Dear Judy and Marshall, I think Bisquits and Arrogate sure better call Gun Runner and tell him how great he was. Was so proud of McCracken and Unbridled Forever too. Praying all the horses to be OK tomorrow.

Dear Marshall and Peggy:
Yes, I hope Biscuits and Arrogate congratulate Gun Runner on his impressive win. Hope all of the horses came back safe and sound too. Love and Hugs, JB
I did not realize that something happened to Bird Song-nothing was mentioned about it on TV. I was wondering why he did not go to the lead early like he normally does. I hope that he is ok.

Marshall (NC Broad)
Dear Donna Z.,
I don’t know if anything happened to Bird Song — he didn’t run as expected and faded to last so I hope there isn’t a physical problem. He did finish the race so maybe it just wasn’t his day.
Mrs. Whitney is a very generous person who gives freely to many organizations, institutions and charities. Apparently, when any of her horses are sold, there is a page in their registration papers which states she is to be called/contacted if the horse ever needs a home. Admirable lady.
I hope that Bird Song is ok. I was wondering why he did not go right to the lead. There was no mention on the TV broadcast that he had been injured.
Bird Song is owned by Marylou Whitney who has done so much for horse racing & the backstretch workers over the years.
Sending prayers that you are ok, Bird Song.
Gun: (Yawn, snore). Hello.
Biscuits: Gun, Is that you? It’s Biscuits. Wake up.
Gun: Biscuits. It’s 2 am. I’m sleeping.
Biscuits: That can wait. I’m calling to congratulate you. Great win. I always knew that you could do it. Very proud of you. That is one really prestigious win.
Gun: Thanks. I’ll have to check but I think that I am now ahead of that Ghost horse in earnings. I’m feeling pretty good.
Biscuits: You should feel super. You looked fantastic. Your coat is spectacular.
Gun: I’ve been taking care of the old cashmere, and eating your secret weapon.
Biscuits: My biscuits will do that. Tasty and very good for you. All natural.
Gun: What’s going on with you?
Biscuits: Getting ready for my next race and taking orders. I’ve also developed a new ice biscuit line for summer. Refreshing in the heat. Planning on selling it at Saratoga. Expect a package for you at Churchill this week.
Gun: You never let up with the projects.
Biscuits: Speaking of which. I noticed the braids in your mane in the replay of your race. This is a new look for you.
Gun: It’s cool for summer. Actually it’s just cool. You always say that we chestnuts have to be cool, especially if we want to impress Zenyatta.
Biscuits: Yes! I’m thinking of a new business venture: grooming products for horses, styling gel, mane spray. That kind of thing.
Gun: Does that mean that other horses can be as good looking as we are? Won’t that increase the competition for the attention of the mares?
Biscuits: With us? Never! Neigh x 10!
Congrats Gunny!!! Ya had me worried there for a minute, but then saw you were in control.
A new summer biscuit, Biscuits? Mint with lemon glaze perhaps.
You chestnuts are awesome! Yes, Gunny, that mane was very impressive. Lots of love poured all over you.
Thanks, Max. Great summer fun.
Dear Max, that was fantastic. Was so wanting to hear from Bisquits.
Everyone was just wonderful last night.
Fantastic post. Just loved it. Gun was just great and sure looked beautiful.

Just rushing to take my sweet Daisy out but wanted you to know there’s something new from THE VAULT. This one took about 3 years to research since there’s little on this astounding thoroughbred that anyone would really want to read! So it took time to excavate a story!!! I hope you enjoy it.
Dear Abigail.Anyone who loves the thoroughbred should read this article.A masterpiece.I can imagine the amount of research it took to write and my boy Frankel’s Queen Anne. Also a joy to watch the other videos too.Thank you so much for sharing.Hugs,
Thank you so much Sheena! You know, the funny thing is that all through the research, I kept thinking that no-one will want to read it. But the stats @ THE VAULT are “off the chart”….right up there with the ones I wrote on Man O’ War & Secretariat a few years back, the most popular Vault posts!
Wow, this piece is truly amazing and informative. I never knew Tetrarch’s story. I learn something new from your work every time. His beautiful daughter, Mumtaz Mahal, inherited his unique coat color. Great to have access to all these wonderful videos in one place too. Thank you. Love and Hugs, JB
Thank you so much Judy! The Tetrarch was really one of the beacons of thoroughbred racing over the last 90+ years and this was why I was so fascinated. Only raced at 2 and only had 130 foals, but his daughters through Mumtaz Mahal changed the breed forever. I just couldn’t get over that! I love that you enjoyed it. What a horse!!!!
What a great read! The Tetrarch was/is magnificent. This is an amazing story, and you have freed it from the confines of dusty history for us to embrace. Excellent job, Abigail! You have “connected the dots” perfectly.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. Love The Tetrarch’s appearance, too.
Also, thanks for every photo, picture and video — they all drive the point home so clearly.
What a horse, indeed!!
Thank you so much Marshall! It’s just great to hear from a “Zenny soul sister” that you enjoyed this one. I think his story is one of the most incredible ever. So it’s a HUGE pleasure to share it with others!
The photos: what a search that turned out to be! And it was important also because without them it would have been a very long read. So I bought Steve Donoghue’s autobiography and there was that lovely photo of The Tetrarch & scenes from all of his races. Then I read “The Spotted Wonder” and scanned in one or two photos from it.
But the photos & digging up info. on Dick were the biggest challenge of all.
Rhododendron burst a blood vessel in her race.Aidan thougt the hot weather might have been a contributing factor/PU my Flower.Lovely photo on FB of De Coronado.
For all that didn’t hear this last night. Just so interesting.
Forever Unbridled has a full sister. Her name is Unbridled Forever. A very good race horse in her own right. They are the daughters of Lemons Forever. I believe it was Jerry Bailey telling this last night. Or one of the commentators Lemons Forever was years ago in a big race and she was a 49 or so long shot. “She Won” It Paid 92.00. I told Judy this was no Lemon. She made Lemonaide that day out of that race. LOL A very great mom to these two daughters. Love learning about the family. They are owned by the same man.
Think Forever Unbridled will be a very good representative from the East Coast later this year. Wow.
This is interesting and kind of confusing with names which are so close. They are owned by the Canadian diamond guy, who also races Danish Dynaformer. We will definitely have to watch out for Forever this year.
Love it! As Max said, we have to keep track of Forever Unbridled. Her sister last raced in August of 2015. Hopefully she is well and has a happy life as a Mama. Love and Hugs, JB
No need to worry. Fipke spares no expense with his horses. He owns Lemons Forever. It looks like he has the whole family. Lemons has a foal by MdO called Forever d’Oro. You can see the pattern with the names.
judy berube
Dear Max:
I checked on Pedigree Query for progeny info on Unbridled Forever. She was born in 2011 and is a year older than Forever Unbridled. No foals listed for her so far. Also checked on Lemons Forever. Yes, found that she had a 2013 colt, as you said, by Md’O called Forever d’Oro. He last raced in the Travers in 2016. I like the names pattern. Love and Hugs, JB
That was a very decisive win. Very happy for the connections who deserve good racing luck. He is a nice horse, a son of Mizzen Mast, father to the talented but ill fated Mentor Cane. MC’s dam is Vixana.
Thanks for this good news. Big Congrats to Oregon, the Mosses and JS!!
Hugs and Love
Thanks Max for the background on Oregon, too — Congrats to Mizzen Mast. Very sad that Mentor Cane left us so soon, and I was also unaware that he was Vixana’s colt.
Dear Judy:A very hot day over here.Glad you got to see the pics of Trooping the Colour. There was criticism of a photo Kensington Palace tweeted for Father’s day.Charles with Will(no Harry)and William with George(no Charlotte)Really enjoyed seeing Aidan shirtless tonight!Goodnight God bless you LM PC HT Cap Hercules Frank Bentley Willow and the sweeties.Love and hugs SheenaX
Judy,
Our Patch is quite a boy and has proved he has the talent too. Good health to him and racing luck. Will be anxious to see how he does the rest of the year.
Thank you for posting this article! Steve Haskin always brings us revealing and beautifully written stories and observations. Enjoyed this excellent story of Patch very much. May he continue to run successfully and safely — love you, Patch!
News was just breaking as I was going to bed. This is just what ISIS hoped for.Yet another minute’s silence today for the victims of the fire at Grenfell tower block.I would hate to live in a big city these days .Too much hatred.Praying for calm and reason.Love and hugs.

Wow.
Max
This is interesting and kind of confusing with names which are so close. They are owned by the Canadian diamond guy, who also races Danish Dynaformer. We will definitely have to watch out for Forever this year.

Dear Peggy:
Love it! As Max said, we have to keep track of Forever Unbridled. Her sister last raced in August of 2015. Hopefully she is well and has a happy life as a Mama. Love and Hugs, JB
Max
No need to worry. Fipke spares no expense with his horses. He owns Lemons Forever. It looks like he has the whole family. Lemons has a foal by MdO called Forever d’Oro. You can see the pattern with the names.

Great win for John and the Mosses yesterday at Santa Anita. Oregon, a beautiful gray horse, broke his maiden and won easily. Cheers and bravo to all!
Max
That was a very decisive win. Very happy for the connections who deserve good racing luck. He is a nice horse, a son of Mizzen Mast, father to the talented but ill fated Mentor Cane. MC’s dam is Vixana.

Dear Sandy and Max:
Yes, congrats to JS and the Moss’ on Oregon’s win.
Max, thanks for this info on MC. Didn’t realize his dam was Vixana. Such a sad loss. Love and Hugs, JB

Dear Sandy,
Thanks for this good news. Big Congrats to Oregon, the Mosses and JS!!
Hugs and Love
Thanks Max for the background on Oregon, too — Congrats to Mizzen Mast. Very sad that Mentor Cane left us so soon, and I was also unaware that he was Vixana’s colt.
Hugs and Cheers

Good morning, Z-sters. While our hope is in God, He has given us each other in our walk of faith. Let’s not live as isolated islands of faith, but lean on each other and learn from each other as we look to Christ for our salvation and strength. – Phil Ware
