Hello fans,
Last year we held our first ever Zenyatta.com Celebration, and its success left us with no doubt about hosting it again. This event is about celebrating Zenyatta’s accomplishments on and off the track and this community of fans that has only grown since her retirement.
The next four days will be full of Zenyatta love! We’ve prepared a live feed of fan photos (contribute via Instagram or email), an oversized comment section for sharing and discussion, the 2014 Celebration Sticker, an auction of exclusive Zenyatta memorabilia, and our Grand Prize, An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta.
The Celebration is four days only, October 31 through Monday November 3. During this time you can bid on all of the items listed below. Don’t forget to pick up your Celebration Sticker and be automatically entered to win An Invitation to Meet Zenyatta!
All proceeds from this event will be donated to Thoroughbred Rehab Center, Inc. Good morning Sheena and Z fans.
What an exciting finish for the Classic yesterday.Congratulations to Bayern and Sheena, what a great race for Toast of New York. I am especially happy that California Chrome had such a fantastic race, while I would have loved him to win he showed he is a great horse with so much heart and talent. Love those chestnuts!!
I can picture the flowers under Zenyatta’s starue and am thinking about Little Curly Mane, our beloved Princess a lot. Was not able to watch the racing yesterday, saw the replay of the Classic this morning. Living life fully is what she was all about,Ann is so brave to carry on and do so much good while she is grieving.
Dear Judy
I hope you have a good visit at the farm and that you find Dubai doing better today.
Continued prayers for his recovery- the good news this week after his X-Ray was so welcome and appreciated. Blessings to him for healing. Please give him a kiss for all of us. Love and hugs,Debbie
Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Well the excitement of the BC is over for another year. Congratulations to all the winners and the US for such a good showing.
Wish our Chrome would have won but at least he placed maybe that will quiet some of the naysayers. Hope they bring him back next year.
Especially happy for our Judy B. as her namesake Judy the Beauty won with Mikey aboard!! Hope the owners don’t sell or if they do she stays in the states. I hope you have a wonderful visit with Charlie and Dubai is continuing to improve, such good news about the x-rays!!
Glad their were no breakdowns or injured jockeys, I always say a prayer for their safety before each race.
I wish to thank Team Zenyatta for a great contest, sure would love to win a visit with our beloved Mama Zen, I’ll certainly be keeping my fingers crossed. hugs to all
Kisses to Zenny and CoZ and Ziconic and to our little angel Lily

Dear Sue:
Happy for JTB and Mikey. Thank you for your prayers for Dubai. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Ann Moss
Just wanted to share a little note to you. I went to a rememberance service today at my Church. It was wonderful Although, I cried during the whole service. But it was something I very much needed. At the Alter during communion service I asked the Good Lord to please take care and help you during this hard time. I Asked him to please have Z Princess with him. I know she’s there. She’s Heavens Gain. I think they are all Heaven’s Gain, Street Cry, Tasty, Secretariat. Too many to mention but my prayers are for all.
As I’m about to leave to go for lunch. My phone went off it was the alert from the new horse racing App that I just love. Call to the post sounded it said J Valasquez, K McPeek at Aqueduct l5 min to post. I stopped to think and smile what beautiful horses we still have here to love and pray for their safety and quality life. Even though it hurts so badly and know it will for a long time missing the ones we’ve lost it sure helps to believe we’ll see them again and Their Heavens Gain.
Love You Ann, Jerry, Dottie, John & All of Team Z.
Love You Zenyatta, Coz, Ziconic, Montey all horses and all Z Family here on the Blog

What a great day of racing and looked like there were few problems. I really like watching the young horses develop as they progress in their careers. I’m hoping we will see Coz in his first race soon. JS knows when the time will be right.
Thinking about Princess Z and wondering if she was buried at LE? Since she lived her short life there and I know they have a cemetery seems like it would be Ann’s choice.
My horse angels are buried in their favorite pasture under the big pine trees. This was one of their favorite spots to graze. it is very peaceful there. It is enclosed by a fence but I notice my current horses will stand and rest at this spot from time to time.

Does anyone have a report on Vicar’s in Trouble? I haven’t had time to check the BH site, but I will go there now to see.

Dear Z Fans:
Will post a longer update later; have some good news on Hudson.
Dubai is feeling so much better; he’s full of himself and wants to be out of his stall. Angela is allowing him to be hand walked, but nothing else. He still has a way to go. His feet are being soaked and wrapped twice a day and he’s still on antibiotics and pain meds, but he’s so much more comfortable. Thank God and all of you for your prayers.
Charlie and everyone else is doing just fine. Setting up a video I took to show you of Frank eating his favorite snack, Dunkin Donut jelly filled Munchkins and one of Hudson.
Love and Hugs, JB
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Dear Judy B. Thank you for your update and will wait for more. I am thrilled Dubai is responding to treatment so well. Prayers keep coming!

Dear Judy B.,
Yippee! So glad to hear that Dubai is “feeling his oats” and is more comfortable today. Will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and Hugs to him, Charlie, HT and the entire family!
More Love and Hugs to you and Lola Mae, too

Dear Judy
Soo glad he’s getting better

Dear Judy:
Excellent news on Dubai! Many thanks St Frank, but don’t relax just yet (think you know the drill).
I think I’d keep quiet about the food being given to Frank: don’t want the Aussie Ambassador to think you’ve got an emu who may need to be put on a strict diet after tucking into those donuts! Just make sure you give him a beer chaser, and it will all be apples. Hugs KathyR

Dear Sally, Ann, Marshall, Peggy and Kathy R:
Thank you for your sweet words and continued prayers for Dubai.
Peggy, Love and Hugs, JB
Marshall, Love and Hugs to you and Reilly, JB
Ann, I think Angela has given up on blankets for Charlie and his mates. They are constantly ripping them off of each other. Love and Hugs, JB
Kathy R, Love your post. Angela said the woman she got Frankie from told her his favorite snacks were the jelly Munchkins. So, she’s been obliging his cravings for them. I don’t know about the beer chaser; maybe Guinness like Z. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Judy.So happy to hear the good news from the farm.Waiting to see the video and hear about Hudson.Jamie has big plans for Toast after his thrilling run last night. It is very doubtful he will run in England again. The Dubai World Cup is on the agenda and a return to the Classic at Keeneland next year.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Little Cap Hercules Dubai Frank Boo and all the Sweeties.Love and hugs.SheenaX
Max
Sheena. It’s doubtful for a reason. Toast as a U.S. bred horse prefers to run on dirt or synthetics. Osborne is now looking for races with big payouts on those surfaces. England is turf country. It’s a pity that they decided against a run in the KD for Toast.
Is the Moose free yet?
Max
Wise Dan fans. His younger sister Enchanting Lisa was 3rd in the Chilluki Stakes yesterday at Keeneland. She ran well. She’s another horse who prefers the dirt like her other bro Successful Dan. Lisa seems to be a late developer like the most interesting horse in the world. She’s staying in training. News is that the interesting one is still at Keeneland. Get well Dan. We need you.
Peggy (N) South Georgia
Thanks Max
Love Enchanting Lisa and Dan so much
Max
Everything reminds me still of Z Princess and it’s painful. Enchanting Lisa is called Enchanting not only because she is. It is a direct link to her sire. Her father is War Chant, a son like War Front of Danzig. To carry the coincidence even farther, the blood of Kris S and Roberto is on the distaff like Zenyatta and her lost baby. This is a very great loss to Jerry and Ann Moss and also to racing. She will be always remembered by those who love and honor her mother. RIP Z Princess.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Max:
So very true. RIP beautiful Z Princess. Love and Hugs, JB

For anyone who missed this race in the Breeders Cup, it is really exciting to watch a video of Bobby’s Kitten, named after Bobby Frankel, come from dead last to win like our Zenyatta. Frankie Dettori must have wondered what clawed victory from No Nay Never. It was Bobby’s Kitten, maybe with a little help from on high?
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/88498/bobbys-kitten-last-to-first-in-turf-sprint
Z13Rulz
While it’s a nice notion (a little help from on high) the reality is actually just as fascinating.
The jockey talked about how they had been having a hell of a time with Bobby’s Kitten because he doesn’t like to rate. He likes to run his own race (has his own mind, just like his name sake!) and that in races where he has to rate, he wastes his energy fighting the jockey.
So they finally shortened him up to sprints where he could run like a bat outtah you know where and be legitimately competitive and so the jockey doesn’t have to fight him. Just let him run his race.
Nice to see an owner and trainer doing what’s right for the horse rather than keep trying to force him into longer two turn races where he hates it. In that respect, perhaps that’s where the “help from on high” came from!
Max
Thanks for these details. Very interesting. Loved that race.
sheena.davies(wales)
Dear Max.Is’nt Moose’s appeal coming up soon?I will be emailing the beak!I do hope Nigel will wear his best suit to represent our boy!I am sure Jamie regrets not running Toast in the KD.I watched the classic on you-tube and it was sooo close!!!Free the Moose!!
Max
Sheena. Moose says that it’s soon. I hope that he’s been doing some training and not just standing around his paddock munching carrots and waiting for Annie to show up. Clearly with the flat season over, it’s jumps. The Fly is returning on November 16.
Guess Osborne miscalculated a bit on Toast. He’s a dirt horse for sure. Heard talk of going to Japan in December or Hong Kong? Toast seems to travel well. Some horses can handle it, and actually enjoy it. Toast might be one of them. He’s won a lot of cash already with just Dubai and the Classic.
Ann NC
Go Fly!
Thanks for the heads up, Max.

Dear Judy
So very happy to hear that Dubai is improving and will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
It was great to hear your namesake Judy the Beauty won yesterday.I think she is a gorgeous chestnut and am so happy that things are going well for her.She was going to be sent to auction twice and was not put in the ring at the last moment ( after her two year old and three year old seasons). Her trainer says she just keeps getting better and is going to keep her in training for 2015.Her name is perfect, she is beautiful!!
Dear Max
Thanks for the news of Enchanting Lisa doing well in her race at Keeneland yesterday.
Dan wil be proud and hope he is starting to feel better.
Max
Good business decision for all as Noble Mission might get less takers in Europe because of his father and brother. Zenny however seems to prefer stallions with proven track records as sires. Noble Mission like his bro does not have that as of now. In addition, Mission himself is a late developer and a turf horse. These are not the most attractive traits to US breeders who are looking for classic runners, who can race on dirt at 3. The Princess was such a magnificent foal, large, beautifully built and full of presence, that a trip to see War Front again might indeed be on the cards.
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Debbie:
Thank you for your prayers for Dubai.
Judy The Beauty is, indeed, named appropriately. Glad she will be back racing next year.

The magnificent Noble Mission is coming to Lane’sEnd in 2015!!! Whoo-Hoo!!!Maybe a mate for Zenyatta!Ending his career on a high winning the Champion Stakes emulating his famous brother Frankel and now in line for a Cartier Award.Have a wonderful life at Lane’s End.They will adore you!Hugs SheenaX

Sheena,
Wow that is exciting news!! He will love living a LE and will have plenty of visitors as they do allow fans to visit the stallions.
Maybe someday he and Zenny will meet, I think they will probably go back to War Front after the loss of our dear Lily at least the next breeding. But maybe in the future. hugs
Judy Berube From Rhode Island
Dear Sheena and Sue:
Wow, that’s wonderful. Wouldn’t that be something if Z was bred to NM.
Sue, I was thinking the same thing; that Z may be bred back to War Front. There will never be a replacement for Z Princess, but another beautiful baby. Love and Hugs, JB
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
I indeed agree, but War Front needs another try and would pray it would be a filly.
Nothing could ever replace our zprincess.

November 3 Cherokee Devotional
The fields that now lay cool with dew were baking in the sun only weeks ago. Change comes swiftly and what seemed forever suddenly ceases. The trees have changed from green to all shades of ga ga ge, red, and soon they will take on brown and russet. Even the birds that stay over winter have changed their songs, so that it takes experience to identify them. Hawks whistle ominously and owls hoot when clouds hide the sun. Nature is slowly settling down for a rest. Only man tries to keep up a relentless pace. So much that was hidden can now be seen. The view has widened with every fallen leaf. Little treasures, a burr acorn, an owl feather, a pretty rock, are more easily found on the path. It is autumn and life has already begun to renew itself for another time, another season.
I love the land on which I was born, the trees which cover it, and the grass growing on it. It feeds us well.

Dear Kathy.Great to have your devotional today. It’s certainly changed here today, much cooler after our hot Halloween.Great news that NM is heading to Lane’s end! Both Marty and I are crying because Monday comes around so quickly.Zoe looked to have had fun in Sedona and she also got a Mango calendar.Did you see the video of our Pudsey in BGT?I remember voting for him and was thrilled when he won.I think Mango is competing with the First Lady with her extensive wardrobe she was so well-behaved at the football match even mum was in tears. She looked so beautiful in her patriotic dress.Dolly the Diva is keeping well not so hot there now she had a gorgeous dress for Halloween.Did you see the lovely cushion Sandy made for Joey?Theba has a beautiful cat of her own too.The Maine coons are massive but very cuddly.Love the video of Tom and Joey doing the foreCats.Hope you have a great week.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Kathy
Dear Sheena,
It’s chilly here, too. We even got some rain!!! Supposed to warm up again into the 80s later this week. That is great news that Noble Mission is coming to Lane’s End! If he becomes Zenyatta’s “date” she won’t have to travel far for the rendezvous. Cute pic of Marty crying because it’s Monday. He’s so expressive! Zoe had a lot of fun in Sedona, but Diane had to keep washing Zoe’s paws. The earth is red there…wouldn’t look good on Zoe’s white fur. Hurray that she got a Mango calendar. Pudsey is an immensely talented dog. He certainly deserved to win! I’m sure Mango would be neck-in-neck in a wardrobe competition with the First Lady. Fantastic video at the game. So heartwarming. Haven’t checked on Dolly. Will do so. Ditto on Joey. Will check him, too. Love Maine Coon cats with their bobcat tufts on their ears. So exotic looking! Will look for the Tom and Joey video you mentioned. Have a good day and a good week. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.

I am praying for the Mosses and all of Z Princess’s connections at Lanes End. I am still so sad, but I have faith that she is in a good place.
I hope with time they will all be able to heal from this terrible loss.
In the meantime, we can look forward to Cozmic One’s first race and we can watch Ziconic continue to grow.

Dear Z Fans:
Deb and Amanda have been thinking about moving Hudson to a boarding stable that has an indoor ring so that they can ride all year round. A small stable that has room for 15 horses, with indoor and outdoor rings, located just a walk away from the farm became available. Hudson, Deb and Amanda walked there on Friday and Hudson is now getting used to her new surroundings. The property is currently being leased by a husband and wife until the Spring when it will go up for sale. If for whatever reason; due to sale, etc, Deb and Amanda have to move out, Angela has agreed that Hudson can return to the farm.
Dubai is improving every day, thanks to your prayers and Angela’s diligence.
Charlie, Frank, Boo and all the Sweeties are well.
Here is a video of Hudson in the new indoor ring. One of Frank enjoying his favorite jelly Munchkin snack and a photo of Charlie in his western tack ready for a trail ride.

I have to agree about Bob Costas. How I long for Jim McKays wonderful feeling for the races he covered. Can’t imagine who will receive Vox Populi or HOY. CC should definitely be 3 yo and probably Hoy but there seems to be some bias, as usual, involved.

I agree about Jim McKay. We always loved the sports he worked on. What a gentleman.
