Happy Friday!
Our second Zenyatta.com Celebration happened over Breeders’ Cup weekend last fall. Through the sales of our 2014 Celebration Sticker and an auction of Zenyatta memorabilia, we raised money for Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. The final donation totaled $20,000, and we have all of you to thank for your support and generosity!
Five fans won our grand prize, An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta, in a random drawing. Each winner was able to travel to Lane’s End Farm with a friend of choice to meet Zenyatta and receive a tour of the farm. These photos by Alys Emson document their visits.
One of the winners was unable to travel to the farm for her visit. We wish her well, and Zenyatta looks forward to meeting her in the future!
View the complete set of photos from these visits in our Zenyatta.com Celebration Photo Gallery.
Enjoy!

Great to see it was a come as you are meeting. Zenny nice and natural :)
Max
Agree. Zenyatta looks nice in whatever she’s wearing, including mud. I always like her look. She is incredibly beautiful.
Ann Maree / Tennessee
Just love how affectionate Zenny is with even total strangers. She must remember when thousands would cheer her and little kids would visit at John’s barn, and she was like a lamb.
Happy Valentine’s Day to sweet Zenny and all her “family” and caretakers. Love the photos, and looking forward to when we know Z has been bred and who to (for sure!).

This day is about love and the photos warmed my heart as I could feel the love from and for Zenyatta and the joy both she and her visitors felt. She loves her fans (and her peppermints) and I know she appreciated the visits as much as her guests did.The pics in the photo gallery are precious, many more to enjoy. Thanks Alys!
Zenny personifies love and what a great way to start Valentine’s.

Sure can see why the needed to geld him. I have wondered about that since he has a very nice pedigree. Must have been one wild boy.
Max
Looks like he still is pretty feisty. Good for you, SB.

So cool to follow MOE CANDY from foal to race horse. He was a pasture buddy to Coz. He finished 3rd in his first race–a MSW at Santa Anita Race2. Power Jam won.

Such lucky folks! Zenny is such a “natural” beauty…doesn’t mind having her photo taken while she’s having a mud pack treatment! Just adore her sweet, friendly nature… especially when peppermints are involved! Maybe next year we’ll get to give her one or two…

Dear Max.Knowing your love of chocolate I hope you got some too! It;s been dampish and mild here today says heavy rain Monday that should make the Fly happy!I hadn’t heard about the Moose he will be busy training all the horses to his way of thinking!!Yes,Kingman is at Banstead so Kind won’t have to travel!I am waiting to see how Frankel’s brother turns out but as they say lightning doesn’t strike twice!Sheena.
Max
Yes, lots of chocolate along with snow. Cannot go out because the streets are pretty hopeless. It’s cold too.
Glad for the Moose. Sounds like he’s found a good home and it looks like he will continue with his Twitter account. Moosie also has those osprey on site for company. They must have gone with him.
Lightning seems to have struck more than twice already. Mission’s race record is very impressive. Bullet Train did well too. Kind has produced a stellar family.
Max
Sheena. Just saw replay of Abby’s race today at Gowran. He fell, but he still finished the race without Paul Townend. What a trooper. Are those two okay?
shirleeinindy
Our Zenyatta a beautiful face with such kind eyes. You can tell she has been loved and well treated all her life by the way she relates to people. I would love to hug her and give her some mints no matter how muddy she might be.
Was wondering if the had/will have a police escort for her van ride to Claiborne for her date with war front. After all, she is precious cargo. Wonder if they will make him have a shower before he sees her????
shirleeinindy
Oops, make that has a beautiful face.
Unruly fingers as I await the results of the Essex at Oaklawn.

Dear Max.I can’t find any news about Abby or Paul.I should think both are well.I heard More of That may run after test results don’t they remember Best Mate I know his bleed was far more serious but…Main Sequence is also running in Dubai Graham Motion is happy that CC will travel to Dubai as well.Heard there has been a shooting in Copenhagen terrorist related!Stay warm and cosy surrounded by chocolates!Sheena
Max
Hope that those two are okay. Paul was thrown clear and Abby got right up and kept on going to the end.
Worry about horses who bleed. They tend to need time off.
Main Sequence is a foreign owned horse so that his peeps may see racing about the world in a different way. I tend to agree with the idea that there are more than enough good races and competition in North America for US and Canadian horses to prove themselves. Morton Fink has always resisted calls for Wise Dan to race elsewhere. Toronto is far enough away for Danny. Zenyatta never went overseas either.
Barbara Wood
What a beautiful surprise! I love to see how kindly our Zenny interacts with visitors. We would expect nothing less. Personally, I feel that if you give a horse respect, he/she will return it. It just makes me desperately sad that some never experience it. Kudos to all of Team Z for these fabulous treats.
Barbara Wood
Having read some of the previous comments about Zenny’s coat, I just have to say that she looks fabulous wherever and whenever we get to see pictures! Horses love to roll.
Right now, our boy has mudball earrings as hard as rocks. We will eventually get them out without ripping out his mane.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Barb:
You have me laughing out loud with your description of Money’s “mud ball earrings”. Too cute and funny. Love and Hugs, JB
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Of course as you know Frankel never left these shores and still became the horse of a lifetime.Traveling is tiring enough for humans let alone a nervy TB.I hope Monty and Glesni have heard of the Moose’s move they will be due back hopefully late march.I remember I was very nervous that fateful day Best Mate ran at Exeter somehow it didn’t came as a great shock to learn he had died.2 shootings in Copenhagen now one in a synagogue. Our Archbishop of Canterbury has caused a furore by actually apologizing for the Dresden bombings while never mentioning our RAF heroes! As you would expect many comments about him onlineRule Britannia I say!!!Sheena.
Max
Cecil wisely resisted calls to race that horse in Europe or the USA. Part of it was Cecil did not like travelling himself either. He also once complained about American hamburgers. It was said in a good natured way as was typical of Cecil.
Let me know if you hear anything from Mullins about Abby. I hate it when a horse falls, and Abby has already had some bad falls like that one last spring with shorty.

Dear and adorable Zenyatta, dear Team Z, and dear Z fans!

February 15 Cherokee Devotional
Like children, slender new oaks have taken a stand beneath the great ones that have stood the seasonal changes for well over a hundred years. What stories they could tell about the wild animals and human creatures that have shared this place.
These spreading oaks have a blush of green haloed in early morning rays, and on cloudy days a mist hangs like gauzy curtains to blue the shadows. Here the wild rose canes have turned from green to gray and back to green many many times.
What man is does not always show on the face he wears-but this wood has no masks. Its comforting arms invite us to love and share and to feel at home.
As I stand before you my mind runs over many fierce battles…but now my heart is glad.
