With time ticking down, the undefeated champion, Zenyatta, continues to prove she’s going to be on the top of her game when she faces a full field in the Breeders’ Cup Classic on November 6 at Churchill Downs. The six-year-old Street Cry (Ire) mare, preparing to defend her Classic title and perfect 19-0 record, galloped a strong 1 ½ miles on Wednesday overHollywood Park’s main track.
“She’s just galloped so well the last couple of days,” said trainer John Shirreffs. “She’s really stepped up her game.”
Jerry and Ann Moss’ Zenyatta will continue to gallop the remainder of the week and her final timed workout will be Saturday, October 30. She is scheduled to leave California for Kentucky on Tuesday, November 2.
