Happy Friday!
Our second Zenyatta.com Celebration happened over Breeders’ Cup weekend last fall. Through the sales of our 2014 Celebration Sticker and an auction of Zenyatta memorabilia, we raised money for Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. The final donation totaled $20,000, and we have all of you to thank for your support and generosity!
Five fans won our grand prize, An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta, in a random drawing. Each winner was able to travel to Lane’s End Farm with a friend of choice to meet Zenyatta and receive a tour of the farm. These photos by Alys Emson document their visits.
One of the winners was unable to travel to the farm for her visit. We wish her well, and Zenyatta looks forward to meeting her in the future!
View the complete set of photos from these visits in our Zenyatta.com Celebration Photo Gallery.
Enjoy!

Has anyone been following Ron the Greek…aka Wattani?…in Saudi Arabia. …
has won 4 in a row….won yesterday at 1 1/2 miles by lots of daylight… Just tearing it up
Max
Yep. He will always be Ron The Greek to me.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Me too. Congrats to RTG. Love and Hugs, JB

Saw the video at the end of an article on BloodHorse. Really amazing to hear the race called in Arabic (at least I think that’s what it was). Ron was amazing!
Max
That’s Arabic and watching that video is as close as women will probably ever get to Saudi horse racing. They are banned from attending sports stadiums, although there was some talk of letting women attend separately from men at one track to be constructed. Not certain what ever became of that.
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Max, Just so sad that women are STILL banned from so much, including sports stadiums!
hugs, Sally B
Max
Cannot drive cars either.

Carol,
Had lost track of him after he was sold. Good to know he is winning. Hope he continues to do well.
Sorry you could not make it to Oaklawn yesterday, ROC needed you to cheer him on at the finish!
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Carol in Arkansas, Thank you for bringing Ron the Greek to our attention. He had left my mind. I am happy he is winning and still healthy.
hugs, Sally B

Wonderful to see these pictures (and the others in the album) of Zenny and the contest winners. Many thanks to Alys. It’s hard not to wish that we all could have the privilege, but “bravo” to LauraJ and others who have patiently explained the logistics (on several occasions). Congrats to those who got to go. As others have noted, it would be great to hear some of your “first person accounts.”
Happy Valentine’s Day a little late from the tundra of NE Ohio :-)

Dear Max.I haven’t heard anything about Abby so no news is good news I presume. The short guy didn’t have a good day at the office today!Gary is thinking of running SDG at Chepstow this Saturday,he was disappointed with his jumping at Newbury and thinks another run will boost his confidence!Henri de Bromhead says Sizing Europe is working so well at home he may run in the Champion Chase too no decision yet.Herman the german worked well into the night on Hovis’ blood.and has a perfect sample!Nothing but the best for our boy!No signs of Nissy today they may have lost power after the storms.Sheena
Max
Hoping that no news is good news for Abby. He seemed okay yesterday because he got up after the fall and kept going. Paul looked okay too. Like to have some news of them from Mullins.
The Nisster is probably battling snow and wild winds as storms are attacking most all of the northeast into Canada. The banks of snow are already enormous. It ain’t easy travelling around anywhere. Acqeduct was closed today because it’s too cold to race. Kentucky is supposed to get snow. Hope that it misses Zenyatta and Danny and all horsey others.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.I hope all the wild things are coping with the storms! it has turned milder over here recently.I don’t know how we would cope with such brutal conditions! The tuxedo party (more cats)live in Halifax Nova Scotia and they are posting today.Hope all is well with Niss.Sheena.
Max
Someone once said that the Internet was invented for cats. Don’t know these tuxedo cats but I imagine that they are black and white? I did enjoy watching Rudiger claw away that snow and then take those flying jumps over it. He could teach the Moose to hurdle. He’s famous now.
sheena.davies(wales)
Tuxedo Stan ran for Mayor of Halifax in 2012.Sadly he died in September 2013 from renal cancer aged 3 and 1/2.He has a beautiful grey and white brother called Earl Grey and they now have a new tuxie called TJ(Tuxedo Junior)Owners are both vets.Sheena.
Max
Thanks for the info. I think that I remember that story of the political cat. That must be inspiring Nissy to go for a Senate seat. It’s very interesting how well horses and cats get along. Dan also gets along well with goats.

RIP Louis Jourdan who has died aged 93yrs.Always remembered for “Gigi” and “Can-Can”Au revoir Sheena.

February 16 Cherokee Devotional
Virginia creeper spreads through the lush compost of the woods like veins in soft skin and climbs through the rough bark of the post oak to the very top.
We weave through the rough places trying to reach the top because we feel some ungrateful god has put this on us to deal with-to somehow teach us. But such feelings are false.
How many times has the creeper been snagged and pulled from its growing place-as often as we are delayed in reaching our goals. What are we, helpless victims trying to overcome, or hardy individuals that will not be beaten? Attitude, all attitude.
I was going around the world with the clouds and air, when God spoke to my thought and told me to come in here and be at peace with all.

Dear Kathy.Oh,my Virginia Creeper crept over everywhere but it’s such a stunning shade in the autumn.Sometimes I miss my garden especially the view but it’s far less work here.Mango and Zoe are enjoying themselves and picked 2 winners so miss Diane is going to be busy.I am sure the sissy’s will be glad to see her home.Hope everyone is safe in the NE Ray is bundled up today very, very cold in Boston!Dolly looked so sweet for Valentine’s day.Internet was off later I heard Eygpt were bombing last night and killed about 50 militants.Dangerous part of the world.
Loved the pic of Boo,Buddy and Blue the bodyguard!I left a message on Fubu’s FB last night it’s been 10 days now!!My Nissy is off too I am hoping it’s weather-related.I think Marty has forgotten it’s a holiday for the US today and it’s Monday as usual. So I shall turtle-turtle!Have a great day off.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
A beautiful garden is something to always treasure. Lots going on in FB Land! I look forward to Mango making Therapy visits with Zoe. Should be very entertaining to hear about! Hopefully Ray will stay warm enough. Dolly has some gorgeous little dresses. Even though she’s in such a dangerous place she still looks good! It will be interesting to see how 2 poms cope with a Golden Retriever younger brother! Such adventures ahead! I’m very worried about Fubu and Kimberly. I wish we would hear something. Fingers crossed Nissy will be back soon. Those of us who don’t have to work are having a really good Monday! I’m having dinner tonight with some library friends. You have a good day turtle-turtling. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

Oh NO, massive spill in the King’s Cup
Jockeys involved in spill were Eddie Castro, Alan Garcia, Frankie Dettori,
Alexis Moreno, Alonso Quinonez, A Alazhari, Mohammed Saeed
Follow-up from Saudi’s King Abdullah Cup – hearing Eddie Castro ended up with hairline crack in vertebra, Mohammed Saeed with 2 frac’d verts
Clarifying previous tweet, Frankie Dettori’s mount was impacted by the spill, but he did not lose the partnership, eased his mount.
Apparently three horses did not survive their injuries from the race, one was

Zenny, stay warm in this severe storm that’s dumping loads of snow on so many of us. We doubt you’ll be in your paddock for a while. Coz is probably enjoying the best of it now that he’s in Ca. Zi probably needs some woolies of his own since it’s even cold in Florida. Congrats again to the fans who won these cherished visits with Zenny.
