Dear Kathy.I think we all panic at I know I have.Troubling times in the US with the explosions and stabbings. There will be a lot of security in NYC this week with dignitaries visiting the UN Mother Theresa included. She had spent the weekend at Balmoral. The Express had the story about Princess Eugenie again no idea whether it’s true or not.Princess Anne is carrying out a few engagements this week she looks very pale.Gorgeous photos of boo and family the little girl is growing they were visiting Orange County isn’t that near you?Mango is busy camping again in Arizona some lovely photos. It will be a year tomorrow since they lost Katybug where does time go?Wimbley is looking brighter but I am concerned we don’t see his little legs.I do hope he can recover. How is Ray?He must be glad to be home. The Dyfi calenders wil be out mid October they heard about the egg it was fertilised but stopped developing. Now that surprises me as it did start to crack I have messaged them but no reply yet.Tests will carry on at Aberystwyth university.Gladstone the treasury cat is a cold brutal killer unlike Larry who tend to be a bit lazy.Gladstone was reminding Call me Dave he would have to wait 5months before applying for unemployment benefits because he quit his job!He also had a nap during a discussion about Brexit who can blame him??Did you see about Zoe’s friend Chipper running for President?Zoe is in her cabinet. These animals would do a far better job than the humans running. The jumps trainers are getting prepared for the new season despite the return of Faugheen Annie will defend her crown next march.Gorgeous pic of Sprinter at Nicky’s yard yesterday but he will have to face Douvan this year although Mullins is toying with the idea of 3 miles for him.Exciting times ahead.Remember to turtle back to work for you.Love and hugs to you.Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Yes, the explosions are very troubling. We will all be interested if Princess Eugenie’s engagement is back on. Princess Anne needs to be very careful not to overdo those engagements after being so ill. That was a beautiful photo of Boo and family, indeed. Orange County borders my county, Riverside. It doesn’t take long at all to go there. Mango seems to be on one long vacation most of the time. I guess Mom and Nay are independently wealthy? Doesn’t seem possible that Katybug has been gone for one year. Think about it…my precious Holly has been gone for 6 months at the end of this month. That seems unbelievable to me. I miss her so much, Sheena. Holding out hope that Wimbley will be okay. Ray is doing quite well. His appetite is returning. He still needs the walker due to weakness. He’s overjoyed to be home. I wonder if you’ll hear back from the Dyfi about that egg. Beware everyone and everything if you have to deal with Gladstone! Poor Call me Dave. I hope he has some savings to fall back on! He was probably wise to nap during the Brexit discussion! I did see that Zoe’s friend is running for president and Zoe has been asked to be the Secretary of the Treasury. I don’t think the dogs have jumped into this race soon enough. The rats have the definite advantage! Lots of excitement ahead with the new jumps season. I will look for the pic of Sprinter. Best wishes to all participants. May they all stay safe! I’ll have to turtle as much as possible today. Hope I can remember how to do my job! Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Well, it is Monday afternoon, and my post of Friday evening is still awaiting moderation.
Can anyone please explain?
I didn’t think there was anything objectionable in it. Maybe the moderators have overlooked it or perhaps it takes much longer than I thought.
No matter, this is a great blog, and Team Z does an awesome job. Thank you for this super-generous gift! You are all quite simply The Best!!
Dear Marshall.Don’t worry about your post.I’ve had one in moderation for ages in fact I have forgotten what my message was about!Hope all is well with Judy missed her last night.Love and hugs Sheena
Marshall,
That happened to me one time. Nothing in the post that anyone could object to. Guess they just get busy. Like you, I am so thankful for the blog and all the pictures and info about Zenyatta.
Thanks for the responses. I was just wondering what happened and figured that it was a random thing. I feel better about it now even though I didn’t really take it personally. This is the best site ever!
BGG,
Thanks for the post. He is such a handsome boy. Wish he could get his act together. It is a bit ironic that the 2 most famous mares, Zenyatta and Rachel, each have 2 offspring and other than RV in her 2 year old season they have not been on the track very much. Now RV is retired and who knows what is happening with Jess’s Dream. He does have a work every now and then. Thank goodness that they have owners who love them and will care for them forever.
Thanks for sharing this with us Blue. Zi is breathtakingly gorgeous.
Shirlee, yes it is ironic that these two outstanding racers have not been replicated in their babies so far. But, it’s something that happens more often than not. I’m still hoping that the Princes and Jess’ Dream will stay sound and have opportunities to race. I too am grateful that they have owners that will care for them forever. Love and Hugs, JB
shirleeinindy
Judy,
Hope you are well. It is still very possible that Zenyatta will produce a race horse yet. With Rachel, it won’t happen. I don’t think Barbara would ever risk Rachel again and that is fine with me. Sad, but as you said, very often the great mares are not able to replicate their talent in their offsprings. I just concentrate on how fortunate I am to have Zenyatta, Rachel and Songbird to love and adore. Do wish I did not get nervous hives every time Songbird and Mike hit the track. Safe trip to her Saturday.
PS. Since Muchie has retired Fed Ex is not making emergency Tums shipments to my house!
Max
An exception to that rule is Urban Sea. She was a great racer in her own right. She won the Arc. She not only produced several offspring who captured major races, but she also gave birth to two super stars like herself, Sea The Stars and Galileo. These two sons both won the Epsom Derby. Sea The Stars won the Arc. She is the grandmother of Bullet Train, Noble Mission and Frankel, who like his father carries triumphantly on the legacy of this beautiful chestnut mare.
Max
JudyB. I messed up on this. It’s complicated in the horse world. Bullet Train’s father is actually Sadler’s Wells, not Galileo. Bullet Train is therefore what they call a three quarter brother to Frankel. His mother is Kind like Frankel. Sadler’s Wells is Galileo’s father and Frankel’s grandfather.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Shirlee:
I agree, too risky to breed RA again. Yes, Zenyatta had extremely sad and bad luck losing two of her babies and we will never know how they would have progressed. There is hope with this new little one due next Spring and more babies in the future maybe.
I worry about them every time they race too; Godspeed Songbird and all safe and sound. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear Max:
Yes, indeed, Urban Sea is an exception.
Max, you amaze me with the knowledge you have of pedigrees. I find it so interesting. Thank you for sharing this info with us. Love and Hugs, JB
Yes, all is well here. The muggies are back though and the AC is cranking again. Hope all is well with you too. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
Unbeaten Songbird adds excitement to Parx’s Saturday extravaganza
Dick Jerardi The Inquirer SEPTEMBER 19, 2016
UNBEATEN FILLY Songbird arrived at the Parx Racing stable area late Monday afternoon. On the way to Barn 4, where she will reside this week, the horse van passed Barn 8 where local star Cathryn Sophia is with John Servis’ stable. Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist and Preakness winner Exaggerator are scheduled to arrive Wednesday as anticipation builds for Saturday, the biggest day in Pennsylvania horse racing history, with the $1 million Cotillion and $1.25 million Pennsylvania Derby the 10th and 11th races on a 12-race card with $3.227 million in purses. http://www.philly.com/philly/columnists/dick_jerardi/20160920_Unbeaten_Songbird_adds_excitement_to_Parx_s_Saturday_extravaganza.html

A miracle is something we don’t have to explain. We don’t have to explain where refreshing springs form or how the sparkling notes of birdsong come to be. We don’t have to ask what causes the deep rippling laughter of a baby or what makes a shady lane so blissfully peaceful. Little miracles are endless: the healing of a memory, the disappearance of pain, a special spot of sunshine, or an answer to prayer.
Even we are miracles. We humans are a complex combination of experiences, attitudes, and gifts, and we always possess the capacity for greater things. More exists in us and for us than we can see or understand. That means the potential for more miracles is always present in our lives. We can take that potential and mold it, and remold it, to gain something eternal.
I am bringing something so the people will live.
-White Buffalo Woman, Hidatsa
Dear Kathy.Sadly,I think people have forgotten each day is a miracle.I scrolled through the posts of the Dyfi back to may and the 2 videos posted at the time the 2nd egg was due to hatch do not play anymore. They told me the egg was intact but I have a good memory and I am sure there was a tiny crack there. It was underneath and difficult to spot because the egg was so mottled. We will see what the Aberystwyth guys will have to say.Quite a chilly morning here today I had the heater on low last night.Autumn has arrived.I can quite understand how much you miss Holly it will be 10yrs next march since Katie died and not a day passes without a thought of her.
I didn’t know London mayor Sadiq Khan is visiting the US too.Someone had posted on his FB asking if he was responsible for the New York explosions?I heard George Bush snr is going to vote for Hillary.Mr Fibbs has a baff ready for the debate on Monday pity it’ll be 2am over here.Take a look at Palmerston’s twitter there’s a video giving a tour of the Foreign Office. Our para Olympic team have arrived home.Lots of medical reports getting hacked never realised so many had asthma. The platform is pest free with Felix.I believe Nay works but I don’t know about Judy since she left the army. They’ve had nearly $7000 in donations. One of the “posh set” is sunbathing in Spain according to his FB he was born in 1915?? he must have a portrait in the attic.Hope all is well with Ray continued prayers full a full recovery.Have a great day,Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO.
I’m running late so can’t tarry for very long. I hope you have a lovely day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Lovely to see Zenny with Charles, she loves her people and connects on a level that is so deep. Fun to see them together and know Z appreciates those moments.
I love the devotional on Miracles Kathy, we had a little miracle come into our lives on Sept. 8, my first grandchild,a beautiful baby girl. We are all over the moon.
Judy, hope you are Ok and send greetings to everyone on the blog.
I could not access the photos that Sheena sent me. If you want to try sending them directly to me, I would love to see them. Congratulations to you, your daughter and her husband on your beautiful new addition to the family. Love and Hugs, JB
These are two wonderful tribute articles with great photos; one on Skip Away and one on Wise Dan. Skip Away is first and then if you scroll down, you’ll see Wise Dan’s. Enjoy! Love and Hugs, JB
Thanks so much for this wonderful link! Loved reading about the great Skip Away and his owners, and of course, I can never get enough of the magnificent Wise Dan! What a beautiful photo that is of him in full race mode with the rippling muscles! Outstanding articles.
I trust you are feeling better today and hope the vertigo will stay away for good.
Great find. Nice to see pictures of Skip Away in his gray coat.
Dan, I miss him terribly. Woodbine Mile time always reminds me especially of him. Course and race record. So brilliant a miler that I doubt that I will see his likes again.
Dear Judy.Wonderful to read about Skip Away(wasn’t he the sire of poor Bear Witness)I saw lovely pics of Dan today on Lois’s FB.Read a funny story about a dog from China belonging to the son of a billionaire. He bought Coco 8 new iphones and she has 2 rolex watches!!!Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
You are correct, Skip Away was Bear’s sire. Glad you enjoyed the articles. Goodnight. Love and Hugs, JB, LM, PC, HT, Cap, Herc, Frank, Bentley and all the Sweeties
I enjoyed looking on Barbara Livingston’s facebook this am, she captures horses and life on and off the track in such a special way. Love her Flashback photos-such a lesson in racing history and so many great ones remembered.
One photo – a 23 yr old Seattle Slew at sunrise with friend Tom Wade was so touching.
So many more, fabulous current photos and old ones to treasure.
Ritvo: Stronach Tracks Bar Vitali, Hunter From Entry Box
by Ray Paulick | 09.20.2016 |The Paulick Report
Trainer Marcus Vitali, currently serving a 120-day suspension for multiple medication violations in Florida, has been told by officials with The Stronach Group – owners of Gulfstream Park in Florida, Laurel Park and Pimlico in Maryland and Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields in California – that they will not take entries from him in the future and asked Vitali to leave the Gulfstream Park property.
Trainer Allan Hunter, in whose name Vitali’s horses have been running over the last two months, has also been told his entries will not be accepted by Stronach Group tracks. Hunter has been given 10 days to remove all of the horses currently under his care from Gulfstream Park. Hunter has one former Vitali horse entered on Friday’s Gulfstream Park program that will be allowed to run, according to Tim Ritvo, chief operating officer of The Stronach Group’s racing division. http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ray-s-paddock/ritvo-stronach-tracks-bar-vitali-hunter-entry-box/
Thank you for posting this article and thank God for Mr. Stronach. He’s doing what should be done when horses are abused. I am concerned for all the horses in Trainer Vitali’s stable. Love and Hugs, JB
Years ago (in the 80s) there was a trainer by the same last name at Suffolk Downs who’s horses would go missing and could never be traced. He had a very poor reputation when it came to the welfare of his horses and there was no expose or outrage on the slaughter of TBs at that time.
I checked and this Trainer (Vitali) has a Massachusetts background too and raced horses at Suffolk Downs as well in the recent past. Probably same family. Too much of a coincidence I think. Hope more tracks follow Mr. Stronach’s example and ban this trainer from racing.
These are not people who love horses and they shouldn’t have the privilege of being around them. Love and Hugs, JB

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Yes, the explosions are very troubling.

Marshall,
That happened to me one time. Nothing in the post that anyone could object to. Guess they just get busy. Like you, I am so thankful for the blog and all the pictures and info about Zenyatta.
Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Shirlee and Sheena,
Thanks for the responses. I was just wondering what happened and figured that it was a random thing. I feel better about it now even though I didn’t really take it personally. This is the best site ever!
Hugs and Love

Has anyone have any info on Ziconic’s and Cozmic’s training going? I’d like to follow them on TVG!

BGG,
Thanks for the post.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear BGG and Shirlee:

September 20 Cherokee Devotional
I am bringing something so the people will live.

sheena.davies(wales)

Great find. Nice to see pictures of Skip Away in his gray coat.
Dan, I miss him terribly. Woodbine Mile time always reminds me especially of him. Course and race record. So brilliant a miler that I doubt that I will see his likes again.

Thanks Judy, will send photos to you directly.

Good for them. People like this need to be banned from the sport. Shame on the owners who left their horses with Vitali.
Judy B from Rhode Island
Dear BGG:
Thank you for posting this article and thank God for Mr. Stronach. He’s doing what should be done when horses are abused. I am concerned for all the horses in Trainer Vitali’s stable. Love and Hugs, JB
Judy B from Rhode Island
