Saw the video of Texas Red. Kent mostly hand rode him. Only hit him 3 or 4 times that I could see. Think TR had plenty left in the tank and Kent knew he had it without any more urging.
Texas Red was great in that race. Very nice looking horse too. He may really come into his own later this fall.
As for the trophy to the horse with the most interesting coat, Frosted gets that one.
It was a really great race seeing Frosted and TR neck and neck near the finish line. Congrats to both of them! So good to see TR has made such a super recovery – hope we’ll be seeing lots more of him!
Dear Max. Beastie ran very well! Yes I had heard Oxford University have been tracking the lions for years. It was in the mail online I saw the report about Jericho then began following Cecil’s FB’s and the news came out Jericho has been with a female all day and was well at about 8.30pm.Brent will be going out in the morning to find him.I can never imagine Walter Palmer getting extradited because of your poor relations with Zimbabwe. He was bragging to a young waitress when he returned home about a lion he had killed and had even asked the professionals to find him a large elephant before he left Africa!Sheena.
I first heard about these two lions several months ago from a friend of mine who was also following them. He was fascinated by the cooperation between the two lions. There is some speculation by experts that Jericho is the father of some of the lion cubs which may account for their survival. My friend went on vacation last week so that I have not had a chance to hear what he has to say. He’ll no doubt be very upset as he is a lover of all animals even mice. Apparently, donations to the Oxford project have spiked considerably since the news of Cecil’s death. Hopefully some good will come of this really terrible loss. He was an exceptionally good looking lion. Taking out the best lions like Cecil weakens the gene pool of an endangered species. The trophy hunt for animals should be stopped everywhere and that will only happen if all governments pass strict laws against it.
Dear Judy.Sad to hear about Big D’s colt.We lost Loving Spirit yesterday at Goodwood collapsed and died of a heart attack. He was by Azamour and I think Montjeu was the damsire. On a lighter note Frankie had a wonderful Goodwood top jockey with 6 winners.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Sheena. The Oxford research people are sending out someone to look to see how Jericho is doing in the park. They also said that he is not a blood brother to Cecil. They however may be brothers in spirit as they had a coalition to protect the pride.
Zenyatta looks like she could almost step out on a race track again, but she looks oh so good just being a pampered horse waiting for her next little one. She is pure contentment.
Dear Sheena,
Got a new phone and have not gotten a chance to get e-mail setup so behind on replies
and keeping up with the blog and other sites. Saw the fledging, amazing all three in one day, poor Glesni too much for her and she missed the first one and thought she was an intruder. So sad she is going to leave soon. Frankie got a whip violation just to try and win. Sad Ryan is out for so long being at the top of his game. Such lovely photos of Zenyatta getting her bath. Hope you are enjoying your Goldilocks weather,
Love and hugs
Dear Tizgood. So glad to hear all is well with you.Yes,it’s been busy at the Dyfi.Glesni will leave soon.We haven’t had much goldilocks weather lately feels autumnal some days but is warmer today.I even suggested to Karen that she put a duvet out for Hovis!!Love and hugs Sheena.
Knowledge is evidence of the past-but wisdom is using it to see the future.
Knowing what to put in your bouquet of life takes wisdom. Drugs and alcohol and unrestrained behavior are the poison ivy among a field of life-giving herbs and beautiful flowers. These things are known to be toxic and death-but someone who had worldly knowledge knew they made a person have hallucinations. This need to look into hell is like calling home for comfort-it’s not going to happen.
Say it: “I am a person with the power to draw on unlimited wisdom-and I do it now by turning away from the dancing images of total foolishness and destruction.”
If the child cries for mercy, that child must have mercy.

Hopefully the day is going well for you. All the FB furbabies I visited are doing well. Have a blessed Sabbath and enjoy what remains of the weekend. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Breaking news over here the death has been announced of singer/entertainer Cilla Black.Aged 72 she died from natural causes at her holiday home in Marbella overnight.Very well-known in the 60’s as a singer and close friend of the Beatles she turned to TV with shows such as ‘Blind Date’ and ‘Surprise Surprise’.She will be sorely missed but is with her beloved Bobby now.RIP Cilla.SheenaX
Cilla and the Beatles were fellow performers coming up together at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. In fact, I believe she started out as the Cavern’s ticket taker and sang on stage during her breaks. Eventually, both she and the Fabs were mentored and managed by Brian Epstein. I expect both Paul and Ringo will release statements on the passing of yet another of their friends to leave the world too soon. Rest in peace, Cilla Black. Thank you for the music.
Dear Kathy.A blessed Sabbath to you too.A great devotional.Shocked to hear of our Cilla’s passing.I don’t think she ever got over losing her Bobby.Jericho has been found safe and well according to Brent’s FB.He and Cecil formed an extraordinary bond after Jericho’s blood brothers were killed by poachers(who’d have guessed??)They say Jericho goes around the park at night mourning Cecil.Who knows maybe his death will not have been in vain.Hope you are nowhere near the wildfires very sad about the firefighter who died.Have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.PS Dolly isn’t too well and the power is off 9hrs every day.
RIP Cilla. Glad to hear Jericho is okay. So sad for him in the loss of Cecil. I pray his death will bring about some long overdue changes. I’m a long way from the fires. Yes, it’s always so tragic when a firefighter dies. Have a wonderful day. XOXO Kathy
Zenny, as fun and as playful as you are, you can look so regal and stately when you are just having a bath. You are still so magnificent that it’s fabulous. Zenyatta la Magnifica!!!
Excellent news. This little girl is a beauty, and she did it without being raised by her champion mother. Pretty awesome. Congrats to Rachel and Bernie.

The first three are of Hudson Township (being ridden by her current owner Deb) and Judy. Then there are two of Angela’s farm where Papa Charlie lives and a couple of the famous FRANK, the emu!. Then some of Angela, Papa Charlie, and Judy, and then Judy and Lola Mae. Hope that you will enjoy the pictures – wish you all could have been there too :-)
