Country sounds abound on a cold winter evening. A cow bawls, dogs bark, voices carry across the frozen land. Evening brings the comforting thought of home. The woods have been a place of enchantment, a word of lacy patterns and mysterious stillness. The snow- and ice-covered limbs of huge oaks form intricate patterns against the sky, and ribboned lace, white on white, lies across the frozen pond like tiered ruffling. It is the only time of year when the white bark of the stark cottonwood blends with the landscape, and the bright red cardinal becomes a striking contrast. Nature’s patterns are etched in ice and in us. There are places within us that are as soft as silk, si li gi, and as polished as silver, adelv-negv. We have design in our souls, varied in color, solitary, enlivened with warmth and love-and beauty we often view as illusionary. But sometimes it is the illusion that is most real.
You promised us that the weather would be clear and that your children should have so much silver that when they looked at each other they would look as bright as the rising sun.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas. As far as me, it was so much running around for this and that. I guess because the season was so short this year. Anyways all is well and I had a great time with my family.
Alys, thank you so much for these great pictures!!! Zenny, you look absolutely fantastic. I see you have lost your mommy weight and you look terrific. Your eyes are nice and bright and wow, you have a lot of energy. Looks like you are ready to go back to racing. I mean really, you look awesome!!!! We can still see your muscle tone. Well now—-with us girls there is nothing wrong with working on our girlish figures!!!! Lol!!!
To all the Z’Dumplings and Zsters and to all Team Z and to Zenny, Coz and Ziconic, I wish all of you a very Happy, and Healthy New Year.

Yes! I’m so glad you joined FB! A page you must visit that I’m sure you would like is My Pom Pals. It features Wookie, Luni and Sprout. They are owned by Dr. Pat, who is a veterinarian. They are beautifully trained, and she posts all kinds of videos featuring their tricks. Wookie and Luni are professional actors. They are featured frequently in Petsmart ads. I see there is a Hovis video. I still have to watch that. I think Mango’s moms will have to add onto the house to make room for all the presents. Enjoy all the racing! A high, very high hoof to ALL for these wonderful photos. Zenny, I just love your reVAMPED self, lol. Lookin’ good! Hope you and your paddock mates had lots of carrots and mints on Christmas Day. (They ARE health foods, right?) I sort of saw your son, the one and only Coz, during workouts Friday morning at Santa Anita. I say “sort of,” because once his presence was announced and I looked up, there he went, either going on to the track or back to the barn!. Go, Coz! BTW, Cozmic One was announced as “Zenyatta’s colt.” Nice!! Happy New Year to everyone at Lane’s End and of course to the Mosses. Thank you so much.

So glad to see that we support and appreciate other great horses and their connections such as Chromie. I must say, his humble beginnings, fierceness on the track and love of affection and cookies off the track surely sounds familiar. I for one feel he deserves to go all the way in the awards catagory as does his connections. I keep coming back to look at these pics of our svelte big girl. Stunning indeed. Would appreciate a video of her running at top speed, tail up and squeeling with delight as in the first Lanes’ End presentation that brought tears to our eyes.

Zenyatta looks absolutely amazing — beautiful, gorgeous and so trim and fit! These pictures remind me of Z in her racing days and her first year at Lane’s End. This year off has been a blessing for our Queen — her big, beautiful body has “shaped up” again and she seems so happy running and kicking up her heels. Thanks to the Z Team, Ann and Jerry Moss and Lane’s End for all the really great pictures and sharing Zenyatta with us this Christmas. Updates on Zenyatta always lift my spirits and brightens my day!

Dear Max.Great win for the Fly at Leopardstown just now!Never been beaten there is it his 21st grade one now?Wonder who shorty will chose to ride in the Champion Hurdle the Fly or Faugheen decisions decisions!!Very frosty there and here in Wales there was a delay I think.SS had a great schooling session at Newbury over a mile and 5 furlongs the old sparkle seems to have returned!!Sheena.
