    Talk about history, just read the great tributes to Skip Away and our beloved Wise Dan that you posted. Thank-you,they are wonderful!
    So heartwarming to read about the love story with these horses and their owners as well as revisit their accomplishments. Loved to see Wise Dan race again, truly a legend.

    Glad the Stronach Group are taking a stand,this cannot be tolerated and needs to be addressed for the protection of the horses we love.
    Prayers for the horses,hope they will be kept under watchful eyes by rescue groups in the area.

    September 21 Cherokee Devotional

    Darkness to a person in trouble holds only fear. The long night seems endless, but a bit of wisdom tells us that it is always darkest just before dawn. If that is true, and I think it is, the darkest hour means hope and a better time lie just ahead, With the passage of a little time, the light will edge in and fear will go.
    When you face darkness, be strong and be of good courage-you are not alone. Spirit stands with you in the darkness and can transform you through the darkness. Many have experienced the way of dankness and have emerged far better persons, far stronger individuals. Darkness itself does not make anyone stronger. What makes you stronger is the shining of light on the spirit even when it senses only darkness. Trust that the light can overcome the darkness, and bring life and beauty to you.

    Each step should be as a prayer.

    Aidan O’Brien has paid tribute to the Gurkha after connections confirmed he is to be retired.He had surgery for a displaced colon after his exciting Sussex Stakes win.He has recovered well and will join his father at the Coolmore stud next year.Sheena

    Just catching up on the posts I’ve missed. I read the heartbreaking story of Chasing Aces. I cannot believe that there was 21 breakdowns at Del Mar this season. If you read the website Horse Racing Wrongs, wow it is a real eye opener.

    So sad. RIP Chasing Aces.

    How often it has been said that we cannot make it in this world without the proper background-often meaning that social standing makes or breaks the ambitious person. But only one background has been proven to be important: Were we kind? Were we thoughtful? Were we respectful?
    Stop and think. If we respect ourselves, we have the proper background. If we respect others, it will show in what we say and do, and ultimately it will determine where we will succeed or fail. Good hearts-the best “background” anyone can have-never trample, never goad, never cause another person to fall. When we lift, we are lifted; when we respect, we are respected; and when we love, love abounds. What could be more important than that?

    Very autumnal here today I had to wear a jacket for the 1st time in ages(except wet daysI found a new FB page last by visiting one of the first stranger I befriended on FB.She is a writer and is friendly with the Skipton Poets Guild such beautiful pics and verses.Have you seen the ratties new friends from Connecticut George and Shy boy they hope to graduate from Marty’s school of bizness but they are having difficulty wiv the stapler.Dolly looked remarkably pretty God knows how they cope in that country!Mango is still camping but looked very tired.Charlotte is enjoying herself in New York and Carl said Valegro will love shopping!!He says his last appearance at Olympia will be very emotional and to bring lots of tissues.Some stupid scientist said that all cats should be kept either indoors or on a leash.Does’nt he remember a pope in the middle ages Gregory I think ordered the destruction of cats and it resulted in the black death.Cats are free spirits that’s why I adore them.How is Ray doing?I pray he is improving slowly.The Jolie/Pitts are at war now no amicable divorce there.Neighbours had got fed up with their raucous parties and screaming children.Hope you have a great day.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO

    Yes, very sad what’s going on in NC. I look forward to being able to wear a jacket. It’s supposed to be very hot over the weekend here. I’ll look up Skipton Poets Guild. I got the e-mail from Marty. We all have to watch out for those staplers. So loud! We must practice. Haven’t visited Dolly yet. Will do so. I would imagine traveling is very tiring for little Mango. They need to stay at home for a while. Glad NY is to Charlotte’s and Valegro’s liking! You know the performance in Olympia will be a tear-jerker! Very foolish comment from that scientist! Yes, cats are free spirits, indeed! Haven’t heard from Cheryl and Ray in a few days. His strength is returning slowly. I’ll be sure to let you know when I hear anything.     Going to Kentucky this weekend for my mother’s 100th birthday party. Will try to get to the track while I am there. Just hope the old back holds out for the drive down and back and some time at the track. Lots of family will be there for her party. Just wish she was as good mentally as she is physically.

    On this day in 1996 Frankie Dettori went through the at card Ascot winning a magnificent 7.He later found out Fujiyama Crest(his 7th winner)was up for sale and he spent the rest of his days with Frankie and his family before dying last year at the age of 23.

    Godolphin have bought the Roger Charlton trained Frankel colt Atty Persse.

    Dear Judy:Paul the wildlifewriter(all one word)put in a brilliant post on FB tonight about Monty and Glesni refusing to move to C4 for the great osprey take off.The DOP had been bought for 25.4 million Welsh pounds but Glesni told reporters even 25 million squid wouldn’t get her to leave that there was more to life than fish but couldn’t really remember what The only celebrity on the move was Paul Dormouse but as he sleeps 96% of the time….C4 are desperately looking for replacements!!As I told you in the email Mary Berry is not moving to C4.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

    My dearest Zenny,

    I have so much to be grateful for. I am blessed with health, happiness, a wonderful family and many dear friends. A lot of these wonderful friendships I made through you and because of you Zenny. Zenny I am so grateful for you and Team Z for continuing to share you with us. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. Turning 60 has not been nearly as traumatic as I thought it would be, lol.
