Happy Friday!
Our second Zenyatta.com Celebration happened over Breeders’ Cup weekend last fall. Through the sales of our 2014 Celebration Sticker and an auction of Zenyatta memorabilia, we raised money for Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. The final donation totaled $20,000, and we have all of you to thank for your support and generosity!
Five fans won our grand prize, An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta, in a random drawing. Each winner was able to travel to Lane’s End Farm with a friend of choice to meet Zenyatta and receive a tour of the farm. These photos by Alys Emson document their visits.
One of the winners was unable to travel to the farm for her visit. We wish her well, and Zenyatta looks forward to meeting her in the future!
View the complete set of photos from these visits in our Zenyatta.com Celebration Photo Gallery.
Enjoy!

Dear Blue Grass Girl,
First of all, I must say I love your name very much that am almost jealous, You might just have to give it up for me. Thank you so much for posting the Vid of the queen of grass, the great Black Caviar and little Cav. A truly breath taking picture worthy of being on the Pin, whoever took the pic must be a professional. Little Cavi has the mama’s face. Too Cute.
One thing surprised me when I was looking at the pic, I thought to myself, our red Prince, the one and only Ziconic, what’s the color of his mane?, seeing that little Cavi’s mane is Black which is so cute. I still don’t know the answer to that question. It was interesting because I have stayed up nights on end looking at the pictures of Red that in all honesty, I should not even have given the question a second thought. So, whats the color of Red Prince’s mane.?
Hope you have a restful night. It is always well at ZNation. LOL to all.
Elizabeth in NM
Maureen, On a painter’s palette, the color is burnt sienna with perhaps a touch of white added (to lighten the sienna a bit to achieve Ziconic’s color). I ‘love, love’ the color, burnt sienna. w love, Elizabeth
maureen ph[llips
Dear Elizabeth in NM,
Good morning, you must be an early riser given the time of your post, hope you had a good nights rest, Thank you for answering my question, am glad you didn’t find it too ridiculous, and yes, I love the sound of ‘Sienna’, it conjures up beauty, like saying burnt brick with class.
Here’s wishing you an awesomely Blessed day. It is always well at ZNation. With much love.
Elizabeth in NM
Maureen,
Forgot to mention a touch of orange (light cadmium orange) to the burnt sienna and white. And yes, I’m an early riser – usually between 3-4:30 everyday – occasionally sleep into until 5. I love getting up when it’s dark -especially when the stars are out and not hidden by clouds – which is most of the time in NM. Then just before sunrise, the stars gradually disappear and the sun bursts up over the mountains. Even though it’s early, time still just flashes by everyday. Never catch up on my work – but that’s OK ,because I love staying busy.
Also love Zenyatta’s website for so many reasons. First because we all just love her so much, and can’t seem to see and hear enough about her and her family. And second, we all get to know each other – feel like this is a second family. Also many blessings to you today. with love, Elizabeth

What a lovely post waiting for me when I logged on today! Thank you.
Choose the name because I was born in Kentucky on a farm just
south of Lexington. Although I have lived in many different big cities,
when someone asks where I am from-I say “Kentucky”. That will always be home.
When I post a video or photo and get a response like yours, it is a feel-good moment. Like you, I had such an emotional response to seeing BC/little C
running side-by-side. There were echoes of Zenyatta racing with her foals.
So, thank you for you comments.
Thank each of you who have acknowledged my posts.
And, I will gladly share Blue Grass with you.
Hugs, BGG

Listen for wisdom and instruction. If you do not, it will pass by the way a deer moves soundlessly over the woodland path. Listen for the inner voice that will never be the source of anything wrong.
Listen to how you use your own words. Words are seeds that plant a living garden or they are seeds that sprout weeds that are invasive.
Stop being down on yourself. No human being is perfect-least of all those who believe they are. Give yourself credit for what you have done right, and, even though that may seem like a miracle, you can do it again.

Dear Sheena,
Stay warm and cozy. At least it’s not raining! Sorry Teddy doesn’t have much time left, but I’m so thankful he has a mother to love him to the end. Glad to hear Fubu is okay. I’m surprised to hear Kimberly has a daughter. It always sounded as if Fubu was all she had. Rheumatoid arthritis can be very debilitating. Hopefully we hear from Nissy soon. Praying little Gizmo gets over his tummy troubles quickly. His sweet girlfren Zoe is so caring and got the word out to all of us to be praying for him. Yes, it sounded like a very busy but enjoyable day for all the dogs and their people over at Zoe’s house. I saw the beautiful pic of Joey. Still miss him so. We in CA are a bunch of marshmallows. Not much experience living where there’s REAL weather! Our hat’s off to our fellow countrymen dealing with all the storms and snow. Enjoy the Grand National. Keep us posted on all the action. We are enjoying the Westminster Dog Show. Tonight Best In Show will be revealed. Pancake Day…doesn’t that sound good?!! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Wasn’t that little beagle an absolute star. Loaded with personality!
carol in arkansas
sentimentally I wanted the Springer…she was lovely…my old man Scooter glued to TV and fell in love…but I agree …the Beagle was the master showwoman…go girls
Marshall (NC Broad)
Yes, I loved the Springer Spaniel, too. The Beagle was amazing, though! “Miss P” was giving a stellar performance. These two dogs were my favorites since in addition to being beautiful, are honest dogs — the other winners in their categories are breeds which are always ridiculously over-groomed to the point of being artificial in appearance. Let the dog be a natural dog capable of doing his job. IMHO :-) The extremely “froo-froo’ed” breeds are great dogs, but are victims of over decorating!
LUV dogs! Charlie Brown and Snoopy are very proud today, as is Uno who is Miss P’s great uncle.

You said exactly what I have been thinking.
The Portuguese water dog was the favorite to win. When I saw his cut,
it looked like the groomer got distracted half way through. Yes, I know
this is one of authorized look for this breed.
I would like to see a new Group added. Poodles-all sizes, all colors.
The black Poodle who won the Group is a great dog. But, there were
several I would have chosen over him. Judges seem to get fixated
on poodles and overlook other breeds.
Loved the beagle when she won the Group. It was adorable after the win when she tried so hard to get treats out of the handler’s jacket pocket.
And, when she won Best in Show, she wanted to carry the Blue Ribbon
Lots of great dogs-seemed to be an exceptional year.
Hugs, BGG
Max
That little dog was amazing. Peyton stayed perfectly quiet and totally professional until the treats came out. When her trainer said that she was a great dog and deserved the win, she barked her agreement. Like her name too, Ch Tashtins Lookin for Trouble. She will retire and head back to Canada to live with her family in British Columbia.
pamhomeier
Hey, hey, hey! Easy on the poodles! Especially the minis. Still miss my black beauties, Sam and Willie! Very smart and very loving. But I did like Miss P. Loads of personality!

Walk away for a minute. Stop listening to the hard luck stories, because as concerned as you are, it is no good if you sink out of sight.
Rest. Let it all go, because mind, body, and spirit all need a quiet place. If the spirit is in the right place, the body can rest more deeply.
Taking care is a personal responsibility. No one else is going to do it for you-because no one can. If there is anything good to think about, if there is anything to dwell on that is joyful, then think on these things. Give it time and see it work.
We meet as brothers that have been away from each other many years.

Dear Kathy.Love the devotional as usual!Milder here today.Ray’s daddy must have been very busy with all that snow in Boston!Nissy is back safe and sound the internet and phone were off for 5 days and they had a major storm.Sadly his auntie Primrose crossed the bridge last Thursday the last of the famous aunties!Looking forward to his blog tonight.I hadn’t been on the Mcgoose family in a while and found out Stella the puppy mill survivor has passed. All those years of abuse just caught up with her.Her mum is very upset and they buried her in the garden. So sad she had 13 years of hell.
Loki’s visit went quite well except for the blood test he got pretty upset and peed on the vet!All in all went better than a surgery visit though and his weight is good.He has to go through it all in another 2 weeks.Mango had a lot of cards and more clothes again thinks mum is still in CA time.Zoe is sooo upset Gizmo has been bullied what is wrong with these peeps???Those ratties are getting too cute!Especially on the phone.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
I can’t even imagine what the people in the east are dealing with. You know the saying, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Glad Nissy is back. RIP Aunt Primrose. Yes, it was very sad to learn of Stella’s passing. That poor sweet angel. I think those who abuse animals have a LOT to answer for. Wouldn’t want to be them! I totally understand Loki’s response. So sorry he has to go through it all again so soon. Mango is as popular as ever. Lucky little girl! Who could ever bully Gizmo?!! As I wrote to Zoe, bullies are TROLLS and must be ignored. The ratties are very entertaining. I think my fav is Phineous. Did you enjoy your pancakes yesterday? Did you take part in a pancake flipping relay race? Have a good Wednesday and take care of yourself. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
