Beast fans. The Big Beast will not run in the Breeders’ Cup. He’s going on vacation until next year. Luckily for his followers, his owner has reportedly said that the Beast will return to the track as a 5 year old. Enjoy your time off, Beastie. Your fans will eagerly await your return.
Max,
Hope Beastie is not sick or injured and just needs some time to rest and graze. How much has he earned? Look forward to see him and hear of his antics next year. Safe vacation, Beastie.
The Beast is closing in on $800K. He’s also concerned about his second career. The Beast has plans to be a stallion. He wants to tote up some more prestige wins to attract the ladies. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t grow any taller on that vacation.
Thanks for the Beast news, Max. Beastie Boy had a good summer, proud of him.
Pack that super hero cape, Beast and enjoy your vacation.
Where did he book deluxe accommodations? Fair Hill?
Sweetest face ever! Love him!
Fair Hill might be the place. Tony Dutrow has a barn there. The Beast also gets along well with Tony’s pony. They probably wouldn’t want to be separated for long. Hoping that Big Trouble comes back next year too. He missed the whole 2015 season. Not certain if he’s been retired.

Dear Max, Shirlee, Ann and Z Fans:
Max, thanks for this news on Beastie. Hope he is feeling well and enjoys some R & R. Will look forward to his five year old campaign.
I keep checking for updates on Big Trouble and haven’t found anything. He’s had no works either. Record is two for two and last raced on 7/19/14. Thinking about trying to contact his listed owners, Team D. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Max,
Fair Hill seems to be the place to be in Maryland. From the photos, it is beautiful. Muchie spent a lot of time there and Pennmarydel is based there. Penn has been gelded in the not too distant past. Think the Big D blood got the best of him.
Dear Max.Of course I know Z13 was correct in her reply but,as I am sure with Zenyatta’s diaries,we all love to think they write their own blogs.I am a silly, sensitive soul I know.Karen has posted beautiful pics of her dog tonight a German Shepherd and tears have flowed on their FB today.
Sarah the admin on the Fly’s page is going to Irish Champions weekend and hopefully there will be photos. Some great videos of him especially relaxing plus a photo of him with a bride and groom. and he didn’t bite the bride!!Sheena
I totally agree that Hovis writes his own blogs. He just did not author that particular poem. That’s all that 13Zrulz was saying. Hovis gave credit to the author unknown on the blog. I’m also not faulting you for being sensitive. The world could do with a lot more of that.
If I’m not mistaken, The Fly usually does not bite women or children. He’s more inclined to bite Mullins or the owners of his rivals, who invade his space.
Dear Sheena,
Monty leaves like clockwork on September 5 every year, what a guy. Such a gorgeous
photo of him flying away. Would love to get the calendar.
So happy to hear the Fly is parading. He is a gorgeous boy.

Dear Judy B.,

On this long list of important things, is this present worry anywhere near the top? It could be, but most likely it isn’t. In a split second fear can shuffle our priorities into a jumbled mess until we see it all as one big hurdle.
Stop and ask if this is fact or fear. Fact can even be changed, but fear has a way of taking our deepest fear and molding it into a monster. We have a flair for begging monsters to stay away when we should be calling them cowards and shriveled and gone. We have the authority to do it-and it works because words have the power of life and death!
I want to tell you this, because I believe if you know it you will correct the evil.

Sad to visit the Dyfi today and see the empty nest.Monty must be well on his way by now.Maya finally left after she realised all her family had gone.Thank you for the Wookie link I am so happy his surgery was successful and hopefully now he can have a good quality of life.A lovely tribute to the Fly on our racing programme today. He’ll be out and about next weekend at the Curragh. Our champion -elect Sylvestre de Sousa is coming to spend the winter with you in the US and will be based in Belmont.Disaster at Judy’s yesterday the freezer in the garage had broken and all the meat was off.A powerful smell so she had to clear it all out and get a new one.I loved Ray’s waves!!Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.XOXO
Poor Zoe has lost so many friends, and so tragically, too. Prayers for all who need comfort today. Poor little Maya, that pulls on my heartstrings that she was all alone like that. Safe trip for her. I’m relieved that Wookie’s surgery is over with. Prayers for a fast recovery. So glad the Fly is getting such nice tributes. He is certainly deserving of them! Will have to read up on Sylvestre de Sousa. Poor Judy. The freezer breaking down sounds horrible! Yes, Ray’s waves were gorgeous. Such a handsome dog! My aunt’s surgery day is also Holly’s birthday. Dear Queen Z Family,
Have missed you all ‘so much’ the past 2 weeks. Zenny, I was in withdrawal from you, your website, and your fan family every day! We are finally home – was almost tempted to kiss the ground upon arrival.
The 2 large batches of quail babies have survived, although a few of their siblings did not survive (we suspect one of the four misbehaving roadrunners!). Our resident flycatcher showed up to perch on his usual nightly roosting place on the ceiling fan (the same fan blade every night) on the back patio. The hummers are still here – so had to refill the hummer feeders asap.
Can’t wait to catch up on everyone’s posts and news!
with much love, Elizabeth
PS Alys – what a treat to come home to these beautiful photos of our Queen! Thank you…thank you!
There’s a new video up on the NZ FB visitor’s section called “Splish Splash” which follows Mei and Butterstick the Sequel during one of the many, many, MANY baths Mei gives her little boy throughout the day! She’s going to need a splint for her tongue! I’m frankly surprised that the nannykeepers were able to get the Little Man out of the den long enough for a brief exam. Mei is SO protective of her babies; it was three weeks before the vets got their hands on Tai Shan when he was born in 2005 and after a brief looksie right after she was born, Mei didn’t let the keepers near Bao Bao for around two weeks. The fact that she was calm and secure enough to let the baby go out for an exam so soon (1 1/2 weeks) shows Mei just might be loosening up although she’s still a Type- A Mommy!
We had a discussion on a previous Blog on the wide discrepancies in stewards’ decisions on DQs. Guess they were at it again today. Haven’t seen the replay yet. Love and Hugs, JB

Wow, how exciting was that! RV won once again with that beautiful turn of foot . TVG compared her to her mom with that desire to beat other horses in front of her. She is on her way. So much for the sceptics. Can’t win if you don’t race. Trainer knows what he’s got so why hold her back.

Thank goodness Rachel’s little girl is safe and sound. Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the tv show. She truly is her mom’s girl. Great win for her. Dear Sheena,
Yes, Bailey and Smudge are quite the pair. They play hard and run fast! I couldn’t ask for a nicer fit, and I enjoy them so much. Now if only they would ignore the toad-frogs! Bailey seems to know not to lick them, but Smudge doesn’t understand that concept. He has picked one up in his mouth, and of course, this causes lots of drooling and foaming at the mouth. He has touched one with his tongue at least twice more since the first time with the exact same “bad taste” effect. Maybe he will link the cause and effect eventually? I hope so, but so far there have been no frog injuries which is good. Reilly used to find toads very interesting also, but he had no desire to “taste” one!
Thanks for your post!
Hugs and Love
Jumping for joy with Rachel’s Valentina’s win. Congrats to Tap To It and Constellation. All these two year olds definitely will be excitiing to follow. Stay safe, strong, and happy sweet girls.
Congratulations to today’s winners at Saratoga! I am so glad and thankful that all finished safe and sound! Cheers!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I will actually be off on Monday. We don’t normally close for Monday holidays, but since we are going out of business, my boss decided to take a day off. He has sold the property, and we need to clear everything out by the end of this month. He is retiring, but I have no wish to retire. Hope I can find a part-time job since I need the structure/routine. Something will turn up. In the meantime, I need to work on decluttering my house — 30+ years in the same place can really fill up the spaces!
Hugs and Love
Hi! Marshall, I, also, was delighted the Saratoga meet ended on a good note. Enjoy your day off. I can relate to the +years filling up places. I am of retirement age but, I am not ready to sit home, as long as I can drive and my eyes & brain still function. I’ll continue until the day comes when I get in my vehicle and I don’t know where I’m suppose to go.lol As we go through life routines do change due to different circumstances but, I think it is good to have certain routines, I am no longer able to have my horses or raise my goats, that all changed years ago with the economy. However, I still enjoy going to work daily. Good luck in your job search. I am sure something will turn up. Take good care.
Dear Mary Margaret,
Love your post. I really like your plan to retire when you get in your car and don’t know where you are supposed to go. Sounds good to me!
Glad that you enjoy what you do, too. That makes all the difference.
Have a good Labor Day!

In the meantime, I need to work on decluttering my house — 30+ years in the same place can really fill up the spaces!
