Zenyatta will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this week. Though she won’t be attending the ceremony, the people who care for her at Lane’s End Farm will make sure she knows how special she is. Alys Emson photographed her bath for us.
The 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion will be closed to the public, but fans who will be in Saratoga are invited to attend our “Belles of the Hall” viewing party for a live stream of the ceremony and fun activities for all.
For everyone else, the National Museum of Racing will stream footage from the ceremony live on their website starting Friday at 10:30 am. See their website for details.
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for photos from the event!

There is a video on Rachel’s FB of her running wildly through her pasture. That girl can still move!
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
Thanks for finding this. I’m posting it here for those of us who do not have Facebook. God Bless her; RA’s fit and happy. Love that little jump toward the end of her run. Love and Hugs, JB

RA does indeed look fit and happy! It’s always so wonderful to see horses running and frolicking in their pastures. They touch us deeply on such an emotional level.

So glad to see RA looking so well.
Sheena, Charlotte and Valegro are awesome. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Sheena and Judy B.,
Wow, Charlotte and Valegro are just perfection! Words are inadequate.
I will steal from both of you — Awesome!
I thought Laura Graves and her horse did very well. I think they came in after the German riders.
I am glad there isn’t any TV coverage tomorrow since I will be out of town for most of the day. Will be tuned in for equestrian coverage from Sunday on to the end though.
Just saw Michael Phelps win again! He is unbelievable. I must confess that I was hoping Ryan Lochte could beat him this last time — reminds me of Alydar and Affirmed. Lochte has a beautiful Doberman named Carter so of course, I like him. ?

Dear Sheena,
That’s a horrible story from India! Sounds like the good Samaritan story in the Bible. the Bible story ends better…that man didn’t die! So sorry you’re black and blue and stiff. Pace yourself and baby yourself. You’ll heal in time. My mouth still doesn’t feel completely normal. I heard it could take as long as a year! 67 isn’t very old at all. What’s really shocking is reading the obits and seeing people who have passed and are a lot younger than you! The first person I knew who died was a kid in grade school who died of leukemia. I think I was in 6th grade at the time. Congratulations to all the Olympian medal winners! And all the cats, too! lol Mother Theresa sure is on the go. I hope she’s taking really good vitamins! I don’t think I would be able to put one foot in front of the other on her schedule. It’s true the very wealthy have the responsibility to give back. You have dressage to look forward to. Enjoy it while you get better! Fibbs will look his best for his big speech. Hillary does look tired. I guess the hairdresser took the day off! Mango did look really good. Garfish? I never heard of those. The ospreys must have been really full. Sorry you have more heat to come. We will be back in the triple digits soon. I wish you a great day as well. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

Great article and great work by the Zenyatta Foundation and the Moss’. Thanks for sharing this link. God Bless Ms. Gray and all who contribute to the aftercare of our beloved TBs and all horses.

You are right. Red does look like Charlie.

Max,
Thanks for this article. It is great to learn more about the Thoroughbred Rehab Center and Ms. Gray. Also, wonderful to know that the Mosses and the Zenyatta Foundation are connected to this worthy organization, too. No surprise though, they ARE the Best!

Celeste/ Massachusetts
Judy and Peggy, a local guy here in Massachusetts is part of the West Point Thoroughbreds syndicate who owns Ring Weekend!!! He is my daughter’s friend’s father! Ring Weekend raced at Saratoga a couple of years ago and we were invited to the race; we got to go into the paddock. He came in second that race, otherwise we would have gone to the winner’s circle with him!!! That would have been cool!!
Positive thoughts for a safe trip today.

Cross your fingers and hold on to your hats. Ziconic will be racing in Race 4 at Del Mar this Sunday the 14th. No time was given. He’s running on a mile on turf. Best Wishes and all the racing luck in the world to Ziconic and Team Z.. Of course more congrats for MOM on her induction into the Hall of Fame.

Dear Martha,
Thanks for the heads-up on Ziconic! I will be watching with fingers crossed and on the edge of my seat. Godspeed beautiful Ziconic! Good Luck and safe racing.

The two Dressage Grand Prix Specials are tomorrow at 9:00 Am and 12:35 PM. I watch it on my computer at nbcolympics.com. My local cable channels don’t cover Equestrian events, but the computer coverage works very well. Hope this helps. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Max, Marshall, Sheena, Peggy, Ann, Shirlee and Z Fans:
Nice article from 2015 which tells the story of Laura Graves and Verdades (Diddy). It’s a lengthy article with photos and videos too, but very well worth reading. After a rocky start as a youngster, Diddy has come a long, long way. Laura and Diddy finished 5th in Individual Dressage and qualified for the Grand Prix tomorrow and Team USA qualified for the Grand Prix Special tomorrow finishing third today behind Germany and Great Britain. Love an Hugs, JB

Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy B.,
Thanks for this superb article! I heard bits of the story when Laura and Verdades were in the ring yesterday, but it is good to get more details. This seems to be a match made in heaven for both of them!
Just caught a little bit of equestrian competition on CNBC. Laura and “Diddy” scored 80+ and secured the Bronze for Team USA. Germany got Gold, and Great Britain Silver. I got to see Valegro and Charlotte again (83+), too. Lovely!
Hugs and Love

Dear Z Fans:
Just checked on ZI’s race on Sunday. He’s No. 7 in a field of 14. JS has another horse in the race as well as ZI; No. 2 Dark Energy. He’s by Giants Causeway out of Zardana. Hoping first time on the turf is a charm for ZI. Post time 6:40 EST.
There’s two Kitten’s Joy in the race also; No. 6 and No. 12. Good Superfecta. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Z Fans:
Mikey is riding No. 3, Exhale (Scat Daddy out of Siren Serenade) in ZI’s race on Sunday. Wish he was aboard the Red Prince. No disrespect to VE, but I do love the idea of Mikey riding Z’s boys. Love and Hugs, JB

Hovis has had a good week. The French lady has arrived and ridden him.Ooh la la!He’s wondering if the powers that-be might pick him for the team in 2020.They definitely would have won gold with him there.Mother has been visiting Bransby what does she know about caring for horses???Auntie Emily’s little friend came to ride him and he was a saint!!He likes little people.Nip Tuckshop spooked at the flowers in the arena.Hovis’s coaching and daffodils came to mind???Safe trips to all this weekend.Sheena

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Thank you for our Hovis update. I had no idea he speaks French! Fingers (and hooves!) crossed he gets picked for the Team in 2020. Mother at Bransby…hmmmm. Hovis has to remember if it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger. Hovis is so sweet with the little ones. So endearing. Always watch out for dreaded yellow flowers. TGIF and safe trips for all horses and jockeys running this weekend.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Sheena:
Maybe Hovis should have a try for the 2020 Olympics. Too cute! Love and Hugs, JB

If you have tried to do better and everything has fallen apart, count yourself normal. If you feel you have taken two steps forward and slipped back two, that is normal too. This happens whenever we try to turn over a new leaf.
Something about making a change for the better stirs up negative forces. All the irritating things in the world will try to oppose you, but stand up to them and say, “Get behind me!” Then quickly stride out of the reach of those negative forces, and continue on your way toward good. Soon your new leaf will flip over!

Dear Z Fans:
Didn’t want to post on Z’s new Blog, but Laura and Diddy just brought tears to my eyes. Their Dressage performance was beautiful and as of right now they have moved Team USA into third spot. They have a chance at the Bronze medal, but a few teams left to compete. Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Judy B.,
I just got to your post. I replied to your earlier post about Laura and Diddy without realizing that you had posted about their performance moving Team USA into third. I didn’t know there would be TV coverage today, but accidentally found a replay on CNBC this evening. I was just in time to see most of their performance — beautiful! I was so happy for them. YAY!
Hugs and Love

Dear Judy and Marshall,
So wonderful about Laura and Diddy. Will have to go to the news about them to see them.
Hope you both have a wonderful evening. We’ve had a more than exciting one here at home with ‘wildlife’ of the rattlesnake variety tonight – but my brave husband saved the day – and the bunnies were spared from being snake dinner! Will share more tomorrow. Congratulations to Team Z! Double your ‘Yay’, Marshall.
