Dear Judy,
That is a wonderfully bred colt wonder why they are not racing him or Darley is not purchasing him. Seems like he would be a million dollars or more, maybe he got sick,
had conformation issues, wanted to wait until two years old? Any variety of reasons,
after thought and decided to keep him. They are not a stallion farm. So love Wintermemories.
Love and hugs
I love how Coz is eyeing his baby brother warily. He probably remember their last meeting when Zi bared his teeth at him. Zi,on the hand, has obviously had a growth spurt. It looks like he’s as big as his older brother as far as height. Zenyatta, you make handsome sons!
He was a Chestnut and he had the “Bend Or” spotting. Turns out one of his daughters, Fairy Gold, was exported to America and was the Dam of Fair Play and 1916 Belmont winner, Friar Rock. Have you been watching the increasingly excruciatingly painful cuteness going on on the NZ Panda Cam? Lil’ Butter Tub has gotten so much bigger and is now over a pound in weight. From now on, he’ll gain a pound or two a week. He has the most adorable cowlick sticking up on his head which Mei tries (unsuccessfully) to keep down. He’s getting better at being left for longer periods so Mommy can eat, but Mei has learned when the low growls start, Baby Boy’s patience is wearing thin and the screaming will soon begin! LOUDLY! I’m impressed that he can already push himself up on his front legs and turn himself over. Of course, his big fat tum-tum makes turning over hard work! His eyes should start opening within the next couple weeks and his ear canals will open soon after: then the REAL fun begin! Toddling!

Judy Berube from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
I’ve said it before, Z Princess was perfection.
Thanks for remembering Dubai; will be one year in October that he came to the farm and one year in November that he passed.
Dear Sheena,
She is gorgeous warfront filly. One of Mandy Pope’s prizes out of Betterbetterbetter that
she paid $5.4 million for. All of the big breeders are going for a Galileo broodmare.
There was a Tapit colt that went for $1.6 million and the Zayat’s bought. Bernardini filly
for $1.4 million. No photos of either. Big money at the September sale. The Mosses don’t have to go anymore they just wait for Z’s youngsters to grow up.

This year sees the 75th anniversary of the”Battle of Britain”.The objective of the Germans and the Luffwaffe was to achieve air superiority over the RAF especially fighter command. They failedThe British forced Hitler to posipone and cancel Operation Sea Lion. However, the bombings continued and became known as the “blitz”.In fact Wales thought it has escaped the worst of the bombings ,we were sadly mistaken,
I echo some of Winston Churchill’s words at the time”Let us brace ourselves to our duties and so ask ourselves that,if the British Empire and the Commonwealth last for a thousand years men will say This was our finest hour.
Never in the field of human conquest was so much owed by so many to so few.

Dear Judy.News of CC is Art Sherman is happy for him to travel to Dubai next year. There is a lot of criticism of him on the BCH page. They kicked me out because I got fed up with the insults when CC visited our shores.Just hope they have the horse’s best interests at heart.Michael has been overwhelmed by messages about Brown Panther. He was well-known as a footballer but the Panther was a much-loved horse. So happy you got to see Bentley and Charlie.Summer got 6 rosettes this weekend!Hopefully Connie’s leg will heal.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

So thankful that we Z Fans can express our opinions here with understanding and respect for each other. Look forward to this Blog so much and love and appreciate all of you. Love and Hugs, JB
I suspect that Art’s response was “politically correct” for the circumstances. He really didn’t say that he wanted to go – just that it would be great to win that big race :-)
Good point, but I think he’s in the middle again of owners that may not listen to their trainer. Unfortunate. Just hope CC recovers and is sound. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Sheena and Judy,
It is a good idea for CC to go back and try to win the Dubai World Cup, it will be
good for his breeding as a stallion. Also, the bone bruising was caused by too much time in training. Dr Bralmage said it is caused by too much time in a stall and not enough time in the pasture. I thought it was caused by running on the hard European turf. That is incorrect. Dr. Bralmage says horses in training spend so much time in a stall they don’t get enough circulation to their hoofs so it causes a bruise. So CC needs to be out in a pasture walking around like a horse to increase circulation to the hoof that is bruised for 3 months and the bruise will resolve. So it is not from trauma, it is from standing around.
So he is now being a horse at Taylor Made and hopefully will have a good 5 year old racing campaign. Taylor Made was also talking about his breeding possibilities, he is a throwback to the old sturdy TB like Seattle Slew and Secretariat. His pedigree has a lot of possibilities with mares in their band as well as other Ky broodmare bands.

Judy,
Love the Valentine and her brother Taco. Someone posted earlier that Taco’s paddock buddy, Chili-Union Jackson, is going to be starting soon. Zeal is very human. Every successful diet, every effort to think positively, and every good intention is preceded by zeal. But the results are often mixed, because without wisdom and understanding there is no power to sustain zeal-no real change inside.
Human effort without spirituality is like the grasshopper in autumn. Its desire to spring as high as it did in spring is overtaken by lethargy.
Ability is a hundred times more effective with a reasonable amount of zeal-but add wisdom and the grasshopper mentality is lost forever.
I have buried the past; and I don’t want to be mad for the past.

It’s raining this morning! 1 1/2 inches in LA! Most we’ve had in a long, long time. I’m taking my umbrella to work. Sorry to read of Gizmo’s sister’ illness. We’re never ready to lose our furbabies. Had to laugh at Jack O’s pic. He doesn’t like Mondays, either. I was surprised to see the ratties enjoying a pickle. Never would have guessed that! I hope the special diet helps Mango. I feel for Judy and that long trip. Exhausting! Little Cakee’s calendar will make people smile, I’m sure. Poor Kimberly, sounds like her arthritis is severe. Poor Roo Ripley. That’s good he’s tolerating his treatment. I’ll look for the pics of the Fly. Poor Loki. Hope he’s better soon. You have a great day, too. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Seeing the beautiful War Front filly really brought to mind Z Princess. Like everyone I grieve for what might have been. She was the most extraordinary baby. Hard to believe Breeders Cup is just around the corner.
DebE,
Every time I look at that pic of Coz I burst into laughter. What a hoot. He is telling all of us to just wait and see what he can do. As usual, The Red Prince takes my breath away. Thanks for posting.
Deb E. hah hah funny Mr. Coz pic and a great advertisement for Crest extra whitning toothpaste. hah and then a beautiful one of Zi. Wow, love them both!
hugs, Sally B
Thank you for these. Wow, ZI is filling out nicely. The photo of both of them walking is a hoot. ZI has to understand that Big Brother goes first. ZI looks like he’s saying “Why can’t I lead the parade”. Too cute!. Love and Hugs, JB
DebE,
Love the look in Zi’s eyes as he is walking behind his brother. That guy is so expressive and I believe has his share of the imp of mischief. Looks like he wants to get into trouble.
Here’s one for you Sheena! The most recent picture of Lil’ Butter Tub is up on the National Zoo’s FB page! Notice the adorable rolls of fat around his tummy and his sweet little leg! Unfortunately, it looks like the cow lick has been slicked back for the picture. I can never get enough of those teeny, tiny claws! yes, someday they will be long and lethal enough to gut you like a fish, but right now they are too adorable for words!!!!!
lauraj,
Sure would not want to bet against her. The Classic looks like it is going to be a special one. AP and Keen Ice will probably meet again along with Frosted and some others and then Beholder. Wow!
Dear Deb E.I have just seen the new pic of Butter Tub on the Zoo’s FB.He’s getting to be a real little panda now and he’s snuggling with mum in the den. They just get cuter by the day.I saw Victor dancing as well. He’s got the moves but should keep the day job I think!Len’s given up judging now hasn’t he?He’s still on our version. We have 4 judges Bruno,Craig, Len and Darcey Bussell the ballerina Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are the presenters.Hugs Sheena.
Len decided that flying between the U.K. and the U.S. for both dancing shows was too much and said he was staying with his first love, the U.K. show. So congratulations! You got Len, and we get rotating guest judges.
To me, same comparison as with Zenyatta. Beholder has spent her life whipping other fillies, and no more to prove. Yea! Her odds in BC are 5/1, and AP 3/2. The rest of the field, well, pathetic. Hope Bindi wins DWTS too.

Wow, what a match that would be. You never know; might happen. Love and Hugs, JB

September 15 Cherokee Devotional
Zeal is very human. Every successful diet, every effort to think positively, and every good intention is preceded by zeal. But the results are often mixed, because without wisdom and understanding there is no power to sustain zeal-no real change inside.
Human effort without spirituality is like the grasshopper in autumn. Its desire to spring as high as it did in spring is overtaken by lethargy.
Ability is a hundred times more effective with a reasonable amount of zeal-but add wisdom and the grasshopper mentality is lost forever.
I have buried the past; and I don’t want to be mad for the past.

Dear Kathy.Great devotional.I was thinking of you in CA as it poured down here last night and promises very wet tomorrow with gales! That’s our summer gone for a burton! Gizmo’s sister is not very well but too elderly for treatment so they will keep her comfortable Very wise decision.Ray has lost so many friends lately. It seems Jack O isn’t too keen on Mondays either!Poor Mr Fibbs was kept in a holding cell while in RI.Judy could have gone to bisit him!!!Mango is on a special diet for her crystals now.Judy had a tiring journey through Oklahoma very windy.Little Cakees is bringing out a calendar now and she had a bad hairday.Kimberly’s arthritis was playing up because of the drop in the temps but Fubu is well.I found a cat with several names Roo Ripley etc.He has cancer now and it’s spreading but he’s having treatment and tolerating it well.He is hoping it might give him a year or 2 extra.Sarah posted some great pics of the Fly.Loki threw up a giant furball not a good idea when you’ve just taken your meds!Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.XOXO

Spitfires and hurricanes took to the skies over Southern England just as they did 75yrs ago.Prince Harry (who turns 31 today)gave up his seat for a veteran.Earlier a service took place at St Paul’s Cathedral attended by Prime Minister David Cameron and the new Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. We will always remember them.Sheena

Dear Sheena,
It’s raining this morning! Kathy XOXO

Seeing the beautiful War Front filly really brought to mind Z Princess. Like everyone I grieve for what might have been. She was the most extraordinary baby. Hard to believe Breeders Cup is just around the corner.

Dear Deb E:
Thank you for these. Wow, ZI is filling out nicely. The photo of both of them walking is a hoot. ZI has to understand that Big Brother goes first. ZI looks like he’s saying “Why can’t I lead the parade”. Too cute!. Love and Hugs, JB

DebE,
Love the look in Zi’s eyes as he is walking behind his brother. That guy is so expressive and I believe has his share of the imp of mischief. Looks like he wants to get into trouble.
Deb E.
He looks like he wants to take a chunk out of Coz’s rump!

Great photos.
Thanks, Deb E.
Those two are something else.

Deb E.
Len decided that flying between the U.K. and the U.S. for both dancing shows was too much and said he was staying with his first love, the U.K. show. So congratulations! You got Len, and we get rotating guest judges.
Faithful Zenyatta Supporter
To me, same comparison as with Zenyatta. Beholder has spent her life whipping other fillies, and no more to prove. Yea! Her odds in BC are 5/1, and AP 3/2. The rest of the field, well, pathetic. Hope Bindi wins DWTS too.
SallyB.(AuntiecherishesZandheryoung)
Victor was cute on dancing with the stars. His smile is worth a million!
Dear Zenyatta, thinking of you always
