Very nice win. Owned by the Canadian diamond guy and trained by Roger Attfield who trained Musketeer. I see that DD is on the Derby trail. Because he’s Ontario bred, he can also run in the Canadian Triple crown if the US route doesn’t work out.
Dear Judy.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Boo and all the Sweeties.New pics of Hovis up on his FB the bandages are gone!Love and hugs SheenaX
Hope your doing ok still in this bad weather. The pollen has really started early here and my eyes and throat are really taking a beating.
So glad my boy Ring Weekend didn’t race today. Always depend on Graham Motion to do best for the horse.
Yes, hoping GS finds a good race for RW soon with hopefully a better post position. Feel better soon.
Just watched Main Sequence and Danish Dynaformer’s replays. Wow, MS really turned on the jets at the finish and DD was really impressive in his determination to win. Big D genes. Love and Hugs, JB
Dear Zenyatta,
What a lovely Snow Queen you are! You are our beautiful girl for all seasons, every year forever and ever.
Thanks to Alys and LEF and Team Z for these lovely pictures.
Hugs and Love
Judy, also forgot to tell you. Believe Night Prowler will be in a race soon from Gulfstream. He’s had a number of works so look to see them pick a race for him soon.
You ladies stay nice and warm and snug this next week. The news is unbelievable to some of us in So. Cal that have never really been in a cold winter.
Thank you for the photos of Zenyatta and her paddock mates. Zenyatta will always be forever in our hearts and minds. It would be fun to know who you hang out with in the paddock. Love your fuzzy winter coats.
What beautiful photos of our magnificent Queen. She doesn’t seem to mind the snow and cold. I wish I could say the same! It’s been so cold and miserable here this week. It warms my heart seeing our gorgeous girl.
Eager expectation is the activity of the spirit; it doesn’t come from some outer excitement. Enjoy friends and don’t criticize-however much the need seems to arise.
Spend time with friends and family but save some time to be alone. Peace and hope come to those who wait for them-and joy overtakes the grateful one. Even to withdraw for ten minutes breaks into the emotions to smooth away sharpness.
Be a good friend to yourself and the sweetness of it will draw others like nectar lures the honey-bee. Open your spiritual eyes and see that you are never alone.
Do not take up the warpath without a just cause and honest purpose.

Many blessings to everyone today – especially in snow country. We’re up for rain today and for a few days – which we always need. Zenny love you in this photo. Hope everyone here in your fan family stays warm and healthy. Love all the posts – with love, Elizabeth
Dear Kathy.I have been reading Alastair’s marvellous piece about John Thomas and when you think this man was an amateur!May God bless him and his lovely family.
Poor Hovis fancy Karen saying she’d only get 50p for him!At least the bandages are gone. The word “bath” was mentioned and we all know what that entails!I hadn’t seen at the bottom of the puppy article he already has a new home with the service manager. His terrier Belle has fallen in love with him and acts as his guide! A wonderful ending.I think he will be named Louie(because he was found in a loo)!!They are raising money now to see if his sight can be restored.
Jack O is loving the fresh snow in MA!If only we all behaved like animals the world would be a happy place.I found Beau and he was doing his happy dance!
Loki had a fright this morning his mama dropped a spoon and he scuttled off to the bedroom they have such acute hearing he’s calmer now.Everyone is missing Fubu and
Kimberly!Judy was celebrating her birthday yesterday so Mango was taking care of the sissy’s!It was great to see SDG back at his best yesterday now for the festival!Have a blessed Sabbath.Love and hugs Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.Sheena.
Will look for the John Thomas piece. I’m sure Karen was joking around with Hovis. He would bring a lot more than 50p. After all, he is an undiscovered superstar. So relieved to hear that darling little dog has a home, Prayers he regains his sight. It’s a blessing that Jack O loves the snow. He would really be out of luck if he didn’t! Absolutely true that the world would be a much better place if we behaved like the animals! I think Beau is incredibly cute. There’s just something about a pomeranian! He sure was cute doing his happy dance. Kimberly must be in awful shape. Just praying Fubu is still doing okay. I’m sure sissy is in good hands (paws) with Mango. Fingers crossed for SDG. You have a blessed Sabbath, too. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy.
Wolf whistles…you look regal, healthy, and happy!!!! Thank you Alys, Mr. & Mrs Moss, Team Zenyatta, and Team Lane’s End for all you do to keep us well-informed about Our Queen. The other 2 mares look like twin ladies in waiting. Dearest Z, hope you enjoy days with your hooves and mouth in the snow and sun on your withers.
As we wait for news of Zenyatta and War Front, here is the story of a great broodmare who is the mother of my favorite horse, Hastings, grand daddy to Man o’ War. Tiznow is a direct descendent in the sire line of MOW. They are a feisty bunch.
Thanks, Max!
Very interesting article — what an amazing “Cinderella story”! So glad that Dr. Neet decided to keep her as a broodmare. No one could ask for better results!

Dear Zenny,
Sometimes I get caught up in reading the comments and forget that I didn’t post anything myself about how absolutely beautiful you look out there in winter wonderland! How nice of Alys to brave the elements to capture these pictures for us. I know that spring will come sooner for you than for me – I’m sure you’re looking forward to the return of the beautiful green fields there at Lane’s End. Many thanks to everyone who keep us in touch and provide such moments of joy when we realize that new pictures are “up.” Don’t get too cold out there!
Love from your Ohio friend, Sandy
Well I really tanked in the first edition of the Derby Dollars contest – how did my fellow ‘cappers do? Thought Bluegrass Singer would do better on a faster track in the FOY, and he DID for almost the entire race (“almost” being the operative term here). Went with Mikey and Imperia in the Risen Star. RATS! I’ve been trying to encourage a friend who will probably be going to the BC with me to learn more about the horses so I got her to sign up too. She picked International Star and is thrilled beyond words. I’m trying to be thrilled too :-)
Hi Sandy, I picked Upstart and he won, but was disqualified down to second. I chose International Star and haven’t seen any points from that race. I thought it showed that I successfully placed my bet, but probably didn’t somehow. The name Marty R was already taken so I am Marty Rich in this contest. Looks like we get a week off until the next time.
Sound like you’re our big winner this week. Did you get an email confirming your bets??? I think they are still getting organized a bit.
Marty R / Colorado
Hi Sandy, I did get the email about my bets. I also went back to the contest page and after you sign in, there is a section in approx the middle of the right side that says My History and My Profile. When I clicked on the history, it showed points for both races. However, at the bottom of the either “leaderboard” or “dashboard” ( don’t remember the correct name) the bottom line shows your standing and points and that place only shows the points for me from the first race. I’ll go with they are still getting organized. I do like the past performances provided for this contest the best of all the three contests I’ve participated in.
