Inspired by the iconic Zenyatta herself, Jerry Moss has chosen the name Ziconic for her second colt.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY.JUDY!!!!!! Not only from me, but from Barnaby and Traveller–and Sue–too!!! Hope it is a wonderful day!! How could it be otherwise–you get to see Charlie!!! Loved re-reading the truly epic poem again about all you went through to save him!! Also Hudson and Gigi too! Just LOVE all rescue stories– KNEW he was rescued! He’s so secure now, he may have forgotten it by now–when I send any money to rescue others, I always give it in his name–I know he would want other horses to be as happy as he is!!

    Heres’s the change in Zenyatta because Ann is here. On her birthday she seemed depressed, lethargic and bored. When Ann showed her the graphite hat a few days ago, she was staring, focused and really interested. Actually studying it. A hat!! That’s her! She loves her people. I have a fantasy that all my horses and i and my husband live in a great big farm house/ranch and our horses can put their whole heads in at the kitchen, bedroom and other windows and do at any time they wish. That’s how I think Zenny would like to live when she retires. She is 360 degrees turned around to a very good space because her loved ones are here. It’s fun to watch. By the way, her head, next to Ann in that photo is huge. I forgot what a BIG girl Zenny is. Stupendous. Love to all TeamZ and Nannies.

        • JudyB. Arkle was fantastic a steep chaser. He shares the same grandfather as Northern Dancer, the unbeaten Nearco, whose blood also is carried by Zenyatta. However, as to his skeleton being on display, I prefer the approach of the Duke of Wellington, who was asked to allow the skeleton of his war horse, Copenhagen, to be displayed. The Duke who had meticulously presided over the horse’s burial on his estate and had erected a marker over the grave said that he could not remember where the much loved Copenhagen rested. A fine answer.

        • JudyB. I saw that. Guinness must be the drink of champions. Both LIS and Z seemed to enjoy it. As I recall, Z also liked her Fiji water. I haul that bottled water home on a regular basis. Always toast to the great racing lady.

    I am sorry I did not get to view all the posts; I am rather down now about Sir, having being visited by a much professional horse person and a Pastor no less from a Horse rescue up in Wi.
    I can not express anything now; Zenyatta is my/ our most concern and will it be tonight?

    Zsters that have been wanting Queen Z to have a year off from foaling may get their wish. As Queen Z’s foaling date gets later each year, it is likely she may be bred early in February in the next year or so after skipping a season. Of course, much of the breeding depends on how easy a time she has foaling. We’re all hoping for a easy safe delivery with a healthy foal for our Queen!

      Might be a good idea since the official birthday is January 1. Of course, my favorite, Mucho Macho Man is a June foal. But he really matured and got much better at 4 and 5.

    Really want to know about Tasty Temptation and Life is sweet and their foals. especially if Tasty accepts her foal. Please, please let us know. so many people beside me have asked. If anyone knows anything please tell us. We are concerned about those 2 mares. thank you
