Congratulations to the winners! I was so very fortunate to win this two years ago and my time with Zenyatta and Ziconic was simply unfortgettable. Exceeded all expectations! Loved the Lane’s End crew who welcomed us so warmly. The Queen is everything you’d expect and MORE! I entered again hoping lightening would strike twice :). But that’s OK, I’ve been blessed once already!

Congratulations everyone! We can’t wait to hear about your private audiences with the Queen!

November 20 Cherokee Devotional
Always take into account what your mind has in it. What of the world have you taken in and stored in all the little crevices and avenues of your mind and thinking?
Guard your mind, for out of it comes what you think is possible for you. If you have stored defeat and rejection, those are the only things you have to draw on.
Our voices record everything we say within our minds and hearts. Blessing or swear words, sarcasm or snappy cynicism, all are there, and all have a part in ruling life. This is the hardest part to sweep out and control, but it can be done-and it is better than storing trash.
Neither anger nor fury shall be found lodging in their minds.

Dear Sheena,
Hovis is such a character. Best of luck to Silvi, win it for Kauto. Watched a wondeful video
about Arkle; great discussion at the end by all great trainers comparing him to Kauto. Also watched video of Adian and Hector going to the 2008 BC that was great and also a scream- Hector and his red hair at the BC. It was great to see Adian very comfortable in his environment. And every morning saying “good morning” to 70 riders and giving them their riding instructions; and following them in his jeep on their morning gallops.
Love and hugs

Dear Tizgood.Oh,every steeplechaser is compared to the mighty Arkle .His rating of 212 has never been surpassed. It was 4yrs ago yesterday Kauto “came back”and won the Betfair in such great style.Never to be forgotten.Hugs Sheena.
Tizgood
Dear Sheena,
Looks like I am going to have to watch Kauto’s 2011 Betfair video.
Arkle was a great force to “recon” with- a mighty Irish chaser.
Love and hugs
Tizgood
Dear Sheena,
The Betfair 2011 was awesome, brought tears to my eyes that
The great Kauto Star is dead, so sad.
Love and hugs

Dear Sheena,
Thanks for our Hovis update! Poor guy stays in the “doghouse” with Mum, doesn’t he?
Wow, that must have been some wind if our big, manly Hovis was thinking he may be blown away! Hope the weather has settled down now.
Have a lovely weekend!

Dear Kathy. It is hard to clear out the trash sometimes!Oh,as you know we LOVE anything weather related in this country. It hasn’t turned out to be as cold as forecast today and there’s BLUE SKY!!!Let’s hope Hovis gets an outing this weekend.
I have been watching the tribute to Marty he just loved to make people happy.Oh,if only the world were full of little guys such as he1He’s even handing out starberry shakes in heaben.Gosh Andrew Neil exploded on “This Week” last night.Very, very unusual for the BBC.This man talks my kind of language plain and simple(he was talking about IS and the Paris attacks).I am surprised the powers-that-be let him get away with it!Je suis Diesel has got over 21,000 likes now and they want her to get the Legion d’Honneur.IS led an attack in Mali today 3 dead.A sad world. They are out to destroy our way of life.
Zoe had a great day with Miss Judy yesterday and new bows in her hair.Mango and the sissys had a bath but Abby has a cold!judy is looking for little tee-shirts for Mattie she has found a few.Kimberly was very tired after visiting her doc the Christmas tree is up but no decorations yet.Kate and William are visiting India next april.I will always the haunting image of Diana by the Taj Mahal when her marriage was breaking up.Have a great Friday.Love and hugs to you, kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
First, thank you so much for the wonderful e-card. It means so much to us! I’m glad the sky is blue and yes, hopefully Hovis will get to enjoy an outing. Hard to believe Marty has been gone a year. Thankfully he stays alive in our memories. Beautiful tribute to him. I’m glad to hear the tributes are pouring in for Diesel. It’s hard to imagine how ISIS can be defeated. A sad world, indeed! Miss Judy had a great time with Zoe and Diane. And what beautiful little bows! Looking forward to seeing the tees for little Maddie. Hopefully Abby will get well soon. Kimberly is getting a head start on Christmas. I don;t put any Christmas decorations up until Thanksgiving is over with. Kate and William have a lot to deal with what with the traveling they have to do plus two little ones at home. Thank God for staff, I guess. I remember Diana visiting the Taj Mahal, too. She was so great, such a shame she had so much sadness in her personal life. Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy the weekend. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO

I heard a good one last night and I would like to share it with you. This joke is intended to make someone who is really cheap the butt. I’ll bet we all know someone like this. It goes this way–You are familiar with the Limbo are you not? Do you know how it was invented? It was first performed by (insert the name of your cheap friend here) trying to get into a pay toilet.

Life Is Hard
via (in)courage
by Jennifer Schmidt
Approaching a year without a paycheck, trying to keep our business afloat, paying our employees first, and avoiding foreclosure on our home, I didn’t know what to do any longer. I begged God for clarity, but heard nothing. I cried out wondering how much longer this season would last, but answers weren’t forthcoming.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” {John 16:33}
Life is hard. Life will get harder. When Jesus shared, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace,” His purpose was not to scare us, but to prepare us for the possibility of pain. It was a foreshadowing of things to come and a lesson my parents took to heart when I was just a child.
The Lord is Good, a refuge in times of Trouble.
He cards for those who trust in Him.

TALAMO’S AGENDA: GROOM TODAY, JOCKEY TOMORROW
Taking a racing day off is a rare thing for Joe Talamo. Then again, it’s not every day a man gets married.
So Talamo’s name will not be found on the programs for the card here. It will, instead, be prominent on the programs passed out late this afternoon at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in the Little Italy community of San Diego where Talamo will wed Elizabeth Ellis.
Talamo, 25, and Ellis, eldest daughter of trainer Ron Ellis and his wife Amy, have known each other for eight years. They met in the spring of 2007, soon after Talamo, a 17-year-old apprentice, moved to the Southern California circuit fresh from being the first “bug boy” to win the riding title at New Orleans’ Fair Grounds, recording 119 victories.
