Congrats to RV. She was awesome. Hope everyone has a wonderful, happy and safe Labor Day weekend. Will dream of kissing soft noses, Zenny, Coz, Zi and our Princess. Kissed my Dixie dog, Darla kitty and Bubba horse many times today. My Nacho horse is in training and I miss him so much, but the the trainer says he is doing great.
We’ve known extremes. We have pushed beyond common sense and we have paid a price for it. Most of us know what is good for us, but we allowed ourselves to be influenced where we should have stood our ground.
This is true even of the little things-though often the results are not little at all. Things like eating and drinking and talking too much, these things are not bad in particular, but so easily overdone. There’s no obvious stopping place so we are well past the stop sign before we know it is there. Education? Awareness? Group understanding? These things may help, but a thorough adjustment in the soul and spirit is the only lasting answer.
My Great Father…told me that fire and water were alike, and that we cannot live without either of them.

Dear Kathy.Lone Wolf is very wise.Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend and looking forward to seeing AP today at Del Mar.Wookie looks to be recovering well isn’t Dexter growing?.Could see the sweet little Kitty on Joey’s page and some women sent in a pic of her missing kitten.Looks exactly the same.Hopefully there will be a happy ending. What about that poor tiger cub found wondering in a district of CA and he had been declawed. How cruel. He is living in a sanctuary now and will most probably need surgery.Fubu had a busy day after visiting the doc even visited Walmart. He was’nt keen on his injections but has put on a little weight. It’s growing quieter on the Algarve so Mr No Ears can stretch out on his favourite bench plus the weather is cooler better for his skin condition. The ratties saw the photo of the aliens last night. They will visit again for snacks!!Zoe had a busy day with her teams playing and therapy visits.Me Al certainly has some tales to tell a driver’s license at 10yrs old! It’s quite cool but sunny here again.Andy is through to the last 16 in the US open and Jo Konta is doing so well but Rafa is out!!

Yes, I’m certainly looking forward to seeing AP. This is my last chance to do so before he leaves for KY. Yes, Wookie is recovering nicely from the looks of it. Dexter is huge, but he sure seems to love his pom siblings. Lucky for them! The kitten on Joey’s page is very cute. I hope there’s a happy ending, too! That tiger cub is actually in Riverside County, where I love. Poor boy. It’s horrible when cruel people are involved with any animal. Glad to hear Fubu has put on a little weight. Hope Mr No Ears enjoys the cooler weather. I saw the pic of the ratties seeing evidence of aliems. Too funny! Zoe is quite the social butterfly. She packs more into her days than most people! 10 year old drivers??? Now that’s SCARY! Enjoy the golf tournament. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO.
Well worth the trip to Turkey for Toormore. He disappointed in the Topkapi trophy last year but has just won this time for Godolphin,Richard Hannon and James Doyle.Sheena.
Huge congratulations to Michael Jung and Sam for winning at Burghley today.Despite limping after a dip in the water on the XC yesterday,Michael guided golden hooves Sam to a perfect clear round in the show jumping. Now for the European championships!!Sheena
Dear Sheena,
Just watched William Fox- Pitt and the Burghley Event Trial Helmet cam- he makes it look so easy. They show the helmet cam and the big picture of the actual cross country course. He jumps and approaches so smoothly and his horses footwork is so perfect. It is just amazing.

I got your e-mails- aol has made some changes and I was not able to even get e-mails at first; now they are not sending so I am working on that. Drat they keep on changing things on their server. God Bless the Queen and her long Monarchy and hope it lasts for many more years – she is a role model for all women. It is very strange to see the difference in racing styles between our dirt racing and your turf racing. One of our trainers had a very nice french colt that came to the US, poor fellow was confused, he ran him by himself and did not do well and then ran him in company and knew what to do. He did fairly well in the race. He won his two races in France, but will take a while to catch on, he was on the turf.

Dear Sheena,
Looking forward to hear of Paul’s team in the racing post, your flat season is so short. And it will be jumps without AP. Have you heard anything about his movie, it is supposed to preview at the Toronto music festival. William had a fuzzy brain, I am not surprized how that could happen, the concentration required for such a long time over that course and there is so much going on, water, twists, turns etc.. Is Laura going to be able to compete with her eye issue? It was so funny when our trainer said that horse was french, so matter of fact. Sometimes I wonder ??? Rachel has produced two dynamic children so glad for her as there will not be anymore foals for her. Her genes seem to go well with Bernardini and Zenny’s line does not go well with his. Godspeed to Monty and his family, did not realize Blue left before he did. Love and hug
Dear Tizgood.Laura is competing in the euros this week.We will get to see some on our red button service on the BBC and then there is a programme on a week today. The Germans are riding high at the moment.Only 6 fish were caught this week all for Monty I think Blue got a bit fed up in the end.Monty’s a one-woman man!Love and hugs Sheena.
Dear Sheena,
Good for Monty, even her attempt after the family left did not work. I feel sad for her, but Dai Dot was a good catch and she must have snubbed him for something she could/can not have. Maybe Dai Dot is not committed to his first breeding partner? I hope she finds someone next year. Funny she did snatch a fish from him once. The Germans are tough
in jumping and eventing. So Laura is back competing, glad about that. She had a horrific accident. I just watched Gary Stevens win a turf race now I know what you mean, when they get on the lead, they slow things down to save energy in case they need a burst at the end. Not a strategy used in UK, very typical here. In fact, used by the very experienced jockey’s just watched a race Gary Steven’s used it and won on turf on OM,

Good news in today’s local paper – Lady Eli’s prognosis is still good & she is looking good & doing really well. She is still in her stall at Chad Brown’s barn at Belmont. Chad Brown said that she has really good chances & that she will be put back into training at some point. They are optimistic, but still guarded.
It looks like Lady Eli has a caring owner who is doing everything possible to help her recover just like Mr. Zayat did for Paynter. Racing needs more caring owners like these.

Thanks for the news. You are so right. We need more caring owners. I do think the examples set by the big owners like Zayat and others along with Danny’s owner will do a lot to bring the others on board.
Dear Sheena,
Just watched the Belmont Stakes that Rags to Riches won against Curlin. I did not realize she was owned by Coolmore Ireland. Then read up on all of her foal and she has not had a successful racing pogeny. She has a Giant’s Causeway mare Opulence that has been bred to Stay Thirsty, Shang Hai Bobby and this year to Declaration of War. I think she is in
the US. Rags is in Ireland and had a HenrytheNavigator foal and 4 Galileo foals. She was barren in 2015 and was bred to Australia. They are trying to get a stallion to carry on her line. I guess this is an example of a great race horse that is unable to reproduce herself. Two of her foals have raced and were off the board. Todd Pletcher has her 2 year old Galileo colt, he is a gorgeous bay. Wonder if he will be a dirt or turf horse? Andre Fabre has has her other Galileo colt and there is a Galileo filly that is staying in Ireland. Coolmore is still hopeful. She is quite the broodmare, alpha and bossy, knows she is special. Hers story shows there is no genetic guarantees.

Many weak excuses come to mind to give us a right to self-pity-we don’t feel well, we haven’t slept in a week, or we simply don’t know what others expect of us. All these things can be true and all have a devastating effect, but we could have said we are in the midst of a pity celebration.
Mind games tell us we need an excuse to keep from being overwhelmed with obligations. We don’t need any excuse to say we are simply not up to the challenges at this time. If people want to be offended it is their privilege, but right now self-honesty and rest are more important.

Autumn shadows grow long across the land and a sunset washes the sky with colors of a ripe peach. The color deepens and spreads in cherry-colored streaks until even the grasses in the meadow are tinted pink.
A single cry from the deep woods could be the wail of a coyote or the shriek of an owl. Such primitive voices speak of sameness even while they change the human world.
Daytime activity ceases when evening draws its shadows through the woods. Deer feed quietly. Hounds pursue the raccoon and hundreds of tracks along the feed road tell us that humans may walk here but other species own the night.

Having a lot to think about and maintain makes us think our memory is not as good as it once was-and more than likely it isn’t. Not because of age or disease of some kind, but because we hear more than we used to; we have more trying to get our attention. But the main reason we don’t recall as easily is that we don’t want to. We are weary of having to be on our toes with useless facts and figures.
If all the activities of daily life are important enough, we will make a way to remember. Deep thought and meditation can displace things of memory we once thought important.

Everything is not our fault. All of life is not our doing. But the one thing we can count on is our thinking. Think things through honestly and without excuse. Don’t tell it, and don’t think that’s all there is to it.
The mind is the doorway to the heart and spirit. This is where the real part of us lives, where life springs forth or gives up. Knowing this, we can go in and clean house and begin to feed ourselves life-food. Life-food is from Galun lati, the Spirit-and without the Spirit, everything is our fault. Never be without the Spirit.

If you are standing deep in trouble don’t talk disparagingly of things spiritual. Spirit is your hope. It is your wisdom and your healing, key to your money and your relationships. If you believe these things are not true-then you have the reason for your emptiness.
“Prove me now,” the wisdom goes. Spiritual things are provable. There is wisdom that can be tapped and put to good use when it has made the right connections. Right connections are not just people but Spirit. Breakdowns occur without Him, breakthroughs happen with Him.

How wonderful to see AP in person. He is a very special racehorse, being so personable and in training. Most are so tightly wound they don’t want much human contact. He has a very special personality. Like Zenyatta, in the middle of training and can turn it off until they are on the track. He is so gorgeous and shiny, can see his ribs, guess he might need to put some weight on, what an experience with all those people. Thanks for sharing
Love and hugs
I agree 100% with everything you said. AP is just the most gorgeous color, and his coat just shines, as you say. Wonderful temperament. He is a joy. Yesterday was my last chance to see him before he’ll be moved to KY. Who knows if I’ll see him at some point at Ashford? That would be a LONG trip for me!
Dear Kathy.I will read you devotionals each day.Hope you have a lovely time.I saw the video of AP parading yesterday. He loves all the attention.Knows he is the champ!Beautiful weather again.I will keep your Aunt in my prayers tomorrow and hope all goes well with her surgery. Also hope Holly has a wonderful birthday.James and Bob are already in Calais on their way to Cologne have heard a queue is forming there.Bob is enjoying the trip.I was pretty disappointed with “Lady Chatterley” last night.Far too tame!!!The screenplay was totally different from the well-known book.I could never see anyone embarrassed by the sex scenes. She did have beautiful clothes though.Wookie is doing well and went to the garden for a walk,Mango had one of her toching phone calls to God concerning Olive she always get the tears flowing.Judy and Nay got a new freezer and the coyotes had a party with the meat they dumped.I didn’t know it would have been Hawley’s birthday. They must miss him dreadfully.Have a great day no need for you to turtle today.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.Oh,30(05) is already south of Marrakesh.Be home soon!
Thanks so much. AP was just stunning. It is a thrill to be in his presence. I covet your prayers for my aunt. Thank you VERY much. I will give Holly a birthday kiss from you. James and Bob are celebrities! Sorry “Lady Chatterley” disappointed. I’m glad you enjoyed the clothes! Wookie seems to be recovering very nicely. He is sedated a little because of his cough. I would imagine his throat is very sore. Poor baby. Yes, I read Mango’s conversation with God. Extremely touching! I’m glad little Olive is out of pain now. That poor sweet little dog. Glad to hear Judy and Nay got their new freezer. Man…those coyotes eat disgusting stuff! Yes, I read that Hawley would have had a birthday. I feel sorry for the family missing him so much now. GO 30!!! It’s great to have a Monday where I don’t have to turtle! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
I was thinking earlier how, back in the day, Labor Day was the last day of Summer vacation from school and the next day was the first day of a brand new school year.. That doesn’t seem to be the case any more with so many school districts across the country opening in August. But, it does still seem like Labor Day heralds in the beginning of a new Fall season.
I was pretty happy with some races this weekend. My choice in the Woodward came in first so I got some points in our ‘Capping Contest. Didn’t improve my standing, but did help the ego to pick a winner. Yesterday, Ground Rules by Smart Strike out of Noble Idea, who was definitely one of Coz’s posse at Lane’s End, won his race at Del Mar. I still think he is Coz’s CMG, but have not seen a full face view of him all grown up and racing. For any not familiar, CMG stands for Crescent Moon Guy based on the shape of his blaze on his face. Coz and CMG seemed to be best buds as youngsters before going off to their respective farm/ “school” for their beginning race training. In the very next race at Del Mar yesterday, the Yellow Ribbon. the filly, She’s Not Here by Street Cry out of Where’s Bailey, Zenyatta’s half sister, won with Mike Smith riding. I read that he said that she had started dancing in the tunnel so he knew something big was going to happen. Nice excitement for him.
I hope everybody has a fun and safe holiday today.
Congrats on your win in the ‘capping contest. Have to watch the replay of Grounds Rule’s win at Del Mar. Remember COZ’s BFF, CMG, very well. Congrats to him and his connections. Love and Hugs, JB

We never did the white man any harm; we don’t intend to.

There are ways you have not dreamed existed-until you can see beyond your own limited vision to possibilities of real substance. It takes a certain mindset to stop believing in shortages and start seeing good things happen.
Some people believe they will never see their dreams fulfilled-they accept it. And that acceptance solidifies such beliefs into reality. You have developed a consciousness of ga lu lo gi, the Cherokee’s expression of lack.

We are all poor men; and I think others have got all the goods.

Any good thing you say to me shall not be forgotten.

We want to keep peace; will you help us?

Dear Sheena,
Had a fabulous time with AP yesterday. He is simply magnificent! Hugs, Kathy XOXO

Dear Kathy
How wonderful to see AP in person. He is a very special racehorse, being so personable and in training. Most are so tightly wound they don’t want much human contact. He has a very special personality. Like Zenyatta, in the middle of training and can turn it off until they are on the track. He is so gorgeous and shiny, can see his ribs, guess he might need to put some weight on, what an experience with all those people. Thanks for sharing
Love and hugs
Kathy
Dear Tizgood,
I agree 100% with everything you said. AP is just the most gorgeous color, and his coat just shines, as you say. Wonderful temperament. He is a joy. Yesterday was my last chance to see him before he’ll be moved to KY. Who knows if I’ll see him at some point at Ashford? That would be a LONG trip for me!
Happy Labor Day!
Love and hugs, Kathy

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Thanks so much.

Zenyatta’s ‘niece’, “She’s Not Here”, won yesterday at Del Mar in the Yellow Ribbon Handicap. Reminded me of Zenny – came from behind. Mike Smith was aboard. Wonderful win for her.!
