I understand LauraJ’s concerns about horse twins, but these two and their Mom overcame the odds, and they are absolutely adorable. Do we know if they were able to grow up without incident?
Here are photos of the two of them all grown up. The Bay is named Royal Scandal and the Chestnut, Royal Encore. You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and they’re photos are on the right side.
Apparently, they were a complete surprise to the people at Marabet Farm where they were born. They had no clue Royal Fairy Tale was carrying twins. Love and Hugs, JB
Remembering beautiful Champion Concern. He’s passed on at the age of 25. Included in this article is his fabulous last to first Z style win in the 1994 BCC and Tom Durkin’s wonderful call of the race. RIP Champ. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Judy B.,
Thank you for the notice about Concern. What a champion competitor he was!
That was some incredible Breeders’ Cup Classic win.
RIP Concern, brilliant boy
Hovis has had a couple of visits from CNSM while mother is “working” in Jockland!!!There is talk of a calendar!Hovis is not keen on the idea!Safe trips to all horses and jockeys this weekend especially in Dubai.Hugs Sheena. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/blog/hovis-friday-i
Thank you for our Hovis update. A Hovis Naked calendar!!! Yes! I would definitely buy that! I know Hovis doesn’t want to think about doing that, but surely Mum has 12 good pics of him lying around so it would be no muss and no fuss for Hovis. Happy weekend everyone. Safe trip for all the horses and jockeys. Go California Chrome!
Dear Sheena,
Thanks for the Hovis update! His little retort to not picking up his feet (“Have you seen the size of my feet?”) just cracked me up — I am still giggling. :-)
Hugs and Love
Things have been shaky before, and some things broke down-but with courage we made it. We made it because we decided to stand up and not let anything whip us.
The best revenge against anything that would tear us apart is to not let it happen. We simply have to see things for what they really are. It will pass. And if we do not grieve and blame ourselves we will overcome every memory, every wound, and flow in strength and security. Just a little courage-and a big decision to use it.

OK – here is another bit of discussion fodder re our ongoing “Buy Back” saga. I quote from the March 21st issue of BloodHorse re American Pharoah:
“Zayat Stables bred American Pharoah in Kentucky, but bought him back for $300,000 after entering him in the 2013 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale.”
Please, SOMEBODY out there must understand how this works. You own the horse, you enter him in a sale, you have to “buy” him if he doesn’t sell at the reserve price???
Dear Kathy.Thank you for my beautiful morning flowers!Poor Hovis thinks we are all lunatics on his FB!A lot of them do know Herman the German and he’s in hiding! He must have had a great week with mum away!!It will be the morning when you get to see the Dubai World cup 5pm over here. The Sheema Classic is on at 4.15pm!I hope CC runs well and for Peggy African Story!!!
There should be some more ospreys arriving this weekend very bad weather in Spain holding them up I think it was march 31st Blue 24 arrived last year.Come on Glesni!

You’re welcome! Hovis has boosted Herman to stardom. Glad for Hovis that he gets a little rest with Mum away. Looking forward to the World Cup. Not much longer now. Go Chromie! Go Peggy African Story! Safe trip for all. Looking forward to the arrival of all the ospreys. Joey’s resting place looks very beautiful and peaceful. Glad to hear Theba goes out there to remember that beautiful boy. I hope they get another Garden Cat at some point. They really need one! The ratties are doing great. So entertaining! I hope Kimberly has a good doctor’s appointment. It would be good if Fubu could gain a little weight back again. Poor fellow. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the weekend ahead. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Kate has kept a very busy schedule. I’ll bet she will be glad to be able to just let down until the arrival. Lucky for her that she can at least get help! Hugs, Kathy.
Buy back means that the seller (owner) has to pay the associated costs of the horse not selling. Auction companies always charge fees for putting a horse into their auctions. The buy back is usually a percentage of the reserve price, depends on the contract.
First of all . . . . Where was this info the LAST time we had this discussion???? I guess I can understand having to pay some fees, but . . . . $300,000 seems like one heck of a fee!
Thank You Mayberry for these gorgeous pictures of Ziconic.
He is absolutely beautiful. What a lovely chestnut color and with a sparkling white blaze.
I hope he is doing well with his lessons and is a happy colt. He looks very intelligent and quite happy to have Daisy as his buddy.
