Will keep you and your Mom in my prayers. We took care of all four of our parents. It’s a difficult journey, but God will bless you for everything you do for her.
When we had our Dad here, the last one ‘standing’, he and I started watching the horse races together on TV. That’s when Zenyatta came into both of our lives. I am so grateful for that special time. I mentioned a while back about my Granddad, his dad, who was a horse vet and farrier. He was born in the 1800′ in Louisiana and was one of the men who started horse racing in La. The races were ‘walk up’ races on grass. Then someone fired a gun to start the race, and off the horses went! My Dad had never really talked about his Dad much before at all, and it was the opportunity for him to start sharing things he had never shared before. They had 12 kids in their family, and back then, times were very hard. Anyway, horse racing gave my Dad and I something to share in common, and it was such a blessing, because it helped to give us a relationship that we’d never really had before. Together, we watched Zenny run every race. You never know how God works! I’d always loved horses, but Zenny was the first racehorse I got to ‘know’ and know about.
I’ll pray that God will open a special window for you and your Mom.
