My Night Prowler with Javier Costellano on board run on this Saturday. Wouldn’t you know it right side of Uncle Johnny and Dubai Sky I believe. It’s the Palm Beach Stakes at Gulf Stream race 11, 530
Max sure hope your right about Javier. Sure hope he takes care of my boy. Uncle johnny is one of my favorite jockeys too. But, now when he’s riding against NP, well what can I say, sorry Johnny. Go Night Prowler, God Speed to all.
Javier was the number 1 winning jockey in the US last year. He just passed his 4000th win in February. He’s not riding The Beast this weekend. NR will be well cared for by Javier.
Peggy,
That dratted Johnny V has beaten my favorites so many times, I can’t count them all. At least he is a quality person as well as rider. Eases the pain somewhat. Safe trip to My Night Prowler.
Have a lovely night, everyone!
I will sleep much better tonight — my electricity went off at 2:10 this morning. The heavy snowfall we got last night and this morning was very wet and stuck to all trees and shrubbery. The pines lost a lot of branches which caused the power to go out. The other side of the street didn’t lose power; this is typical for those of us on my side. We are always last to have power restored, too. I guess you could say we are in a donut hole because all around us have lights. This frustrating situation affects about 124 homes so we are not high priority usually. Duke Energy called with updates to say that we would have power restored by 9 PM, Friday the 27th! Surprisingly, about 7:30 tonight, the electricity came back on! YAY!!!!! My gas logs kept us really toasty, thankfully, but it sure is wonderful to have the lights and heat back to normal.
Sweet dreams to all!
Hugs and Love
So glad your heat and electricity are back up and running. Hope we’ve seen the last of the big snow storms. Love and Hugs to you, Bailey and Huey from me and Lola Mae.
Dear Marshall and pups,
Glad your power was restored. Some of my friends are still without.
Am in MD hunting down, I’myoursugardaddy but have been keeping my Carolina buddies in my thoughts. Love and hugs.
Dear Judy B., Peggy (N), Elizabeth in NM, and Ann NC,
Thanks for your responses! The power outage sure ruined my plans for the snow-day. Was planning to make a pot of soup, watch some TV, check this Blog, and walk with the pups in the snow. Bailey was ecstatic over the white stuff! Running in big circles, sniffing in the snow, exploring the fallen branches, leaping around and then running in circles again. Huey thinks she is nuts, but he enjoyed the snow, too.
Ann, good luck in the I’myoursugardaddy hunt! Sounds like a fun thing. Happy hunting!

The last words from Dan in January were these: “I don’t always stand out in a field, but when I do, I wear blue.” He was sporting a marine blue blanket at the time. The Danimal does not usually race before April at the earliest. It’s also been pretty cold in Kentucky. Uncle Johnny will have to take his chances. As to all others, kick butt Danny.

Winter storms affect things of nature the same way human storms affect us. Differences are forgotten when the problem is a common one.
Meadowlarks and doves that usually keep to the open fields come down to feed with cardinal and titmouse. Finches and bluejays, though very different in size and temperament, feed together peaceably. The food is there in one spot and there is little dissension about who sits at the table.
If they serve no other purpose, strenuous times are great equalizers. They put people on a common basis with a common issue-to make it through. Where people survive together there is a bond of understanding. They learn to support and to look out for each other.
In my youthful days, I have seen large herds of buffalo…and elk in every grove, but they are here no more…all having gone toward the setting sun.

He and my Night Prowler remind me of each other.
We can’t always gear our lives to the desires of others. And that doesn’t mean we should be difficult or hard to get along with. It does mean there is a time to make it easy on ourselves.
Take a few steps. When life crowds in, it is time to quit giving the impression of being superhuman. Going the extra mile has always been important, but we have days when someone else needs to go that extra mile and give us relief.
It is somewhat like breathing-there’s a time to inhale and a time to exhale.

You hear of us as murderers and thieves. We are not so. If we had more lands to give you, we would give them, but we have no more.

Dear Sheena,
I get to work today! YAY! Good news from Zoe’s page. Mommy got to come home already! It’s always much more preferable to be at home. I know Zoe is taking good care of her. Praying Diane feels better each passing day. Seems the ratties are baking cookies. Looking forward to seeing the new permanent family members! All is well with all the other FB furbabies I’ve checked on so far. Have a wonderful weekend. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
