Congratulations to Frankel’s boy Cracksman as he wins the Prix Niel with ease. Now for the Arc.He has taken awhile to get into his stride I felt it was a mistake to run him in our Derby.I may be wrong but it’s Frankel the sire’s 3rd stakes in as many days.
Thanks, Sheena, for these posts. Big congratulations to Caravaggio and connections, too!

Normal service resumed today as Order of St George wins the Irish St Leger easily.Either the Arc or Melbourne cup for him.It seems unlikely Cracksman will run in the Arc this year his owner wants to keep him in training next year and Frankie is booked for Enable John Gosden will make the final decision a few days ahead of the race.He is in Keeneland for the sales
Oppenheimer is right to call it on the Arc. The horse can try next year with more experience. The Japanese have targeted that race forever. They’ve got a good candidate this year. We’ll see.
Yes very decision by Oppenheimer becauseI don’t believe Cracksman has a chance of winning this year.He has improved immensely and I will enjoy seeing him race at 4.Roger Charlton is thinking of sending Decorated Knight out to the US for his final start in the Breeders cup.
Max
Oppenheimer also said that Dettori is the only one to ride Cracksman, and he’s already committed to another horse in the Arc. That race is always difficult to predict and produces many surprises. The Japanese horse, Santo Diamond, was 4th in the Prix Foy today, his first time on French turf. He’s an impressive beast. Anything can happen in the Arc.
Also sorry to see The Queen’s horse, Dartmouth, do poorly today in the Irish St. Leger. Wicklow Brave got a 4th, without Dettori, who is still magic with that or any horse.
We just got a Hurricaine warning for our county so just wanted to stop by while I can. I have been worrying so hard for the people and horses . I just got a jar about my faith. Pray so hard all will be OK. Our paster this morning wanted to remind us about Mark Chapter 4, The disciples were on a ship with jesus. Verse 37, And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat unto the ship so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow and they awake him.and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we drown? 39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said unto the wind, Peace, Be Still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm, 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? 41 And, they feared exceedingly and said one to another. What manner of a man is this, that even the wind and sea obey him.
It is said also that John Wesley was once on a ship in a storm and he was Lyeing down below on the ship and heard a bunch of people above praying and singing praises to the lord. He went up and asked them how could they be singing It took him aback and realized its about “Faith” For me it is also about Faith.
Our pastor also asked us to help others. There are crowds of people just parked and resting from Fla out on our exit of 75. I though what can I do. I went out there and just so many people. I went thru this gas station that has gas and I saw this little SUV full of people and a big Dog sitting in the middle of the front seat. There was this I believe Japanese man that got out of the drivers side. I asked him if they were traveling from Florida he said what I thought was yes (Fla tag on car) He I don’t guess spoke English. I gave him a $20.00 Bill and the biggest smile came on his face he said something to me don’t know what it was but it sure put a huge smile on my face as well. Its all about Love and Faith. Bummers, I should have asked him if he knew Orfevre.
One more thing, Our minister of Music, Trey left out of our service abrumptly this morning. He came back before service was over. His mother had called him. His cousin was leaving trying to get out of Tampa this morning . He got in a car accident and was killed. God Bless him
Take Care everyone, Love You all.
Stay safe, Peggy. Atlanta is under storm warning. Very worried about you and others in the path of this hurricane. I posted a story a few days ago about the Arc and the Japanese contender. There’s something about Or in that article. Take care.
.Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Peggy. So sad to hear about the car accident and death.Sometimes these disasters bring out the best in us.Stay safe and sound.God bless Love and hugs.
Peggy, I am praying for you and all humans and animals in the path of this storm. Dear Jesus, please say again, “wind and rain, be still”. Love and hugz, Darlene
Thinking about you and hoping you stay safe. Thoughts and prayers for all in harm’s way and on the fringes of the storm, too. ?
I do hope you can stay in touch, also.
Stay safe, Peggy.
What a very kind gesture. Many along our I95 were taken in as they opened shelters here.
Seeing many Fla plates on cars, airport is very busy, folks opening up their homes.
Praying for all.
Dear Max.The Arc has never been one of my favourite races.I didn’t know about Dartmouth.Maybe not his day.Jess Samy who runs the Frankel’s groups hopes Santo Diamond will win the Arc with Cracksman out.A couple of my FB friends got to visit the Fly today. He enjoyed his trip to the Curragh. All the living legends look fabulous.
I’m also no fan of the Arc. Remember what it did to Nijinsky? I misspelled the name of the Japanese horse. He’s Satono Diamond. There’s another Japanese horse from the same stable who is also racing in France. I think that he’s called Satono Noblesse. They are both by Deep Impact. Their trainer says that SD is easier to handle than Orfevre. He’s also a good looking horse.
My dad never got over Nijinsky’s loss in the Arc.I hear Miss Temple City is being offered at the Fasig Tipton sales in November as a racing/ Broodmare.I never realised she was a granddaughter of the Big D.I hope Enable can cope in Chantilly it can a rough race at times.

News from Florida. This is great, and the tactic actually works well. I once brought a horse into my mother’s kitchen. The horse was fine with it. My mother was a little upset, but she did not show it until the horse left.
I remember you telling me that story about the horse in your kitchen and your mum’s reaction.Good to hear they helped their 4 legged friends by allowing them indoors.

Dear Judy.Have you heard from Ingrid? No signs of her on twitter today.Lots of news over here about the storm millions without power.
On a lighter note 30(05) arrived at her wintering grounds on Friday about 4pm.She rested on the Mauritania/Senegal border after covering the Sahara. Now it’s sun sand and a never ending supply of fish! She took 12days hopefully Maya who left the same morning is home too.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley Willow and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaXSad night in ‘Victoria’ both Dash the dog and Lord M died.

The mare in the first photo behind the three fillies doesn’t look like Zenyatta to me. The mare in the photo has a white marking on her left rear that doesn’t reach her ankle and the white marking on her right rear just covers her ankle. Zenyatta’s markings on her rear legs reach well above her ankles. But you can be sure the Queen is not far from her princess.

Dear Max,
Thanks for your concern. We are in the clear, so to speak, since we are more centrally located — the western counties (southwest mountains) received some damage and power outages from Irma’s outer edge. We got some rain starting last night and continuing today, but nothing heavy or serious. Very fortunate for most of the state.
Thoughts and prayers for all those who experienced damage and loss from this storm.

Hope the Mayberrys in Ocala & the horses there are ok.
Very thankful that I heard from my best friend in Crystal River that she, her family & their four horses are ok as well. They had only relatively minor damage like fences down, but will have no power for about a week. They live about 1-1/2 hrs. north of Tampa.
We are supposed to get rain from the remnants of Irma here in upstate NY late Thurs. into Fri. Thank God it will have lost its punch by then unlike Irene did several years ago.
I’m praying for everyone affected by Harvey & Irene. Their lives will never be the same again and I hope that they get whatever they need to recover from these horrible storms.
Very sad to hear many pets were tied to posts and trees and left to fend for themselves during the hurricane.50 dogs and 2 cats have been rescued. The owners had enough warning but that is typical of the selfish society we inhabit these days.
