Happy Friday!
Spring is in full swing at Lane’s End! We spent the earlier part of the week in Kentucky visiting Zenyatta and her two boys.
13Z is quite a frisky and independent colt. He’s equally interested in greeting visitors and cruising around the paddock with his mom. You’ll see them running together in the video at the end of this post.
Coz, who is now a very handsome yearling, was always waiting at the fence to greet us.
There are so many more photos from this visit, and we’ll be putting up brand new photo galleries next week.
Enjoy!

Thank you for making my Friday so very special.
Oh Zenyatta, your sons are so excellent. You look so happy, ZMama. Can’t help but notice you didn’t let PrinZling win that race!!! That is ok, girl, because my Mama never let us win, and we are competitive as a result.
Your Z13 is so precocious, so mature, so cute. I can see his love for you shining in his eyes. He loves to run…teach him well, Queen.
Our CoZ is a treasure. First-born under auspicious signs. The things Team Zenyatta wrote about him made the tune to “Boy with a Moon and Star on His Head” come to mind. You have such a look of love, intelligence, and quiet fire in your photos. You make me cry.
Can hardly wait for more photos. In addition, as I recall, we were told there would be special news about CoZ soon.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Moss, Photographer Kyle, Team Zenyatta for sharing your special time with us. Thank you for the treasures you give to us, the Zenyatta Nation.
Take care,
Love,
Mary in Boone

Look how happy Z is….her tail flying in the air from excitement as she runs with her son. She is so proud of her beautiful boy. It is wonderful to see.
Also Coz is beautiful. He looks like mom but he has Bernardini in him too. He is going to be an incredibly handsome stallion some day.
Divas Mom
Thank You so much for sharing all the great pictures and the video of “Z” and her wonderful Red Colt. He is a real eye catcher for sure! Loved the pic’s of him rearing up, they were so cute. Also, Coz is really coming along nicely and is starting to look like he’s growing up and has a serious look in his eye. Just love all three of them.

Thank you again TeamZ for sharing photos.
Don’t know a lot about horses (only what’ve I’ve learned on here;) but 13 looks like a racer with those legs and hind end (looks like a lot of power).
And Cozmic – there is something incredibly regal and intelligent about him…that knowing look like his mom. I cant wait to see how he does on the track!
And last but not least, our lovely Z. She looks sooo good and happy as a mother. It warms my heart to see how content she looks.
Thank you Lanes End for taking such good care of them, it shows! :)))

Z13 is learning from THE BEST. How to be a proper horse; how to run. Lovely photos!

What a lovely April we’ve had. Thanks for sharing these lovely photos and videos. It’s things like this that are getting these horses known and furthering racing. Not just these horses, Zenyatta is just a wonderful ambassador for all thoroughbreds.

Thank you Keta for sharing this news, otherwise it would have slipped by. Congrats to all, well deserved. Tuscalee holds a very special place in my heart and I am so happy to see him get this honor. For a 15.3 hands horse, he made jumping look like a walk in the park.
I will forever love you,Tuscalee.

Jan D./ Texas
Thanks so much for the pictures and video. Looks like 13Z was gearing up for the Kentucky Derby.
Christine Coleman-Shapiro
13Z is so beautiful! Do I see white hairs in his coat like a red roan sort of? Is he gonna be a chestnut or a gray? Do yall know yet????
judy berube from Rhode Island
Dear Christine:
Lane’s End dubbed Z13 Chestnut and I think they’re correct, but others feel time will tell. Either Gray or Chestnut, he’s a Doll. Hugs, JB
ST
Judy,
Have you seen Giacomo as a foal, looks just like 13 Z.
He may be a grey/roan only time will tell !!!!
Gloria

I love this Colt. He really has great muscle and conformation.

I love these Friday surprises! Thank you to Team Z, Lane’s End, the Mosses, Kyle and everyone else who helps keep us involved in all that’s going on in Zenyatta’s world, now including her two beautiful offspring. I think it would be lovely if Z13 stayed light chestnut with blonde highlights… he’s so striking. And Z12 is so grown up looking, even from his pictures just a couple weeks ago… nothing little boyish about him anymore. He has a sweet and kind face just like his mom. I think his little brother is going to outgrow him though. When Z12 was little, for a short time he could walk underneath Zenny’s belly, and I could be wrong but I don’t think Z13 was ever small enough to do that. From the pictures I’ve seen, he looked like he had to bend his knees just to nurse!
All three of them look so healthy and happy that it just makes my heart soar!
Donna Richardson
What amazing, innocent beauty. Beyond grateful for sharing it with others. These incredible pictures recall Dylan Thomas’ poem about his idyllic childhood on a farm in Wales in his poem “Fern Hill”:
And then to awake, and the farm, like a wanderer white
With the dew, come back, the cock on his shoulder: it was all
Shining, it was Adam and maiden,
The sky gathered again
And the sun grew round that very day.
So it must have been after the birth of the simple light
In the first, spinning place, the spellbound horses walking warm
Out of the whinnying green stable
On to the fields of praise.
Sandy (Northeast Ohio) PUR, PUJ
This is lovely Donna – thanks so much. The first picture immediately brought some lines from my childhood to mind – haven’t thought about them for a long time:
Fair is the meadow,
Fairer still the woodlands
Robed in the blooming garb of spring . . . .

Dear Donna:
How beautiful. Thank you. Hugs, JB
