Dear Kathy.I read your beautiful devotionals last night. We didn’t have the wood for the fire but coal and the cats were stretched out on the hearth.Winter is a cosy time of year.Did you see the shire horses racing in NZ on Hovis’page? He may need to move!Zoe had some wonderful stories about her therapy visits yesterday, one was a former pupil and then meeting the lady in the lift who was her mum!Diane was her teacher.Mr Mcgoo theblind cat isn’t very well and they raised well over $5000 in 2 days for his treatment!Boo is snuggling!Marty is still so famous on the internet another lovely article about him.I befriended James and Bob today his FB friend are rising fast!Mango looked so sweet with her little hat on.Abby has here own credit card now and ordered a 70″ HDTV!!!Oh,Mom was a liitle bit annoyed!Katy is improving slowly eating a bit.Hope her results are good later this week.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you.Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Have not seen the racing shire horses. Will definitely look for them! Indeed…Hovis would LOVE taking part! Zoe’s stories gave me teary eyes as Zoe always says. I can imagine what a wonderful teacher Diane would be. You would never forget her…very impactful. Poor Mr. Mcgoo. How wonderful they raised so much money for his treatment. Yes, Boo is a “boorito”! lol Still missing Marty so much, also Joey. I did see Dash. He does indeed look like Marty. Too bad Marty’s Mom and Dad couldn’t have adopted him. Hopefully they can find another Marty lookalike who needs a furever home. Congrats to James and Bob for all their new FB friends. Wow…they’d better take back Abby’s credit card! Glad to read that little Katy is better. Fingers crossed for good test results! Have a great day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Thanks Judy. Apparently a different breed as far as origin is concerned, but they sure look very similar! I remember Karen being really annoyed when she and Hovis were at some event and a woman exclaimed “someone has brought a Shire horse!”
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sandy:
You’re so welcome. Yes, I think lots of times all breeds of Draft horses are referred to as “ShireS”. I guess originally there was a distinct Breed. Apparently, according to the Wiki article, there are few pure Shire’s left in the US and they are at risk in the UK. Always find it interesting reading about the different breeds and bloodlines. Love and Hugs, JB
Perhaps a lot of you will remember Serena’s Song. This article is announcing her retirement from breeding at age 22. At the end of the article they note that her Street Cry filly, Serene Melody, is with Danny’s trainer, Charlie Lopresti. Will have to follow her progress. Glad she’s with CL. Love and Hugs, JB
Thanks, JB. Happy retirement to her. Nice to know Miss Melody will be with, CL.
Maybe, Dan will share his stash of peppermints.
It will be nice to follow her.
Yes, we have to keep track of her progress. Dan, the most interesting horse in the world, will no doubt share his peppermints stash. Max sent a very generous supply. Love and Hugs, JB
Beautiful War Front colt out of Score (AP Indy) went to Coolmore for 1.3M. Scroll down to see the auction video. Couldn’t help thinking our little Curly Mane may have had a coat color like this at two. Love and Hugs, JB
Z Princess was enchanting from the start. A terrible loss, indeed. I’m still not really over it.
Max
K. Between her and Dubai, one can only think how really unfair life can be to these lovely creatures. Doubt that we who love Z will ever get over this loss. I can only imagine how JudyB must feel about Dubai, such a sweet horse taken long before his time.
Kathy
I totally agree, Max. Judy, reaching out to you if you’re reading this.
This colt has the color of his Sire, War Front. I always thought our Princess might favor him in color. She looked a lot like Z too; so very beautiful. Love and Hugs, JB
Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year. This year seems to have gone so quickly. Pure happiness is seeing the photos of Zenyatta. She looks so splendid and fit. Ann and Jerry Moss must be so proud of her boys. Both of them are stunning.
News from Mullins is that The Fly came out of his race in good shape. Ate up his food. He had gorse stuck in his girth but winning the race meant more than the pain. Mullins says that The Fly is some kind of horse. Shorty said that The Fly is full of spirit, in other words The Fly will bite Shorty if given the chance. It takes two women to walk The Fly in the post parade. Imagine what it would take if The Fly were Big D size. Don’t have to remind The Fly ever to kick some butt.

Dear Max.The Fly needs no reminding how to race or win even in discomfort. You’re right. No one can remotely equal Moosie in the unique department. Hope that he finds a good home. His owners seem to understand him and will do what is best for him. They must know that he comes with several osprey who need accommodation too?
“There are certainly similarities. He’s got his mother’s hind end. He’s developing her shoulder. And they’re almost the same color,” Shirreffs said. “The thing that struck me the most, because I hadn’t seen him since he was a weanling, is his physical structure. He’s got amazing cannon bones. Physically he’s very strong, like you would expect a Bernardini to be–lanky and long. He never gets tired.”
Thank you for the post about “the boys.” They are both in good hands with caring owners. I personally will love both of them even if they couldn’t run any faster than I can. Got to admit, exciting times thinking about these guys along with Texas Red and Union Jackson out there.
New Year blessings to all of you on the blog. It has been good to know you.
