Inspired by the iconic Zenyatta herself, Jerry Moss has chosen the name Ziconic for her second colt.

    Don’t know about everyone else, but my shoe leather is thinning from my pacing!!!!!! Hope all is well with Zenyatta and Z14. Babies come when they will come.

    April 19 Cherokee Devotional

    A woodland path is good medicine for a weary walker. Soft, rolling steps along the path do not interrupt the harmony of the woods. Even the snort of the doe before she bounds away is to tell her fawn to lie low. Many pauses give time to hear and see in detail the call of a busy titmouse and the high-pitched whistle of the finch. This is Cherokee paradise-to stand quietly in aged timber and be so much a part of it. Even the tiny creek plays water-harps as it winds its way around clumps of dried leaves and slips over round stones that are a part of its past handiwork. This is a green cathedral with shafts of sunlight cutting through thick foliage to turn droplets of water into prisms of color. Nothing is out of place-not even the walker.

    Dear Kathy.We are pacing towards the 21st now!or even the 24th my Dad’s birthday Z is definitely keeping us waiting this time maybe a filly???Beautiful post today,I LOVE everything about the natural world.
    They believe Lady laid her 3rd egg last night about II.30pm,the egg cup is so deep they can’t see as yet but she showed all the usual signs,is wonderful for a female of her advanced years.There’s a great video of Monty and Glesni, she brought him a fish very rare the males always feed their mates she adores him!I wonder what Sarah has in store for Marty he’s a wittle bit scared!I love his new blanket.Zoe was enjoying her cookie I love her coloured ears!Gosh it’s been a year since Ray’s sisfur crossed the rainbow bridge Bless him.Have a great Saturday.Hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.

      Thank you, such a nice slide show. I absolutely love fashion, purse’s and shoes especially. Kate reminds me so of Diana.
      Sheena it was so funny, Zenny’s Breeders Cup 2010, I went to my first Breeders Cup. I was so excited. I had the prettiest pair of heels and the prettiest outfit. I was asking all at work ok what color shoes should I wear. I had two colors. I have been to horse races many times, not to Louisville but Keeneland, but you know this was going to Louisville. I was just over the moon.

      You know yes I knew, am I going to be able to walk all day in high heels, but this was Zenyatta’s race to me. Just had to dress up. I was in tears I had a beautiful outfit.
      Sheena when I got to Louisville it was freezing and I do mean freezingI thought oh no what am I going to do. Well luckily I had brought warm stuff with me. Well off to the mall I went to get warmer stuff. Big Turtleneck. Was even looking for boots.
      Everybody said your going to need long johns out there today.
      Sheena the breeders cup was wonderful even thought I didn’t get to wear the outfit I wanted to. I’ll just have to save that for the Derby one day.
      Got to see Zenyatta that day and it was wonderful……Once in a lifetime event

    @Max-I have posted this one before, but it might do until I can shake out the cobwebs in my brain. A horse went in to a Western Union telegraph office and asked the clerk how to send a telegram. The clerk handed him a pad and told him to write his message on it. He wrote “neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh, neigh” and handed it to the clerk. The clerk said “there are only nine neighs in this message. You can send another neigh at no additional charge.” “But then,” said the horse, “It would make no sense at all.”

    Well, Ms. Z, you must be outside today munching in the blue grass or taking one of your well-loved mud baths as we, your devoted Aunties & Uncles, continue to pace over our threadbare carpets and much-scuffed floors. Still, I do know that it is baby Z, not me, that is running the show!

        Dear Judy, forgive me for neglecting to tell YOU Happy Birthday last night. Try as I may I seem to always leave something out. I do have a mild form of dyslexia that really manifests for me with written words. I did think Happy Birthday in my heart, but failed to type it out. Sometimes even I can’t half make sense of my words when I re-read them. You and Barbara Woods have always been nothing but kind and gracious to me and all who ever post here. My sincere humble thanks to both of you. Much love, respect and hugs to you, always.
        Max-Judy-Barbara- and others, I’m glad you enjoyed the videos of Paynter and Tiznow. It’s always my pleasure to share. I know how much I appreciate when people share photos/videos of horses I’ve never been blessed to see, or haven’t seen in a long time.

        • If anyone wants to understand what is required to take down the best racehorses in the world at the time, including Frankel’s father, Galileo, look at Ashton’s video of Tiznow. Fierce! Bad to the bone! He would not let any horse run past him in the BCC, twice, and he only did what he had to to beat them. Tiz does not waste energy. And he could pass for Z’s twin.
          As to Paynter, son of Tiz’s full sister, Tizso, he is a miracle horse for reasons that we all know well.
