zenyatta and her two boys.

13Z is quite a frisky and independent colt. He’s equally interested in greeting visitors and cruising around the paddock with his mom. You’ll see them running together in the video at the end of this post.

Coz, who is now a very handsome yearling, was always waiting at the fence to greet us.

    What a cute little boy. He is so pretty he almost looks like a little filly. Z has 2 beautiful boys. I am so excited to see them race in a few years. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of them growing up. I love watching them.

    Coz is beautiful, but mark my words, our red prince is going to be in the history books!! I have never seen anything like it; he’s not even a month old, and look at his body, his presents, and how he carries himself. I can’t believe the video, he’s not chasing after his mother, he’s keeping up with her. I bet a lot of people, would buy him for big bucks as a weanling, but I know the Mosses will never let him go. Boy, are the Zenyatta team looking forward to working with him!!! He looks like he is going to be a handful. Do we have a lot to look forward to or what? Zenyatta, you do perfect work, as always; what a great mom, and your boys love you!!!!

      So is Prince CoZmic One, re;-being in the ‘History Books’. He is not just a fine face, he has a steely determination in his eyes. He is the son of Bernadini and the Queen after all. Mark my words, he too will be in the History books. I just pray we will all leave the competitive comparisons out and just let them be babies for the little time they have to be kids before the pressure of their racing ability starts mounting. It’s not easy for them being kids of Royalty, especially being the Queen’s kids, so for now, let us keep it at every day comparisons of their different traits. This whole competitive comparisons is stressing me out and driving me crazy. Sorry.

      Bernie produces “grinders” and has not had his champion yet .
      13 Z is a Tapit through and through, he is showing speed and
      precosity at this early age; Tapit gives speed to his offspring
      and has proven eclipse award winning champions and BC winners.

      They are both very different and the chances of Zenyatta reproducing
      Herself is ??? But Personal Ensign did !!!!

    I love seeing Zenny & 13Z running together almost in sync! And he’s definitely got a mind of his own but she’s not worried. She’s such a good mama to allow him to explore on his own. Coz is so handsome! Going to be quite the ladies man in a few years. I can totally see the Zenny influence in him

    I still can’t get over what a strong little fellow Z13 is. Just look at those hindquarters, especially in the ones where he is rearing up and playing. Have you ever seen hind legs that muscled up on a foal that’s not ever a month old yet?? He keeps up with his mother so well too. He’s obviously getting good practice in, having to keep up with her!!

    This little guy is beautiful. Great head and great confirmation. And a very determined look in his eyes. I see him becoming just as great a race horse as his mother! Watch out in a couple of years.

    What a wonderful visit you all had at the “farm”. Thank you Team Zenyatta and Lane’s End for allowing us to keep connected with Zenyatta and her sons. I will be so looking forward to the galleries that will be put up.

    Does it look to anyone else like 13Z is licking his lips in the photo just above the first one of Coz, where he’s pretty close to the milk wagon. The look in his eye makes me think he thinks he got caught raiding the cookie jar. Anyway, I think it’s really cute.

    I loved the video. Zenyatta’s having a great time, but not cutting him any slack, he’s digging in. I didn’t hear 13Z doing any squealing, like big brother Coz did when he was a young foal.

        Thank you, Judy. Uplifting is exactly the right word. Zenyatta and her sons are the picture of health, full of life and promise and hope for the future. You can’t help but smile at pictures of them and haven’t we been blessed lately with an abundance of pictures. Will you be seeing Papa Charlie and the girsl soon?           Z, COZ, Prince 2 and all of you have gotten me through many days this past year. Hoping the same for both of you.

          Will be visiting Charlie and the girls on Sunday. I saw them all yesterday for a bit. Was a busy past three days at the farm. All of the horses got their teeth floated. Charlie and GG were very well behaved. However, Hudson Township, did not cooperate at all. They got her teeth done, but is was a struggle. One other of the thrity-two horses that had their teeth worked on, was difficult. So, all in all, Angela said it went very well. Have to say I’m not keen on going to the dentist either.     Thanks for the most fantastic pictures and video. It thrills me to see how Coz loves Ann just llike his mama does. I always picture the scene with Ann loving him when he was first born. What gorgeous boys!!!! I never tire of seeing Zenny.

    Zenny and her boys are living the good life and enjoying every minute. Ann just lights up when she’s near these three. Some of the pics of Coz look so much like Zenny that it’s earie. And little Red…well, he’s just full of himself and loves to run with his mom.
    Everything about Zenny is magic…these pictures prove it. Thanks to the Mosses and LE who continue to give us such priceless photos.
