Very happy for the owner of Littleprincessemma, Mrs. Lyons and her late husband, on the National Broodmare of the Year award, too. Littleprincessemma is a real beauty — gotta love those chestnuts! I’m sure American Pharoah is proud of his lovely mama.

Truly Zenyatta appears to enjoy the company of people! Great photos Alys! Yes indeed, Charles do you need an assistant? My resume is on Yard ‘n Groom! :-)
We can’t help but care what other people think. Something in our basic nature wants to please others. though some are never pleased no matter what we do. To live and work in harmony with each other means listening to other opinions-and reconsidering our own. Could we possibly be wrong about someone? Sagisaw in his native wisdom advised his brothers to wait-wait and see how long this opinion holds true.
Waiting to form opinions can at times be very wise. It is too easy to be negative, to say negative things about others, to accept the negative opinions of others. We need to weigh and sift opinions of others. We need to weigh and sift opinions as to their importance-and their truth. Emerson said that the only sin we cannot forgive in each other is a difference of opinion. But maybe we need to listen more carefully, consider more wisely, forgive more easily, and censure less frequently.
Let me be a free man…free to obey every law or submit to the penalty.

No, we will never forget that horrible day — lives were lost and innocence was lost. The world we knew was gone, forever changed. So much sadness.
Rest in Peace to those whose lives were lost, and Bless those who loved them.
Dear Kathy. You just cannot please all of the people all of the time.A lovely day here and the “Spanish Plume” arrives Tuesday hot again. Our summer has been full of mini heatwaves. It looks likely Mrs G has started her long migration but she has fooled them before!A lot are remembering 9/11 on FB today. An FB friend was flying to Houston on that day and they got diverted to Canada. He spent a week there before being allowed to return to Texas. He tagged me in a post yesterday about foxhunting obviously has no idea of my views on the “sport”I do remember going to see the New Year’s day meet as a child mostly to see the horses.Enjoyed seeing them then.Loved the “last night of the proms”a British institution.
They think Wimbley has a tumour on his pituitary gland initially they thought it was HLP but when his hands got affected…His brothers are taking good care of him!Mango didn’t get to win the hero dog it went to a dog called Pooch but they have precious memories of their time in Hollywood.Larry is congratulating all our medalists we are 2nd in the medal table. The ‘Fly’ is at the Curragh today I have posted a video of him Michael Harries is visiting stud.On this last year Brown Panther died in the Irish St Leger.Sad memories.High drama in our St Leger yesterday only goes to show there is no certainty in racing.Hope Ray is coping with the chemo.Sending love and prayers.Have a blessed Sabbath.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Angel Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
A sad day. The world changed 15 years ago. I’ll never forget watching what was happening in NYC. It was just surreal. Like watching a horrible movie, but it was all real! Sad about Wimbley. As you remarked, though, rats don’t have a long life expectancy. Touching how his brothers are rallying around him. Too bad mango didn’t win, but she and her Mom have some wonderful memories to look back on for a long time to come. I’ll look for your video of The ‘Fly.” RIP, Brown Panther. All I know of Ray is that he experienced dizziness after the first medicine. Feeling sorry for them! Have a blessed Sabbath. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Huge congratulations to Angelique Kerber for winning the Ladies singles title at Flushing Meadow last night beating Pliskova in 3 sets 6-3 4-6 6-4′
Also Jamie Murray became to the first Briton in 44yrs to win a US doubles title. He partnered Bruno Soares to a 6-2 6-3 win.Well done
Japanese raider Makahiki is a comfortable winner of the Prix Niel with Midday’s colt Midterm a good 2nd on his first appearance since the Dante in may.He will either go for the Arc or run on champions day.
I have just seen the result.Happy for Mullins and shorty. Not a good weekend for Aidan. They said Order of St George was awash with sweat and today hasn’t been especially warm over here.
Shorty helped out by suggesting that Wicklow should be given his head in the race. I think that Mullins usually goes with Moore or Dettori for the flat races.
It was fantastic. Wicklow hasn’t won since last year. They had been routinely holding him back, but Mullins told Dettori that he could let the horse do the running today. It really worked. You could see that Wicklow was not going to let the Ballydoyle horse pass him. Very happy for Mullins to get a prestige flat win. Mullins horses are always so well groomed on the day. Laughed at Frankie saying that he won’t be riding over jumps.
Dear Max.I am utterly confused on a sunday night with “Poldark”on!!When I think of Mullins shorty comes to mind Did you see Frankie giving Mullins a kiss?I’d love to have read Willie’s mind. There was a fantastic photo of the ‘Fly’greeting Annie Power at the Curragh Really sweet.
Max
I saw the photo of Frankie kissing Mullins. I guess that Wicklow Brave was having none of Frankie after that race, and he kissed Mullins instead. Few horses appreciate the flying dismount. Mullins didn’t look like he wanted that kiss either. Ha!
Now The Fly is in love with Annie? The Moose won’t like that. He’s been after Annie’s attention for years.
Max
The Moose back from his holidays, looking great in his chestnut cashmere. Annie, where are you?
Thanks for the link, Max!
This is what makes a horse-race! Congratulations to Willie Mullins, Wicklow Brave, Frankie Dettori and all connections on this nice win. Always expect the unexpected!
Great photo of WB and the famous Dettori dismount, too.
Thank you so much for these photos. That Zenny is such a ham. Charles you are so great with her. Thank you, as always, to Team Z for lightening our spirits. This weekend as we commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11 it is nice to be reminded what a beacon of light Zenyatta is to so many people.
Dear Zenny,
What a treat to see you with your BFF Charles. I remember that he was there to welcome you when you first moved to Lane’s End more years ago than I care to figure out. These pictures are just so darn cute! Love the ones where you are resting your head over his shoulder. Did you pick out any promising yearlings? You would be a good judge of that. Enjoy the cooler weather down there today and thank Alys and Team Z for sharing these with us.
Lots of love from your Ohio friend, Sandy
Zenny, there will NEVER be another equine who equals you in personality and intelligence. Alys, once again you capture the spirit of our Queen and I am so thankful to see these photos. And, Charles, you are one lucky fella…in case you didn’t know. ;-)You stand near greatness every day when you are in the presence of Zenyatta.
These are adorable pictures. Thank you Alys. She is so sweet. Lucky Charles! Zenyatta really knows when pictures are being taken. She makes anyone who comes close to her feel welcome.
I had that memorable experience when I visited her at Barn 55 in Hollywood Park. I was lucky to visit her that afternoon. There was only one other fan there. Zenyatta just came back from her last Breeders Cup. She was under her favorite tree outside of Barn 55. Salvador, a very nice groom, taken care of her that afternoon, told me it was alright to come close. When I came up to Zenyatta, she gave me that look as if to say hello, happy to see you. I will never forget that. I was by her side for almost an hour. I didn’t want to leave. Thank you John Shirreffs for sharing her with us.
Claiborne posted their yearlings for the Keeneland sale. I picked out hip #171 Bay Colt
Blame X Amazing Shoes. The dam’s name caught my eye and I do have a soft spot for Blame. Zenyatta forgives him so guess we can too. Dam is out of Empire Maker with a lot of Northern Dance on her maternal side. Will be interesting to watch his guy and see how much he brings. Not owned by Claiborne.
Dear Judy:The jury found Poldark not guilty (as if they wouldn’t) but he didn’t remove his shirt tonight(shame)!Valegro and Charlotte are coming out to NYC later this month for a freestyle demonstration in Central Park and it seems they doing a lot of travelling next month.Charlotte has dark glossy hair now!Pandas are doing well.Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley and all the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX

It was a very peaceful but solemn evening with the horses tonight Zenyatta.

I am so grateful for the happy moments with you Z!!

Dear sweet Zenyatta. I know you can read. I see it in your eyes and your intelligent face. E gad these photos are a tonic for my soul. Thank you so much for these snaps of Z and her “loyal servant” Always especially enjoy the pictures. Zenyatta looks just wonderful.
It is hard for me to believe it has been 6 years since I have seen her in person.
God Bless you and keep you and my thoughts are with those who lost family and friends on 9/11. America strong!
Walk straight and tall, and know there is no problem you cannot overcome. Find your footing and then stand up to challenges, insisting that the barriers give way. Sing when you want to cry, praise when you want to swear, and walk on with determination.
Challenges will always come-they are part of life-but don’t make them your god. Never give worshipful attention to what challenges you. Know that the challenge is trying to take away your self-support, your dignity, and your will to overcome. Face it head on and insist that it be gone. Doing this is not easy, but with persistence and consistency, one day you will realize that you have overcome your challenge. Celebrate the victory-and know that you can overcome whatever new challenges may arise.
You are living in a new path.
-Sitting Bull, Sioux
Dear Kathy.I try to walk with determination but it doesn’t always work especially on a Monday!Very humid here today(as in UK humid) we have had some rain in the west but it looks pretty in Eastern England. What a match last night between Stan and Novak Stan was fantastic.I don’t know what happened to Novak after the French open.He was knocked out of Wimbledon early on.Our para-Olympians are doing great Larry congratulates them all so many medals over the weekend.Wimbley is being nursed by Fibbs the medikashun is beginning to work.maybe it could be the disc problem he had a few months ago.I have seen the bionic vet Doctor Noel Fitzpatrick work miracles on paralysed animals.I could see you read the story about the fox on Zoe’s page.Thank God he was saved.I saw the most horrific photos of dogs getting boiled alive in China in front of children. How could our esteemed Leaders not say a single when they visited recently??It’s all about money and trade!
Hillary’s health problems are big news over here.I had never heard of “walking pneumonia”Very foolish at her age to “carry on regardless” she has to rest now.My mum was 77 when she contracted pneumonia and never fully recovered. The debate is on in a couple of weeks I think?Gosh your elections seem to go on forever!
Great news about Charlotte and Blueberry visiting New York later this month. She is a brunette now I am not too keen.Hoping for news of 39(05) later I visited the Kielder site yesterday (Northumberland) and the male is still feeding his female chick. All the Lowes birds left in August.Poldark kept his shirt on last night worse luck! He’s teasing the ladies.I am sure Ray will be happy to get home great to hear the treatment is going well.I continue to pray for them both.Poor Dolly is getting very long power cuts she looked so pretty in pink.I hope it’s not too hot there. Some sweet pics of Boo.Theba must be away on her holidays.Remember to turtle.Love and hugs to you,Kisses for Holly,Nikko and Sugar.SheenaXOXO
Sorry you’re having humidity. The worse humidity I’ve ever been in was in LA and MS years ago in July. Nasty! It was in the 90s and the humidity was ALSO about 90%. Not sure how the natives ever get used to that. Congratulations to Stan! Better luck next time, Novak. Congratulations to all the para-Olympians. Larry, the ambassador. I hope Wimbley can hang in there. It’s good the medikashun is beginning to work. Yes, that fox was so beautiful. Sorry he’s gone, but thankful he was saved and knew some kindness and love. Oh my gosh, I haven’t seen photos of dogs getting boiled. And in front of children. How barbaric! Yes, indeed…money and trade! I saw the video of Hillary collapsing. I actually had walking pneumonia when I was 16. I had a tough time and Hillary at her age would be really struggling with it. I was still walking around, but just barely. You kind of think you can keep going, but you really can’t. Yes, the debate is in a couple of weeks. I’m sick to death of the campaign. Can’t wait for it all to be over! I would give anything to be able to see Charlotte and Blueberry. What a treat for the New Yorkers! Hopefully most of the ospreys make it safely to their destination. Oh no! Poldark is taunting you. Maybe next week he’ll be shirtless. I’ll be visiting Ray this morning and I’m having lunch with Cheryl in the hospital cafeteria. I took off from work this week to be able to relax and rejuvenate. I will greet them for you. Poor Dolly and her power shortages. At least she’s able to doll up. Yes, Boo always comes out great in his photos. Yes, Theba is probably on vacation. Don’t have to turtle…YAY!!! Enjoy your day. Love and hugs from me, kisses from Angel Holly, Nikko and Sugar. Kathy XOXO
Dear Max.I saw Moosie’s photo on his fan page.Does Annie know he has solar panels?? Nothing but the best for our boy!Cue Card is going for the million pound bonus again this season.Mullins is very interested.I always remember our beloved Kauto winning in 2006/7.Those were the days!
Moosie is always in the vanguard except when he stands still. Those Ospreys really should take up residence in Yorkshire. He’s fully equipped for accommodation. He could order in the meals.
As to Annie, it’s going to take more than solar panels to get her attention. The Riccis keep her in style.
Mullins could do it. He’s got the talent. Just needs to pick the one.
Yes,Moosie will seriously have to come up with something special to woo Annie especially after the Fly was greeting her with a kiss yesterday but she lives in style already.Looking in top form too and Faugheen is on his way back.I’ll have a word with the ospreys it would certainly save all that flying back and fo to Africa and Moosie would be the perfect host.
Max
Annie did not look all that receptive to The Fly, but at least she did not try to crush the life out of him. He’s very small compared to her. She’s Zenyatta’s stature. The Fly is Northern Dancer tall. Mullins compared him to a terrier, but I think that was a description of his coltish character. He looked smitten by Annie in the photo. She’s really spectacular.
Mullins with his yard can compete, but whether he has a horse to match or compare to Kauto Star is another question, a very big question. I haven’t seen any jump horse who reaches his caliber. It’s very sad that he is gone.

Kathy
Dear Sheena,
Sorry you’re having humidity.

Max
