Hello to Zenny and all Z’sters:
A while back someone posted that they saw the movie, The Black Stallion. I never saw this movie. In fact, I never heard about this movie until I read this post from one of you.
Yesterday, I was relaxing here at home, and decided to watch a movie, and came across “The Black Stallion.” What a terrific movie it was!!!!! I can’t wait to see it again. I didn’t know the story line, and thought towards the end of the movie it might have a sad ending. So I was upset there for a minute when they raced at Santa Anita. But of course it was a good ending, and I really enjoyed the entire movie.
I remember The Black Stallion well. After the proved to be so popular, Santa Anita had the young man and the stallion make a personal appearance. Both were in the costumes that they wore during the big race and they raced the length of the stretch to thunderous applause. As I recall the film, the stallion had an in jury that happened during the big race but he was able to overcome it because his legs were so strong from years of running. There is a lesson for modern trainers there somewhere.
I am almost 100% positive she is being bred back to War Front this year…I visited Claiborne Farm twice in 2014 and someone asked about it. Fortunately the guy who was giving our tour was War Fronts groom and he said it was pretty much confirmed. So we can look forward to a full sibling to 14Z next year, hopefully!
She still looks so fit! She has that nice belly “tuck” seen in many horses still racing….bet she could still tear it up out there. Thank you for keeping all of us fans in the “loop” on Zenyatta’s doings…it really is special seeing her happy in her new career and seeing her offspring as well. Looking forward to 2016 already so we can all look forward to seeing Z16!
THANK YOU ALYS for the beautiful photos of our beloved Zenyatta. Such a treat to see her “racing” around showing off for the camera! We always look forward to work…
I read Walter Farley’s book The Black Stallion when I was a little girl. So when the movie came out I was thrilled to see it in the theater, and own a copy as well. The movie was so well done. My grand kids and I have watched it together and I recognized the same thrill in them that I felt. Following Zenyatta’s career has been thrilling and I fill my family in on what’s going on with her regularly. I even got a couple of Breyer horses for Christmass, Zenyatta and Cozmic One,too add to my 50 year old collection. The photos are lovely also. Thanks so much.
Its so hard for me to put into words how I feel every time I see new and old pictures of this beautiful mare and her babies. I look thru tears of joy just knowing that she is still respected and so well cared for after she stopped racing. I’ve been an avid horse person since I was a child and can really say Zenyatta is truly one of the best of the rest! Thank You all so very Much!!

Is Zenyata going to be bred this year? If so, to whom. Just like to follow the queen of racing and what is happening with her.
Thanks

I don’t think I have ever seen a picture of her with her ears back! I guess QUEENS don’t need to do that, ha.

Love all these pictures of Zenny. I have never seen a bad photo of her, but Alys are some of the very best.
She look just stunning, happy and healthy.
The photo of Jerry, Ann and Zenyatta is my favorite in this group, then her in mid-air.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
