Dear Kathy.I read your beautiful devotionals last night.We didn’t have the wood for the fire but coal and the cats were stretched out on the hearth.Winter is a cosy time of year.Did you see the shire horses racing in NZ on Hovis’page?He may need to move!Zoe had some wonderful stories about her therapy visits yesterday,one was a former pupil and then meeting the lady in the lift who was her mum!Diane was her teacher.Mr Mcgoo theblind cat isn’t very well and they raised well over $5000 in 2 days for his treatment!Boo is snuggling!Marty is still so famous on the internet another lovely article about him.I befriended James and Bob today his FB friend are rising fast!Mango looked so sweet with her little hat on.Abby has here own credit card now and ordered a 70″ HDTV!!!Oh,Mom was a liitle bit annoyed!Katy is improving slowly eating a bit.Hope her results are good later this week.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you.Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.

Have not seen the racing shire horses. Will definitely look for them! Indeed…Hovis would LOVE taking part! Zoe’s stories gave me teary eyes as Zoe always says. I can imagine what a wonderful teacher Diane would be. You would never forget her…very impactful. Poor Mr. Mcgoo. How wonderful they raised so much money for his treatment. Yes, Boo is a “boorito”! lol Still missing Marty so much, also Joey. I did see Dash. He does indeed look like Marty. Too bad Marty’s Mom and Dad couldn’t have adopted him. Hopefully they can find another Marty lookalike who needs a furever home. Congrats to James and Bob for all their new FB friends. Wow…they’d better take back Abby’s credit card! Found this Wiki on Shire horses. As you read, it mentions the cross breeding with Clydesdales. All resemble our boy, Hovis. Love and Hugs, JB

Thanks Judy. Apparently a different breed as far as origin is concerned, but they sure look very similar! I remember Karen being really annoyed when she and Hovis were at some event and a woman exclaimed “someone has brought a Shire horse!”

You’re so welcome. Yes, I think lots of times all breeds of Draft horses are referred to as “ShireS”. I guess originally there was a distinct Breed. Apparently, according to the Wiki article, there are few pure Shire’s left in the US and they are at risk in the UK. Always find it interesting reading about the different breeds and bloodlines. One difference is that Dan has dated a Budweiser Clydesdale, but not a Shire horse.

News from Mullins is that The Fly came out of his race in good shape. Ate up his food. He had gorse stuck in his girth but winning the race meant more than the pain. Mullins says that The Fly is some kind of horse. Shorty said that The Fly is full of spirit, in other words The Fly will bite Shorty if given the chance. It takes two women to walk The Fly in the post parade. Imagine what it would take if The Fly were Big D size. Don’t have to remind The Fly ever to kick some butt.

Dear Max.The Fly needs no reminding how to race or win even in discomfort. Good to hear he ate his food.I’d like to think of him giving shorty a bite especially after his views on racehorses earlier this year.I enjoyed the video of Dan the cashmere King!These champions should have given Moose some lessons but then he is special in his own unique way!Sheena.

You’re right. No one can remotely equal Moosie in the unique department. Hope that he finds a good home. His owners seem to understand him and will do what is best for him. They must know that he comes with several osprey who need accommodation too?

We’re very cold for us. There was even a light dusting of snow in the area. The cold weather might really affect the Rose Parade. People camp out so they have a good viewing spot. Only the toughest will do that this year! Have to check on all the furbabies. The story about the dumped dog is heartbreaking. I firmly believe the owner will get his eventually. Cold here in Fort Erie – a big drop in temperature from the warm, balmy Christmas Day. Some of the horses have been showing signs of spring fever this last few days, very lively and full of beans so I guess it’s confusing for them too. Happy New Year to everyone and a Happy Birthday to all our TB friends as they celebrate their official birthdays as we leave 2014 and begin 2015.
