Zenyatta will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this week. Though she won’t be attending the ceremony, the people who care for her at Lane’s End Farm will make sure she knows how special she is. Alys Emson photographed her bath for us.
The 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion will be closed to the public, but fans who will be in Saratoga are invited to attend our “Belles of the Hall” viewing party for a live stream of the ceremony and fun activities for all.
For everyone else, the National Museum of Racing will stream footage from the ceremony live on their website starting Friday at 10:30 am. See their website for details.

I pay other people big bucks to detail my cars, but I would personally give the Queen a bath for free. I’d pay Team Z to let me do it. Enjoy your bath, Zenyatta. I’ll bet that there is a carrot or two or pears at the end.
Sandi york
She should be on a billboard on the turnoff into the establishment. Everybody knows the name Zenyatta even the lay public recognizes the name.

Is zenyatta in foal? If so to whom? Love queenZ
Marshall (NC Broad)
Yes, Zenyatta is in foal to Medaglia d’Oro. She was bred to him around the 1st of May.
Medaglia d’Oro is sire to Rachel Alexandra, among others, and more recently the wonderful filly Songbird.
MdO is a very fine stallion and quite handsome, too.
Cheers!

Dear Max, Sheena, Marshall, Ann, Peggy, Shirlee and Z Fans:
Don’t know if you’ve had a chance to watch the Equine Competition today. Red and Boyd had trouble with 3 fences in the Jumps and finished 16th. Not bad when you think about the fact that this was beautiful Red’s first Olympic Experience.
Phillip Dutton and Mighty Nice went on with only 4 faults and won the Individual Bronze Medal for the USA. Great job by our Team. Germany’s Michael Jung and his beautiful horse, Sam, won Gold (perfect round) and France won Silver. Congrats to all.
Team medals were France Gold, Germany Silver and Australia Bronze. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. I’m really happy for those US horses and riders. A medal for Mighty and a good first experience for Red, all 17.2 hands of him in a bright red cashmere coat. There’s more to come from both of these horses. I’m also hoping for some good results in the future from my old friend, Neville Bardos.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Me too. Hope we see Neville B back in action. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy B.,
I watched the jumping competitions, too. I was excited for Dutton and Mighty Nice, or I should say happy for “Happy” and Dutton! I certainly hope we see Boyd Martin with Red lots more in future contests.
I was sorry that New Zealand and Australia fell out of the individual running and was hoping the French pair could do a clear round to secure the Gold — was happy they got Silver though. Michael Jung and Sam are definitely amazing.
William Fox-Pitt and Chilli Morning did very well with a final clear round. I liked the Irish team, too.
Looking forward to Thursday afternoon’s competition!
Hugs and Love

Dear Marshall:
I was hoping the Aussie’s could pull it off too. Both Boyd Martin and Phillip Dutton are Aussie’s. They both relocated to Pennsylvania to ride for the US. Yes, MJ and Sam are wonderful.
Nice final round by WFP and Chilli too. Loved the Irish team and so many others; so much talent, riders and horses. The horses are just beautiful in their gorgeous color coats and braided manes. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Boyd Martin is an American citizen through his mother. His parents met as competitors in the Olympics. His father is Australian.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Didn’t realize Boyd M’s Mom was American. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
JudyB. Phil is no longer an Australian. He’s a naturalized American and has been for about 10 years. This allows him to compete for the US. He is also guiding Commanding Curve in his new career as an eventing horse. Hope that CC does well. Very happy for Phil and Happy that they got that medal.
Ann NC
It was all so beautiful and exciting. Congrats to all for their brilliant performances.
Wow, Sam, you blew me away!
Red must be a real character. So proud of him!
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Ann:
Sam made it look soooo easy. Red is a big, beautiful Chestnut. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
Red and Neville are both chestnuts. They seem to be full of all kinds of mischief, but look innocent when they want. It’s like Ziconic and Crescent Moon Guy.

August 10 Cherokee Devotional
British essayist William Hazlitt called silence in conversation a great art: communicating with one’s presence, adding to the conversation without need of words. Comfortable little quiet spells in conversation are as rare as jewels. This is not so different from painting pictures. Often what we leave out is what makes a painting-or a conversation-outstanding.
Communication is so much more than just talking. Most of the time it is the silence that speaks eloquently. It allows everyone to take the responsibility for what is being said. But more than all the words we speak, and more than an exchange of information, silence gives us a chance to leave things unsaid. It is, indeed, a gift to ourselves.
Listen or your tongue will keep you deaf.
